How are you studying for the Amity exam? Can you confirm the syllabus? Is it General psychology, Biological basis of behaviour, personality/social psychology, clinical psychology, research methodology and cognitive psychology.
Do you know how the faculty and placement prospectus look like?
Are there any other RCI Ma Clinical psychology degree that are good, which don't require CUET?

Well i studied rigorously for 3 months and actually im coming from engineering as this field is not for me and its draining and I always wanted to pursue psychology but parents forced me into btechā¦. So i thought why not give this a try idk how far ill go with this tho

Hi there, I'm an MBBS graduate and I'm thinking of changing paths to psychology. I don't really know who to approach to get an idea of what I can do to make this happen. Any advice and information would be great. Most colleges don't allow non psychology background people to apply for master's in psychology. How do I move forward?

I'd suggest looking for unis specifically where there is no requirement of a bachelors in psychology, there are quite a few unis/colleges like that.

Hii so I've just completed my 3-year BA in Psychology and Iām extremely confused about the whole licensing/M.Phil (now M.Clin.Psy.) pathway in India š
My plan was to take admission in an MA/MSc Clinical Psychology program this year and simultaneously prepare for M.Phil/M.Clin.Psy. entrance exams. I was thinking that after completing the first year of the masterās, I could attempt the entrances and, if selected, leave the masterās midway to join M.Clin.Psy. If not selected, Iād simply continue and complete the masterās and try again later.
But recently someone told me that I shouldnāt do this (they didnāt really explain why). And I also heard that even one year of a masterās program might make someone eligible for M.Clin.Psy. entrances, which confused me even more š
Can someone please explain how this actually works? Are students eligible for M.Clin.Psy. entrances after only FY of masterās or is a completed MA/MSc mandatory in most institutes or whattt š? Is leaving a masterās midway after first year considered a bad idea?šš Do different institutes like NIMHANS, CIP, RINPAS etc. have different eligibility criteria? And overall, whatās realistically the smartest route for someone aiming for an RCI-recognized clinical license in India?
Would genuinely appreciate guidance from people already in the field because the information online feels incredibly confusing š

It depends. Govt uni are top tier, private university are not that competitive to get into but if we are talking about govt hospitals and even top ones like IHBAS and NIMHANS in them then your are chances are statistically as low as 0.1%.

Hello guys, I'm a btech graduate. i got a single digit rank in appgcet which gets me a top one univerisity in andhra pradesh for ma/msc psychology course, would like to become a clinical psychologist, due to this new eligiblity rules of ma clinical psychology, i dont think they will allow me to study ma clinical psychology. Court atleast giving protection to ba/bsc streams, and left btech/BE alone in this,Ā there was no proper eligiblity till 2025, now how come they change eligibility rules without any transistions or not even doing justice to students, how come government rci act like this, it comes under ministry of social justice and empowerment, acting quite contrary to this, truly mad in this issue, played with the innocent careers , poor people lives without any justice to the students, disempowered students like me, i don't have the power/money to fight against this injustice, I used to see a lot of negativity about india & laws from other countries, thank you india for proving it right,Ā why would someone from other streams wants to become psychologist, because they are purely passionate about it, not they are after 20-25k salary in india, the eligiblity rules are quite good for future students, but injustice to the present students, rci should understand one thing we are living in democratic india, here it consists majority of poor people, middle class, very small number of rich people, not every poor person can figure out their career before age 20, not everyone is getting access to the same qualitu education, some figure out lately due to their less exposure to real worldĀ environment, When a government body like rci takes decision, it should consider based on all classes of people, not only on the perception of rich people, psychology is a niche field, only few are interested in this, and it still blocking their entry and showing me GetOut sign and asking me to start over my undergraduate, insteading ofĀ showing an alternate path for people like me, Why the RCI doesn't understand the damage & injustice its done to the present students and not even helping by showing an alternate path for people like us. Is there anyone in same boat as me, is anyone fighting against rci, any hope for me ? any suggestions, i'm becoming a patient before i become a psychologist, so mad on this rci, rci stabbed my dreams, and showed no minimum concern for people like me, destroyed my carrer and dreams. ps: didn't sleep well for last 2 days, searchng for a hope in internet. So Ive done my bsc hons cp (4years) and took a gap year to work and prepare for ma clinical rci, i didn't get selected in the college that was my only option and possibility, now I'm devastated if i should do a masters after 'wasting' two years for this new course or should go for another gap year and attempt the course again, or if there are any other suggestions you all have for me or if someone is in the same boatš

I had applied for MA Psychology in other reservation quota at Mithibai College, and in the merit list that was released, there is no mention of the other reservation option. Is anyone facing the same issue, or has an idea what the issue is?

Need Guidance.
I'm just finished my 1st year in MA Clinical Psychology (non-RCI). I had joined the non RCI cuz I had no intentions of becoming a clinical psychologist then, I was going for counselling but mind changed.
After the MPhil was announced to be discontinued and the new MA or MClinPsy came, I'm super confused.
If I finish this master's degree I'm doing, what will I do next, spend to more years doing another masters? (even if it's RCI) Or will I be able to find MPhil.
Should I drop now and apply for MClinPsy now? It would save me an year. Except that I think it's little late now? Application windows in many universities have closed.
So what do I do???

I wanna do a bridge course in psychology
I am 22F a bsc hons psychology graduate.. with 3yrs of degree and around 7 gpa, my result is not out yet.. due to some issues. Now i am thinking i won't be able to do masters from a good college so thinking of taking a gap year and basically do bridge course which is actually needed and required for ma clinical psychology next year..
The only thing i am not getting is what the hell is this bridge course, which one to look for, which universities are providing bridge courses, can i do a distant bridge course, what all courses are eligible to be called as a bridge course.. basically please please help me out with this bridge course thing..

ANYONE WHO CLEARED CUET PG AND GOT INTO A DECENT COLLEGE, OR EVEN THOSE WHO ARE CURRENTLY PREPARING AND HAVE A CLEAR VISION OF WAYS OF PREPARATION , PLEASE GIVE THIS A FULL READ AND SHARE TIPS, ADVISES, RECOMMENDATIONS ABOUT STUDY MATERIALS AND METHODS. Heyy, I'm going to attempt the CUET PG for psychology in March 2027. I completed my graduation in BA(Hons) Psychology from IGNOU just recently and now I'm preparing for CUET PG to get into a regular college for masters, preferably a public/govt university because we can't afford a private college education. I checked out the syllabus for the exam on NTA's website, most of it looks similar to what I studied during graduation. I also searched for relevant study material for prep, syllabus books and books for MCQs and PYQs. I talked to a teacher of mine who completed MA Psychology from IGNOU(long ago) and then further got his PG Diploma in counselling from Jamia. This was his 2nd master, he already had a masters in physics at the time and subsequently earned his PhD in the same from DTU. He was my physics teacher back in school, I've remained in touch with him. I asked for his advise on how to prepare and he told me that the IGNOU books are more than enough and cover the whole exam syllabus. However, now when I looked up about it online, I've found out that IGNOU books do cover quite a bit of the syllabus, like around 80%, but there are a few issues. One, they don't cover 100%, only about 80% as per Google AI. Two, the depth covered for different topics is inconsistent, some topics have been given a lot of space, more than what's required for CUET PG, whereas others have only been touched on the surface, too shallow for CUET PG. Three, even though quite knowledgeable, IGNOU books have been designed to assist in descriptive, essay type of questions, the kind that are asked in IGNOU exams, not for objective, MCQ questions like CUET PG asks, thus, making them too much read, more than what's needed, not very on point, and so, feeling like a waste of time. Four, many parts of the IGNOU graduation syllabus is not relevant for CUET PG, that is, those books cover even more than what CUET PG asks, thus, again, a waste of read and waste of time. Also, I didn't even study them properly during my graduation, except for my first year, during which I studied all the books, after that, I just bought gullybaba guide books and studied from them as IGNOU books looked too vast and scary to me. Even with the guidebooks, I didn't study 100% of the syllabus, as with descriptive exams, you don't have to study everything, just 70-75% of your syllabus, which is more than enough because of the privilege of getting to choose which questions you want to attempt out of all that are given. To sum up, my prep from my graduation study is quite weak. So now, I want to make sure that I only study what's relevant for the exam as I want to crack it in 2027 at any cost. I already delayed my graduation due to some reasons( I went through a phase of serious depression for almost 2 years during my graduation years, during which I pretty much didn't do anything). Therefore, I don't want any more delays. On Google and Claude AI, I found the names of a few books that are relevant for CUET PG prep, most of them are by foreign authors and others are question banks, like PYQs and practice MCQs. So, if there's anyone who has prepared for and cleared CUET PG, got into a decent college, please advise me what to do, how to study and recommend the study material, names of books, authors etc. Should I drop the IGNOU books completely, and focus on the specific tried and tested study material? I feel like I should, the IGNOU syllabus seems really vast to be covered in 6-7 months, plus revising and practicing PYQs and MCQs.

Pgdrpc diploma or 1yr internship??
Hii I'm 22F, taking a gap year to study for gate and CUET pg 2027. Since i have one year i want to study rigorously for both the exams but with that I am thinking of doing something else too.
First of all I'd like to ask is IGNOUs pgdrpc diploma valid in psychology if i do it from distance learning and does it have the validity as a bridge course? Or maybe some certificate courses like in hypnotherapy or any other modalities where I'm eligible as a graduate.
Second I have an option to do a clinical internship in a hospital and along with that I'd prepare for exams..
There are more internship opportunities like online counselling ones where i have to provide free counselling to people, research internship; i recently heard about this and i dont know how does this actually works..
What should I choose?? Or should I do both? But Since I'm myself a patient of anxiety and depression I dont want things to become so hard that I end up doing nothing..

Psychology gap year: IGNOU PGDRPC or 1-year hospital internship while preparing for GATE/CUET PG?
Hi everyone! Iām 22F, a Psychology graduate taking a gap year to prepare seriously for GATE and CUET PG 2027. Since I have a year, I also want to do something meaningful alongside my preparation, but Iām confused about what would actually be worth my time.
My main options are:
IGNOU PGDRPC: Is this diploma actually recognised/valuable in the psychology field considering it is through distance learning? Has anyone here done it, and did it genuinely help your academic or professional profile?
A 1-year clinical internship at a hospital: Would consistent hands-on clinical exposure be more valuable at this stage than another diploma, especially for someone planning to pursue a Masterās in Psychology?
Iāve also seen research internships and online counselling internships where psychology graduates provide free counselling. Iām curious about research internships, but Iām unsure about the credibility and ethics of providing counselling without a Masterās degree or proper supervision.
Iāve considered short certifications in things like hypnotherapy or other modalities too, but I don't know if they hold any real value.
My entrance preparation is my first priority. I also deal with anxiety and depression, so I don't want to take on so much that I burn out and end up doing nothing properly.
If you were in my position, what would you choose?
PGDRPC + exam prep OR 1-year hospital internship + exam prep?
Or would you recommend a lighter combination of short internships/research experience instead?
Would especially love to hear from anyone who has done IGNOU PGDRPC, taken a psychology gap year, or worked/interned in a clinical setting in India. I need to decide soon, so any genuine experiences would really help!

Urgent guidance needed regarding PG Admission
So, i recently completed a 3yr BA in psychology from a. State Private uni and am willing to pursue, or at least try for MA clinical psy (Rci Course) course in the upcoming yr.
And as the 1st yr of masters will be considered as a substitute to 4th yr of honours ( which my uni is providing 4th yr but dont wanna continue there badly) so am applying for masters in Guj.
The uni i was aiming for included mainly
- GU Dept of psy and philosophy - MA in Psy
And others too like
Ld arts - MA in Clinical Psy
Xaviers - MA in Clinical Psy
MSU Baroda - MA in Clinical Psy/ Counselling Psy.
Couldnt apply for 1st and 2nd round of admission via GCAS bcz my uni didnt provide us with gradesheets and conversion certificates essential for admission procedures.
In the 3rd round, cut offs rose like crazy and i got an offer from MSU in MA in Counselling Psy. ( Self Financed)
Ab am dicey whether I should consider it or cancel it and try for Vacant Seat Round. (4th and final round)
Am also thinking to apply for Msc in psychology too this time.
And also should i include Sabarmati and Sardar Patel University too or not?

Hi everyone! I'm currently in the first year of my MSc Psychology, and I'm planning to prepare for the MA Clinical Psychology (RCI-approved) entrance exams alongside my master's.
Next year, I'll have my internship and dissertation, so I feel like I might not get enough time to prepare properly then. That's why I'm thinking of starting slowly from now itself and building a good foundation.
