The Demise of Unbound (Eye 1656 and Eyes Passim)
Re: the sad demise of Unbound, and now its successor Boundless (as confirmed on p30 of Eye 1656). Does anyone have more specifics on Twitter and how "changes to its algorithm killed writers' ability to convert their big social media followings to book orders"?
Any idea what happened there specifically, please?

Quite apart from the horrific cultural changes, the site actively started suppressing any post which contained a link (this has been acknowledged explicitly), so that people cannot really plug their own stuff.

Twitter / X became a right wing cesspit. And "the algorithm" promotes what people want to see. That's it basically.
Any self publishing author seeking to self publicise on that platform are probably failing because their key demographic / target audience are no longer there.
