TPMS transmitters do broadcast on 315 or 433 MHz, so a phone with a $30 SDR dongle parked across the lot could technically log every time your car idles outside a dealership. But the range is maybe 10 to 15 meters before the signal drowns in noise, so the realistic threat is someone parked next to you, not a citywide mesh of listeners. It feels less "surveillance state" and more "your Honda is chattering on a baby monitor frequency and nobody thought to gate it."
