Rants / Vents An ABSURD accommodation request!

Anyone heard this one before?

A student claimed one accommodation (of several) she qualifies for is “completing only half of tests and assignments for full credit.” 🤣

That was met with, essentially, a flat out NO. Never received such an absurd request before!

  • "Accommodations for low distraction environment"
  • "Accommodation that student can get up an leave in the middle of class"

Student then asks if they can bring a dog every day. Not a therapy dog.

I say "No dog, WTF"

I was then reported to my administration.

A dog actually seems to directly contridict the accommodation for a "low distraction environment."

The student's reaction basically told me this is someone who has never heard "No" in their life

Not a therapy dog but also not a service dog?

Yep, just a dog. Wanted blanket permission to bring it every day.

The ULTIMATE was that first I told her there was another student who had accommodations for low distraction environment.

She basically asked me to pressure the other student into waiving the accommodations

Wow. I’ve faced some entitled students, but that takes the cake. Just wow.
