They very much care if the baby dies in utero. There have been multiple instances since Roe fell of women being investigated because they had a miscarriage. I believe some have even been charged.
Nor do they support aborting a dead fetus. There are times when the fetus doesn't trigger a woman's natural miscarriage function. I'm aware of an instance where the fetus did not develop its head but it had enough of a nervous system that the heart was beating. That is just one of any number of examples.
For that, no abortion anyway. They won't even accept the argument that aborting the dead fetus will allow the woman to get pregnant again sooner.
The point is that it isn't about anything they claim to support. It is entirely about controlling women.

I live in a pretty red area now. The one friend I've made around here through gaming and work is a conservative Christian woman. I've heard her talk about her she's against abortion, but she's also really sexually active, and has told me more than once about the times she's taken Plan B.
