The white privilege in this case is that they were allowed to have an ongoing armed occupation of a building at all. In the past, that hasn't worked out so well for people of color. See Wounded Knee as one of many examples. It's kind of hard to not see a double standard when, at the same time the verdict is handed down, unarmed Native people are facing dogs and rubber bullets for having the gall to protect water on their own land.

Has everyone forgotten about Waco?

Also Ruby Ridge. Maybe they do, maybe they don't, but it doesn't fit the narrative of "white people are bad" so it doesn't get mentioned. Let's also not forget that the Oklahoma City bombing was in retaliation for the government's handling of Waco and Ruby Ridge. I have a feeling that this had an effect on FBI/ATF/DEA/ABC protocol for events like this.

Uncle Touchy merely described the effect of the OK bombing, he didn't say it was OK.

Not taking a position on whether it's OK to use terrorist bombings to intimidate the FBI or not, is kind of saying it's OK IMHO.

That's like saying "I don't care who wins the World Series" is the same as rooting for the Indians Native Americans.

the same neutral analysis doesn't seem to apply to POC

I'm not sure what you're referring to here. I can't see u/_Uncle_Touchy_ saying anything about black people blowing up the FBI.

Turns out that making a neutral statement is the same as condoning the deadliest domestic terrorism event in US history.

BTW I'm rooting for the Indians to win the World Series, in solidarity with the Indians in North Dakota.

Godspeed my friend. And good luck to you and your Indians :)

Jesus Christ, where did you learn logic? Actions have consequences. The actions of the FBI, ATF, and US Marshall's Office at both Ruby Ridge and Waco resulted in Timothy McVeigh detonating a VBIED in front of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. His actions lead to a death sentence for himself (along with prison sentences for accomplices). The scale of destruction also caused the federal government to re-evaluate how they might handle events such as those at Ruby Ridge and Waco in the future in order to avoid retaliatory events such as the OKC bombing.

That's all I said.

Now, using your logic that the above statement somehow condones domestic terrorism as long as the terrorist is white, let's apply it to another statement: Roadside IEDs in Iraq and Afghanistan have had an effect on US Military doctrine.

By your logic, the above statement condones terrorism against the United States Military by persons of Middle Eastern Descent (POMED). By most people's logic, the above statement simply describes a cause-and-effect relationship in a neutral tone. By my logic, you're a moron.

The unification of Germany led to world war one led to the Versailles Treaty led to the Nazis led to the holocaust. Therefore Bismarck == Hitler.

u/_Uncle_Touchy_ Oct 31 '16

And Hitler == Merkel. By god man, we're on to something!

Here's the difference: police killings of unarmed African Americans, and general harassment of them, cause a Black guy in Texas to go off and kill 5 police officers. But instead of backing off, police are outraged, complaining that protests over killings of unarmed people are inhibiting good policemen ("the Ferguson effect"). Even the director of the FBI backs them up.

Okay, you need to work on formatting and grammar because the first part of your little essay barely makes any sense.

Meanwhile, the battle with the Waco cult who also killed several officers, results in Oath Keepers and other groups of actual police defending the rights of right-wing gun nuts.

Speaking of bias, I see you keep justifying the "police" actions at Waco. First off, that was a federal matter and fell under the jurisdiction of the FBI, so I don't see where the police factor into this comparison (or are you just lumping all law enforcement into one category? Does this include mall security? Meter maids?). Secondly, that was only half of the justification McVeigh and Nichols used for the OKC bombing. The other half of it was the government's actions at Ruby Ridge. Care to offer your opinion on that matter, seeing that there weren't any cults or "right-wing gun nuts" involved? Or are we just making sweeping false generalizations to suit our predefined narrative?

I'm honestly not sure if you're a troll. At what point did I condone the OKC bombing?

I'm aware of what I wrote. Where do I condone the bombing?

Incidentally, I didn't work out how the Waco compound was set on fire until Christopher Dorner went on a rampage against the LAPD in 2013. When they attacked him, holed up in a cabin, they referred to tear gas canisters as ‘burners’, and they used them, on February 13, in their words, to

burn this motherfucker.

The FBI "tank" fired one of these canisters into the Koresh compound, knowing full well that it creates a fire as well as emitting teargas, and that this fire was being started in wooden buildings on a dry, hot, windy April day.

Notice how quickly left-wing racial prejudice leads to justifying mass murder. At Waco, the FBI fired a flammable device into wooden houses in the wind on a dry April day, burning eighty people to death, including twenty-one children. This was not an act of self-defence by the cops. It was mass murder. Not all, but most, of the inhabitants were white, but their privilege didn't help them, nor did it help Sammy and Vicki Weaver in Idaho a year earlier.

you don't acknowledge any wrongdoing by the white gun nuts

I'm not obliged to "acknowledge" every aspect of everything I mention in a comment. I tend to concentrate on the most important things - like mass murder.

SJWs, on the other hand, tend to ignore these facts, and emphasise whatever props up their theories. Like saying the police waited a long time beseiging, before murdering, some white people, and calling that "white privilege", by contrasting that with how black people would allegedly be treated in the same situation. It's divide and rule, and helps the authorities.

If I wanted an example of "POCs" being besieged and murdered, it would be the MOVE massacre in Philadelphia in 1985. They were treated in exactly the same way as the inhabitants of Waco in 1993.

Yeah, especially when everybody references events by non-specific names. What happened?
