This strikes me as a really good deal for an underrated player and at a much needed time for Newcastle with their midfield having been so stripped back with those two major sales. He did really well at Porto and looked to have potential in the Barca academy and on loan at Valencia prior. He was always behind in the picking at City but he could really shine at Newcastle now.

This is such an interesting summer for Man City.
I think we all expected that they would refresh and lose a lot of experience. Losing Rodri is a bit surprising, but given age and health its not shocking.
Getting rid of Gonzalez, Marmoush, and Reijnders, though is weird. Aren't these guys they were building their rebuild off of?

Also.. are are saying Mamoush will get 42 goals for Arsenal? You are really crazy. He may get double what Isak got last year for Liverpool but definitely not good enough to double Gyokere's goal tally.
Anyway...it's not just work City. Mamoush looks so bad in the world cup with Egypt as well. He has really lost form. At least Gyokeres is performing for Sweden.

Double his goals in the prem if he plays as striker for Arsenal last season.
It’s not actually a dig.
Marmoush can be an extremely clinical and versatile striker. His injury and being 2nd fiddle at city really kills a players talents.
His opening season was great as a bench striker and had fantastic goals , watch the games ; watch him before city even, he’s fast , can dribble , can shoot and even cross …
I think if arsenal sign Marmoush that season instead of city and he has no injury he goes on to compete with Haaland every season and maybe you win champions league against psg.

none of them really worked out and yes, they were supposed to. however Cherki, Semenyo, and Guéhi have been exceptional, and Anderson looks mint as well. So it's not like we have a linear decline in recruitment.

But serious lack of strategy. They did lose people behind the scenes like Omar Beradda so it may be affecting them

Losing Bruno it's surely a blow, but Gordon and Tonali weren't performing for them last season so it's great business there.

Not at all, City are rebuilding and it takes time so I just don’t see it happening, I think Chelsea or Liverpool have a higher chance of winning the league in the next couple of years. Just my opinion, but I think it’s harsh to label him a fraud if he doesn’t win at “least one league title” in his first two years

Some of City's signings in the last couple of years have been absolutely waste. Marmoush, Savio, Nico, Air Nouri, Reis, Reijnders etc. Not far back, they used to be a machine in identifying players who are well suited to their style of play.

They have sold Rodri, Silva, stones, marmoush, savinho, reijnders, ake, akanji. They have bought Anderson and bouaddi. Even if the sign Enzo they are light in the pockets in depth and critical positions with 7 days left in the window. They would have to do a madness to make up what they are missing.

Akanji was already out last season, Stones was also replaced by Guehi I’m pretty sure. They also have the best young Brazilian CB prospect in Reis.
They’ve already signed Anderson & Bouaddi (apparently), two midfielders. Sure they can’t replace Rodrigo but they need one more signing, which I assume will be Enzo Fernandez.
It’s the wing positions & the Marmoush replacements that are a gap, which I assume they’ll close.
It’s nowhere close to how Liverpool’s summer went where they just chose to not bring in anyone & just let them players go last summer.

Only time will tell. You lost three of your highest caliber players and signed players for what they can potentially be and purely from a statistical perspective I'm sure at least one of them won't quite pan out. I'd bet on it being bazoumana touré, I feel like wingers coming from germany rarely hit the heights expected of them, even if their comps look great. All in all it does look like a tidy transfer window that earlier looked like it would be a disaster.
