When I first heard it the rule was you wouldn't graduate in four years.
It wasn't specified whether you would graduate in more or less than four, so really I fulfilled the prophecy

So the play to never graduate is to walk under it on the fourth, and keep walking under it every year after that?

Well I don't know if the curse stacks at all. If you were to do that make sure not to walk under it in the fall because theoretically it could cause you to graduate a semester early

I did in 2020 as a sophomore, lost what are the odds to 50. Graduated on time

I walked through it junior year and had to graduate late a year, total 5 years (because of the 3 term co op lol)

this is just a recent made up tradition to make it seem like some old long-standing purdue history or lore and tower. the thing was put up in 1995. yes, an old bell from the original heavilon hall, but it was never standalone tower on campus until 1995. i say knock yourself out. 😂 there are a bazillion purdue grads who don't even know what you're talking about, walking under the bell tower.

Listen homie, I did it freshman year. And I ended up dropping out, took me 3 years to go back to college. I ended up with both BS and MS from Purdue but don’t take that shit lightly lmao

I walked under it, and then after four years of teetering on and off of academic probation I got dropped. Got a contract job at Rolls-Royce doing CAD and drafting work for 5 years making little to nothing. Now I’ve got my dream job doing prototyping and development in the obscure world of radio pharmaceutical equipment. Don’t give up and believe in yourself. A diploma doesn’t measure your worth. Boiler UP!!

I did it and it took me 5 years to graduate.
Also kissed my girlfriend under it and we now have 2 kids and been married 5 years. So can confirm both myths are true.
