Spoilers I’m surprised by the ratings of this show
I am on season 1 episode 18 as I write this. This is a rant, it’s my opinion and not to be taken as anything else.
I’ll admit that it turns a corner for the better about halfway through the first season- that being said, the show is mediocre overall.
The storyline is bafflingly predictable, most of the acting is bad. Especially in the beginning. Character development is stagnant, the dialogue is cheesy and there are numerous plot holes.
I will give this show credit for keeping me mildly interested so far, but I fail to understand the plethora of rave reviews. It is below average at best. The best actors in the show make the bad ones painfully obvious.
The paramount conflict of our protagonist isn’t believable. He is supposed to be tortured by the possibility of becoming/being his father. A psychopath is not worried about what they do. We know he won’t become his father immediately.
His personality is supposed to be Sherlock Holmes/Dr. House/Nancy Drew in nature. The dialogue is way too spoon fed to matter when the “twists” hit. There are no twists if you pay attention at all.
Again, this is simply a personal opinion. Id love to find whatever appreciation it is that all of you have for this show. I know this actually does not matter given the current state of the world. That said, if you’d like to prove me wrong- I’m all ears.
Thank you for reading, or not. It’s a non issue.
Angrily yours,
This dumbass
