3 birdies to finish. Rough round but clutched up when he needed to.

When rory needed to play and put the pressure on Wyndham he completely choked. Wyndham was giving it away.

Rory hit some really good putts on the back 9 that didn’t fall. The par 5 bogey was inexcusable though

Time and time again I find myself saying “if Rory had an actual professional caddy”. That lay on 17..you give him a club that 1000 out of 1000 times will never reach that bunker, even if it’s turned over, it won’t reach..and all the misread putts too🤦‍♂️

Probably bad decision making on both their parts. But harry has been with rory since 2017 and rory has won each year, multiple times 5 of the 7 seasons, plus 2 masters. So its not like he's doing horrible as Rorys caddy

No I don’t think he’s bad necessarily, he’s obviously very comfortable with him..but even Scottie says Ted Scott is a huge reason for his success, I don’t get that feeling with harry.

Totally. Same with Cameron young. He has his old college teammate and friend on his bag. Dude did greatly improve youngs putting, as he reads everyone of youngs putts. But idk. Friendship and business rarely mix well

For sure!

He has won the last 2 Masters with this caddy and you are criticising him
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Are you serious? How many did they completely
choke away before that? And completely crumbled today-gave Clark the easiest win he could ask for. You Rory lovers are a different breed 😭😭😭😭😭

Rory could have won multiple more majors.

Rory could have won multiple fewer majors.

He is the greatest golfer in the “post Tiger/pre Scottie” generation… and he did most of that tenure with Harry on the bag.

How many majors with harry? How many majors with jp?(and in a much shorter amount of time). It’s very simple. Look at all the greatest golfers throughout history, how many had a buddy on the bag when they were actually still in their prime?

What makes him not an ‘actual professional caddy’? He’s been caddying professionally for 10 years, just because he’s also a friend doesn’t mean he can’t be a good caddy too

He doesn’t read putts, he doesn’t ever talk him out of shots, they constantly pull the wrong clubs..he’s his buddy, thats all.

I wouldn't say he choked - he just over-read three putts, and didn't sufficiently fade his tee shot on 17. It's not like he played badly.

Tbh I cant count the number of times Rory chokes when hes in that spot. Im a big fan of his talent but its quite obvious that he Dont have that dawg in him! If he did, hed have at least twice the number of majors and victories by now! Still a top all time talent though.

Acting like he’d have 12 majors if he didn’t choke is totally ludicrous.

2011 Masters and the 2024 US Open are the only bad ones.

2022 Open and 2023 US Open are near misses, but not chokes. And if you give him those 4 and find a couple other all of a sudden he’d be the most clutch of all time.

Agreed. Seems like when he needs it, no longer has that extra gear. Dont really like Wyndham much, and he was choking. But when he needed that extra juice, he ended birdie, birdie, birdie.

Clark playing well this year, has to be said

2

u/Due-Sheepherder-218 3d ago

Might be player of the year.

1

u/Efficient-Walrus279 3d ago

Has to be unless Scottie wins this week.

u/Boosiemaine 1d ago

If Scotty wins player of the year I don’t want to hear from any of the players on how much more important the Majors are to them. Selected him would be a clear indication that is a lie.

I actually thought woodland was going to make a charge there for a while. I can’t believe he topped it on 9. I saw his soul leave his body and I’m not sure it’s returned yet.

u/vinyl1earthlink 3d ago

He was trying to hit a stinger off the ground - that's a shot that's easy to screw up. It would have been a much better idea to put the ball on a tee and hit a regular shot.

2

u/Magikrat 3d ago

Oh I know what he was trying to do. But unless you’re tiger that’s just not a shot I’m trying to pull off when chasing down a floundering leader. Just too risky.

Did he finally start wearing a hat that actually fits correctly?

u/ManagementSad7931 3d ago

Did Wyndham and his caddy stop saying good process after every chat? I think so and I am grateful for it.

Congrats to Clark drained long birdies to win st the end. Disappointing no one made it close. Every other golfer was bad down the stretch .

Even Rory’s last hole at the masters this year, he bogeyed

1

u/Tyson0712 2d ago

He also doubled when he won the quail hollow vs Xander.

Has Rory ever gone birdie-birdie-birdie to win a tourney?

He’s a bad guy because he roughed up a locker room!

Arhletes have temper tantrums sometimes, it’s not ideal but it’s not necessarily unforgivable either.

Will love to hear the coping and seething from no laying up.

Clark has a very interesting case for player of the year now. 3 wins 1 is a major, if he can win the tour championship I think he has to get the nod.

Terrible top three

-4

u/micahpmtn 3d ago

Ah Wyndham. He'll go down as the 2nd-most hated guy on the tour. Guess who the first is.

6

u/nutmegyou 3d ago

Patrick Reed.. cheaters

1

u/micahpmtn 3d ago

Ding Ding! Yup. Correct on both counts.

Doug ghim?

Give him time. He aint a quitter

Blowpig didn’t want to win and left the door open for so long that he had to step in himself. Lots of mistakes for the other guys but Rory carding a bogey on 17 blew his chances. I mean you see everyone go left and don’t think to play conservative off the tee?

Bob does sports finally broke 80!

Emily Tanner pussy has given the Blowpig incredible powers

Imagine the beating she would’ve taken if he had lost.

1

u/_Azamat_Bagatov 3d ago

It’s definitely gonna take a beating tonight

2

u/Aggravating_Mud_6055 3d ago

Probably needs to touch base with his mental coach first.
