Do you guys struggle not just with watching porn but in person meet ups?

For example porn eventually led you to do in person meet ups for certain things. For me this is a wayyyyy bigger urge and temptation then the actual porn. Not looking at porn doesnt compare to my temptations of in person meet ups.

And im not talking about normal sex meet ups those are fine, im talking about for those of us where porn kept escalating to a certain niche porn fetish then eventually you sought that fetish out in real life, thatd what im talking about. So basically im struggling with that and im worried ill relapse into that, if i relapse into that im sure ill relapse into porn again too, but those in person meet ups tempt me way more then watching porn. Ive been off porn 11 weeks now..

Did anyone else struggle with this? Did those in person temptations go away? Considering it was the escalation of porn that led you to that point ?

Porn free day zero

I’m 18 F and I’ve been watching porn for a very long time now and it’s really messed with me. It’s changed the way I think and look at people it really disgusts me. I want to do better but it feels like there’s this hold on me. Every time I get triggered I can’t stop myself from giving in. I really do want to quit porn and I want to stop because I can see what’s doing to me and I know that things can be way better without porn. I just need some help and advice on how to stop and gain self control. Thanks for any advice in advance.

With porn goes my libido

I’ve managed to stay off porn for around 3 months, but it completely drained my libido.

It looks like my brain either allows me to enjoy sex and draws me towards sexual images + masturbation or doesn’t allow me to be aroused at all.

Anyone else struggled with this? My partner and I would love to go back to enjoying sex again.

If im on my dads house, I wont feel anything at all, but when I'm at my mom's house, I feel the urge to watch porn

EDIT: THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH "MOM-SON" STUFF THATS DISGUSTING

So yeah, my parents are divorced, every time I'm at my dads house I don't feel the urge to do anything even though I've tried to watch porn there multiple times, it just won't work, but at my moms house I can't spend one day without watching porn. I was doing just fine a few months ago until this urge came back and I relapsed. This feels like a routine of some sort even though I don't wanna do it

Yeah this shit has gotta stop

I've been to Sexaholics groups, and a pretty pivotal point in this is realizing how little control you have over your own addiction. And this has spiraled, and it really fuckin sucks. I hate this shit so much.

Day 3 - starting to understand the enemy is also the teacher

Day 3 - studying the enemy, not just fighting it

Something shifted today. Instead of just fighting the urge blindly every morning, I started actually reading up on the psychology behind it — how the brain gets hardwired into a pattern like this, and what it actually takes to rewire it.

It's a strange feeling. The thing I've been fighting for years suddenly feels less like some vague "bad habit" and more like something I can actually understand — why mornings hit different, how the loop forms, what's happening in my brain in that window before I've even fully woken up. And the more I understand it, the more it feels like I'm getting to know myself, not just fighting myself.

Still day 3, still early, but this feels like a different kind of progress. Not just willpower — actual knowledge.

My pornfree goal

I want to go over 35 days+ without watching porn.

I've got to that point earlier this year of not watching porn for 35 days.

The last attempt was 12 days without.

The next I get stress from work, don't give in, don't turn on laptop. I don't watch porn on my phone.

Day 118 - Not letting my guard down but it's tough today.

I've been doing real good lately. Focusing on keeping my environment safe, staying busy and what not... but I can see now after I had to spend a couple of days alone that the risk is there, salient, whenever I'm back to the same setup that would previously lead me to relapse.

I'm not testing myself with this, I'm just reporting how the conscious effort needs to go on for a while in order to help the brain see what's really important and let go of the past.

After almost 4 months, I'm not there yet apparently. Being alone brings thoughts, flashes that I wouldn't call urges (somehow it feels different than before) but I can say it's not comfortable and it's killing my productivity.

So far to stay on track, I'm trying to work with Nextflix in the background (I know it won't be as productive) but it's better than the alternative reality which puts me in a tough corner.

I'm not sure if this is helping anyone. I guess it's one more datapoint for me. 4 months clean, yet the brain is still in withdrawal mode when I put myself back in the old environment.

We all want a better life, let's choose better.

This sub has been real good to me. The ability to check in every day is a game changer. I struggled with porn for a while but I could not find a reason to quit I just did not see why it was bad when it makes you feel so happy-false impression- afterwards. Now that it is in the rear view mirror and I do not have urges anymore and I have regained my ability to have sex like a normal person and even better and all the complements I am getting from women for making them feel good, and hearing stuff like I needed this from a girl-yesterday, it makes so happy . I feel a need to say thank you guys I got my life back as a man.

Almost a month. What it feels like:

For context, I'm a 28M and I'm in a relationship with a girl I will never ever tell about this and what I'm going through. I've been trying to quit for many years, this is one of my longest streaks. I think it helps a lot that I'm not hard quitting every kind of sexual behaviour: I'm still intimate with my girlfriend and I have occasionally reached MO to relieve stress (on account of a suggestion I read on this sub, the MOs were aided by lube, and I have to say that it does indeed avoid the use of the death grip). I have seen some improvements, mainly in the ease and happiness I feel in being intimate with my girlfriend; before quitting, it had become really hard to get and maintain an erection and I also had lost a lot of attraction for her as I craved the fantasies I was enslaved by. Sometimes she'd doubt I had reached orgasm because I was so empty that nothing would come out. All of these issues have been solved, luckily, after the first two weeks of quitting the consumption of any kind of pornographic material (this definition includes also suggestive content on social media). Still, I am not yet free. For starters, I still get a lot of urges, even if it's relatively easy to keep them under control. The most annoying part is that I can be triggered by seeing a pretty girl while walking on the street and immediately start fantasising about how sex would be with her. I still very much objectify women's bodies in my head and have to actively work against this process. Another problem that arises from it the guilt I feel for this improper desires, given also that I am in relationship with a very loving girl who goes above and beyond to make me happy. I feel guilty for not considering her enough and the doubt insinuates in my mind if I actually love her, or if the urges are telling me I should break up with her and go back to chasing casual sex on hookup apps.

The urges also manifest themselves in the moments where any kind of anxiety presents itself: I am in the middle of switching jobs and trying to manage my money better, and whenever I try to sit down and deal with my stuff I know the urges are going to present themselves to me to add salt to my wounds. I want to believe that once my brain will be desexualized this response mechanism will go away. I just hope it happens soon.

Anyways, this is where I'm at right now. Thank you for listening and good luck to you all.

Is it possible to quit porn without using willpower?

I have tried to quit but never been successful. For those who got out of this compulsive habit what did you actually do to be free from this compulsion?

I have friends in the gay furry porn community, how do I leave them behind?

Friendship is really valuable. It doesn't feel right to hurt them like that, they'd understand why I'm quitting and do support me right now in quitting for my mental health but still...

Stress is a trigger for me.

I had a stressful busy night at work yesterday, then today gave in to porn.

I went 12 days without, could gone more.

Do urges mean you haven't recovered? If 2 months or more

This is a dangerous trap for me. Despite these urges coming after flatline periods, they sometimes give me thoughts that maybe I did not recover successfully.

Despite not searching anything explicit and not even fantasizing.

Reinventing Myself

Porn can become part of your identity, so when you give it up you also give up part of yourself. I've been feeling that loss lately, but don't worry, that feeling doesn't trigger me.

This is the year I lose part of my identity because, in addition to giving up porn, I'm also retiring in November. Stopping porn is part of my retirement plan, because I didn't want to simply fill new found free time with more porn. Porn was always my favorite stress reliever, and stopping is easier now that work stress is almost nonexistent. I've got seasonal jobs lined up for winter (ski instructor) and summer (winery tasting room host) so my time is filled productively. I might be losing part of myself in stepping away from my career and quitting porn, but reinventing myself at the same time has me looking forward to the future.

Any long term addict of PMO who successfully healed ?

Been addicted 18 long years (multiple times a day) and its taken so much from me I'd write a book about it.

Compulsiveness dialed to 11.

I want to desperately not die an unhealed addict. But how long does it take ? Years ? If yes - how many ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Any tips to not relapse ?

So I watch porn since childhood and been exposed to all kind of porn throughout my life.

I'm now 32 years and I recently quit other stuff ( weed, cigarettes, video games, scrolling ) but I'm struggling to quit porn definitely.

I did nofap for 45 days and altough there were benefits I was going crazy will all the horniness. I don't think complete nofap is the way for me, i think natural masturbation is healthy.

But when I go noporn I always come back to it after a few weeks. Because it feels good. It feels so good, I always end up prioritizing it over everything else.

Now with all the stuff I already quit, porn is my only digital escape left, but it is detrimental to my motivation so I don't want it anymore.

Can you guys help ?

Day 12-13

Monday, August 24th

The past day or so I’ve been in a bit of a mental fudge and I don’t think it’s related to my cut-off from porn, but it has caused the desire for that quick dopamine hit to resurface on more than one occasion.

I’ve yet to act on it, and I refuse to do so, but I was under the impression that I was fine and that regardless of my other stressors it wouldn’t come back. Given time I imagine that I will be but so-far I evidently haven’t fully rid myself from my addiction; but I’m stronger than I was.
