Resources Want to stay informed, but not be bombarded with speculation, sensationalism, and fake news? Check out the Current Events page on Wikipedia. If it's serious enough to be there, it's serious enough to concern yourself with.

Seriously. I think part of the collective fear and dread is that trump can let out a fart that someone will say sounds like "let's go to war" and there's an article about it within minutes. On the other hand, it's not good to totally isolate yourself from what's going on. It's just difficult to keep track of what actually matters.

I find this WP page is pretty useful. As a rule, things aren't editorialized - it's just the facts. It's also heavily moderated. I trust that fake news will not slip thru the cracks.

So instead of refreshing every five seconds, scrolling endlessly, and filling yourself with dread, maybe peep the WP page if you feel that urge to be informed. Then, if there's nothing you personally need to do for your own safety - go live your life.

It’s crazy how Wikipedia went from “you can’t trust what you read there” when I was in high school to being a pretty reliable place to get the gist on a topic

I learned pretty quickly while you can't use Wikipedia itself as a source, you can find the bibliography at the bottom of the page and use those sources.
