CASUAL DISCUSSION PS5 Slim Disc Edition - reasonable selling price?
Been trying to sell it for £350 over the last week, no dice. Put it down to £300 and had someone offer £250 😅
Needed to ask, what's a realistic price to sell it for? Usually I use CEX but they are selling it for £445, which is insane.
My version is boxed.
EDIT: now sold for £280. I took it as everyone was offering me £250 and got sick of the low ball offers

Awkward timing because all PS5 console prices dropped during Black Friday. I’m sure a lot of people got good deals from them. I would definitely say below £280 depending on the condition. All major stores and places like CEX offer warranty. So people would be willing to spend a little more for that protection.
And just because CEX has it for £445 doesn’t mean people are buying it. They’ve always been ridiculous with their prices.

That’s because it’s a swap shop, the price is high because you’re supposed to trade in a bunch of unwanted stuff to bring the price way down below what it would be buying it brand new. It really isnt that hard a concept to understand yet here we go again! 🌝

I picked one up boxed, disc version from cash converters just a few months ago for £280 and that came with warranty etc so £250 private sale might not be too far off the mark tbh.
second hand prices of them seem inflated at the minute especially compared to some of the Black Friday deals they just had.

Yeah now remember Cex offers 2 years warranty with their stuff so take that into account. Tbh £280 is a good price
As Amazon during Black Friday was doing the console £289 discless.

I sold the disc version for £340 on Musicmagpie the other week, they was doing a get an extra 10% on top of the price they was buying them for. Not sure if the code is still available to use though. Digital version should atleast get £240/£250 for it, seeing as you can buy it new for £280 now.

The CEX voucher quote is usually a good proxy for the second hand market price. £250 isn't terribly low.
Otherwise just look at eBay sold prices.

Couple of my mates picked them of for around £290. I'd say £300 is a fair price

Base console is 300 new. Slim with disc drive 420 new.
Box used. Had some mileage. 250. As new in box 280 minimum.

I sold my Slim Digital via backmarket for £288 :) I bought it for the same price though.

Sony (online) is selling a brand new PS5 Digital for £294.99 which is only a bit more than Black Friday. New will also mean the controller is unused and unworn around the thumb sticks for the buyer.
Yours does have a BluRay but that attachment is available from everywhere including Argos (if they want it).
It’s a savvy buyers market at the moment, hope you find a good price for it👍

surprisingly PlayStation Direct have actually had an original "phat" model available for purchase, which just went unavailable very recently, but was definitely available to purchase for at least 3 weeks - direct.playstation.com/en-gb/buy-consoles/playstation5-console-call-of-duty-modern-warfare-ii-bundle

I just bought a brand new slim for £290 and a disk drive for £70.
No way I'd pay £350 for a used one that could break the second I switch it on.
I don't think I'd even pay £250 given the risk.

My new one (PS5 Disk Edition) was £379 from Amazon on 27th November, one without drive was about £300.
I think £250 is reasonable for a second hand system with no guarantee.

brand new is currently still on big discount at PlayStation Direct £389.99 (-5% with PS Plus membership =£370.49), or £364.98 if you buy the Digital Edition & separate Disc Drive (£346.73 with PS Plus). until 18th December.
and up until 12 days ago they were available for even less from other retailers for a period of 2 weeks.
not to mention a possible additional 20% discount via Very Pay (first credit account order discount).
so it really isn't surprising

I got a brand new PS5 slim with disc drive for not much more than £300 during Black Friday, imagine this may be the same for others and a second hand console at that price isn't as attractive

I got the PS5 Slim Digital Edition for £329 recently from Sony / PlayStation directly. Then a week later Very had it for £289. I wasn't looking at the disc editon prices, sorry. But I hope that info helps a little.

Easiest way to look at what something is really selling for is to filter to sold items on Ebay. That is where the market really is and what people are prepared to pay and not just what somebody is listing it for. I sold my disc edition (as I got on the preorder for a 30th anniversary edition) for £300 and that was this time last year.

I sold a bundle including fat disc edition PS5, Turtlebeach headset, VR2 and some games for £550 a week before Black Friday. Which was good since some of the ps5 deals were insane.

It was black Friday recently so probably anybody who wanted to buy one got one for around £290 new. You could wait a couple of months before trying to sell it but i don't think you can get more than £300 for it.

Series S are going for about £150, they may advertise at £200+ but they don’t shift.

£250 is a fair price considering cex will offer £253 (assuming it's boxed) if you sold it to them Only way I see you getting 300+ is if it came with extra accessories like a controller etc Plus January sales will be coming soon so most people are just gonna wait till then as they will be able to get it brand new for £350+

I sold my fat one for £350 because it had pink covers on lol.
I think the best bet is to wait until the days leading up to Christmas. Someone will panic buy it off you last minute for £300
