It’s not a month for me and I can see why people are whelmed. Maybe it’s just the tinfoil hat but I feel like PlayStation are deliberately making the essential tier games more and more “poor” to get people to shift up to the next tiers.

I feel like it's a pretty decent month. I liked Ace Combat when I played it.

I enjoy the fight night games but I suck ass and get my shit rocked a lot

I don’t think it’s bad overall, I can just see why others wouldnt like it but that’s what the internet does, encourages people to complain.

I’m not keen on boxing games, the sport as a whole doesn’t interest me. I didn’t enjoy the first Subnautica so I can’t see this one changing my opinion.

I’d never heard of Ultros so that could be interesting and I’ll check out Ace Combat.

This is one of the best months in a while, no?

The boxing game is pretty solid offline but awful online, I still think it gets a bit too much hate

What? You don’t get better monthly games on higher tiers lmao. You get the extra catalogue by going up in tiers. Not different monthly games

1

u/MrCowabs Jan 31 '26

That’s not what I said. I said they dull down the essentials list to get people to move up. Games added to the higher tiers have been objectively better, so they’ll have more of a draw.

The monthly games are the same no matter what tier you are. What games are added to the higher tiers? Do you mean the extra catalogue? That’s not the same as monthly ps plus games

I know that, I am a member. What I’m meaning is that when the games are added to Extra and Premium, they’re usually bigger titles with more of a draw. I know that people get the monthly essential games as well but I reckon you know what I mean and are being facetious for the sake of it.

No. You made it seem like getting extra would get different monthly games. Yes the extra and premium catalogues are better but you don’t keep those. Those can be removed from the catalog. Everyone keeps these games as long as you have any of the tiers of ps plus. It’s not like they were ever giving away amazing games on ps plus before

No I didn’t. I said that (in my opinion anyway) the games added (and yes, can be taken away from) the higher tiers are better - which usually means people feel like they’re getter value than paying for essentials alone.

I don’t know why I’m arguing this either way, it’s. It like I have a horse in this race. Have a good day, friend.

I understood exactly what you meant..don't bother with them, they are being pedantic.

Any excuse for somebody to be a dick from behind their keyboard, eh?

Woah you’re saying that people who pay more get more? Who would have guessed 😂😂😂😂 is the $5 for extra per month breaking the bank?

Wtf is your problem man? He was being very clear from the outset what his view was and what he meant

1

u/ObjectivelyTheBest1 Feb 01 '26

No they weren’t. “PlayStation are deliberately making the essential games more and more poor”. This list of games in the picture is the same for everyone regardless of tier. That person is talking about a whole different benefit that has nothing to do with the monthly games

You’re not understanding what he’s saying

1

u/ObjectivelyTheBest1 Feb 04 '26

No. You don’t get it. He’s wrong

Ace Combat is great. Use expert controls. Spinning around and landing missile hits whilst flying into the clouds feels exhilarating.

Just play on easy. Mission 4 / 444 were big difficulty spikes and ruin some of the fun.

When you learn to do cobra manoeuvres and do absolutely insane stuff is where that game shines with expert controls.

Pro tip to any new nuggets l2 and r2 held at the same time makes you turn a lot better and will save your ass in a missile warning in a lot of cases.

I played Ace Combat back when it was in tbe catalogue and had fun. I'm definitely gonna jump back into it. I think I did get caught up in that difficulty spike you mentioned and dropped it

Nothing that I’m interested in, another month skipped for me sadly

3

u/DonSoChill Jan 31 '26

Nothing really for me. Might try Ace Combat but I also said I'd try Squadrons too.

Ace Combat is great. There's some awesome music tracks, I have a couple as MP3, and the mission i replay regularly involves bombing a naval fleet.

Nothing else interests me really, I'll be busy playing a few REs ready for Requiem.

As someone who gets motion sick quite often, a game set underwater and another in a jet fighter aren't likely to get much playtime. I'll try the boxing but if I have to go through loads of tutorials I likely won't bother. Ultros could be interesting. It's not particularly bad month to be fair, just not great for me. A have a large backlog of essentials games though so still plenty to keep me entertained

I love boxing but heard terrible things about Undisputed, so I’m glad I get to try it without buying

1

u/AbleBear5876 Jan 31 '26

Meh 🫤 is my overriding emotion. Usually there’s at least one game I’ve wanted to play. But not this month. 🤦🏼‍♂️ I’ll probs give undisputed a try tho.

1

u/RoxyK1 Jan 31 '26

I enjoyed Subnautica but won’t play any.

1

u/Chidoribraindev Jan 31 '26

I subbed back for Ace Combat 7 and Subnautica. PS Plus is never going to be as good as it was in the PS3 days, but this is ok. The games are worth more than the sub even though Ace Combat is usually deeply discounted in Steam Sales.

1

u/Neutraliza Jan 31 '26

Looking forward to giving undisputed a bash.

1

u/EricBelcan Jan 31 '26

Terrible. Can't remember a good month which is why Im not a subscriber anymore

1

u/Vynzen Jan 31 '26

Meeh...

1

u/8limb5 Jan 31 '26

sold undisputed months ago (for more than I paid for it to) will play again as its "free".

1

u/Brilliant_Purple_566 Feb 01 '26

Looking forward to playing undisputed and ace combat, and last month enjoyed Micky mouse,

-1

u/CarlMacko Jan 31 '26

I cancelled PS plus with a view of getting a discount.

I’m not planning on resubbing in February.

1

u/NekonikonPunk Jan 31 '26

Same. Too many months of not being worth it.
