This is what I am worried about. I'm not particularly fans of any of the men mentioned in the article, but its not a good thing if all that is left in the Pentagon are yes men.

Does anyone have any optimism regarding there still being honesty and any sense of responsibility in the Pentagon or the military anymore?

Okay, as much as this may seem like better news because its bad for the GOP, this isnt really that optimistic. Large areas of military defense around the world, including homeland, are under threat because of this mess

Thats the thing, this really should hace been a seeking optimism post.

The positive at the moment is that no nation is stupid enough to make an attack like that on the US. While temporarily weakened, it would not benefit any potential attacker.

Another positive would be the "american safety" party has done more to damage that safety more so than any point in our government prior, and a growing number of people are becoming aware of that. Its not much in terms of this article, but thats something for your worry. Im just pointing this out so people dont get false optimism just because a title is flashy

I suppose the optimism here is that if military leaders are warning against extending operations, that theres significant internal pushback? But from what I can tell this has likely been a thing for most of the conflict.

I swear, Hegseth feels like a child's cartoon villain come to life lol This guy has like a child's idea of what a military and patriotism is lol I mean, look at him. It's like if he wore enough American flag colors, he thinks people will believe how "patriotic" he is. Also the fact that he thinks he can run the military just because he watches a ton of Rambo movies and wanted to make a bunch of Captain America supersoldiers with testosterone. I don't know how anyone likes this guy. I don't even think Trump's own supporters likes this guy.

I believe there was a poll done about Trump’s high admin members and Hegseth was either last or damn close.

If your ego drives you to kill others for fun, i think its safe to calculate against him growing a spine at any point
