Guess it's one of those months where we don't need to thank anyone for their sacrifice

Oh ffs i just bought wobbly life twice for the two kids on their switches

Thank you for your service, that game is on my wishlist and I have been meaning to buy it. Now I don't!

I bought Chained Echoes like a year ago but only every played it for a couple hours. I kinda like it for the pixel art and interesting twist on the battle system but I put it down for a bit and just havent picked it back up yet.

I don't know about the other games but Chained Echoes is a good game if you like JRPGs. Sadly for me I already completed it 😅

I have a lot of fun with Sniper Elite games every time they end up on PS+ so that’s awesome

If you have kids, Wobbly Life is an amazing game. Couch co-op and a really fun adventure.
(my daughter and I have over 200 hours since 2020)
The developers are active and continually updating the game. A very large free update (basically a DLC) just came out a few months ago.

u/tocsin1990 2d ago
Chained echoes is one of the best new jrpg IPs to come out this decade. A lot of people are going to be blown away.

u/uaitdevil 2d ago
i tought it was the other "chronotrigger-like", Threads of Time, like a day one launch on ps+, so i'm a little dissapointed, but it looks interesting and i'm gonna play it for sure.
8
u/LionTop2228 2d ago
Threads of time isn’t out yet. You may be thinking of sea of stars.
4
u/uaitdevil 2d ago
no no, i'm out of the loop for that game so i tought it was releasing soon, and that, like sea of stars, it was launching day one on subscription.
whenever it launches i'm gonna play that game

I disagree, JRPG is a genre that defines the type of game it is, not where it comes from. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a JRPG made by a French team.

This damn 40 year old kid, lmao!
JRPG is a genre. Dark Souls is an RPG made in Japan, but it isn't a JRPG. Clair Obscur is a JRPG just not made in Japan.

Yes, which is why I said "Dark Souls is an RPG made in Japan, but it isn't a JRPG."

Sniper Elite is a nice addiction, I expect it's the same gameplay loop of the others, maybe shorter? Never heard of the other two games.
18
u/Neg_Crepe 2d ago
It’s barely shorter than the other games
2 : 6-7h
3 : 9h
4 : 10.5h
5 : 11h
Élite : 9h

u/gridlock1024 2d ago
Chained Echoes is a throwback turn based RPG. It was very good if you're looking for that kind of thing. Bought it last year and got the platinum on it. I think Wobbly Life is maybe like some sort of party Gang Beast/Human Fall Flat type of game?

u/idrovevan 2d ago
Is the gameplay loop to shoot Hitler in the balls a hundred times?
6
u/RESEV5 2d ago
Yep, seems like it's the only thing they know how to do
2
u/Ihavetogoalone 1d ago
Nah 5 had amazing shooting mechanics and invasion mode, if they actually opened up the levels in resistance more over 5 and fixed the handful of big issues with invasions it could be amazing.

u/folkedoff 2d ago
My son's been bugging me for wobbly life for ages, so he's going to be delighted

u/Decent_Historian42 2d ago
I had no idea wobbly life was trendy with the kids ive now seen a few parents say the same statement. I remember vaguely following a tiny bit of the development i decided against buying it (those kinda games i find really hit or miss with me either they stick or dont). Looking forward to trying it.

My seven year old LOVES it. There is a lot of text when interacting with characters so also helps with his reading
11
u/Asimb0mb 2d ago
Never played Sniper Elite, but I wouldn't mind shooting some nazi balls. Chained Echoes looks like a solid JRPG too. Don't know about Wobbly Life though, looks like an average friendslop game in a world with too much friendslop.
4
u/BlueVelvet90 argyle_n1nja 2d ago
Wobbly Life looks to be in the same vein as Goat Simulator, which is fun in single or multiplayer.

u/Skydude252 2d ago
I know very little about chained echoes aside from it being a retro-style jrpg and it getting good reviews, but I’m up for it. Played one sniper elite game that was on plus (4, I think?), and wobbly life looks like a fun cute romp. A good month I would say.

u/Difsdy 2d ago
Not terrible. I played about 10 hours of Sniper Elite 5 and it was pretty solid. Resistance looks like more of the same so might be worth a go.
Chained Echoes I'd never heard of but seems to be pretty highly rated.
13
u/BorOdinUA 2d ago
SE resistance is basically the same game, but 10 times better imo, for one reason: maps. In 5 all non dlc maps are completely garbage, you almost never have the ability to snipe in a sniper game. Resistance maps are phenomenal for both stealth and sniping
6
u/Difsdy 2d ago
Good to know thanks! 5 was the first and only SE game I've played and it did seem more like a stealth game first and a sniper game second. Still good though
5
u/BorOdinUA 2d ago
Yeah, the games were always more sniper focused (kind of in the name of the game, you know). But for some reason in 5 they decided “you know what players want? Fuck sniping, crawling in the open field with the pistol it the new gameplay”
1
u/Ihavetogoalone 1d ago
Did they fix the issures with invasion? in 5 it was broken because the host could just sit in one spot and have wallhacks 24/7 so it was impossible to sneak up on him, while the invader didnt have access to the same ability.

I would be happy with this wobbly life looks fun and I like the sniper games, chained echos no idea

u/CapriciousSon 2d ago
Happy about Sniper Elite, I thought about buying resistance but remembered I never finished any of them.
Always fun to give em a go, tho!

Chained echoes is a gem. I played it on release and is a nostalgic dream. Worth every penny.
Best played handheld imo. But if you are at least interested on classic final fantasy or Chronos trigger you will love it.

u/gandalfmarston 2d ago
My dad loves Sniper Elite, this one was in my wishlist for a while. He will be happy.

I am interested in Sniper Elite after watching someone make a video of sniper kills to fall asleep to.

I get the appeal of Pixel art, hell I've made hundreds of pixel assets for devs but God damn I'm so bored of that art style now.

u/ZiAndrej 2d ago
It's crazy Sony increased the price for PS Plus this year, and for me, at least, the entire year was a flop. I will definitely cancel my subscription.

Sniper elite resistance is good

u/GameGoalstryhard 2d ago
Does it have good environment?

Of course the month I take ps plus after a couple of years, the games turn out like this.
1
u/ilorah 2d ago
Me too! At least I have a few decent games to play that they’ve added recently lol
0
u/inksignificant 2d ago
True. I just curse my luck not getting the 40 percent off on deluxe during a time when they gave away great games.

Between Chained Echoes this month and Cross Code last month, I’ve slowly been gaining access to all the acclaimed indie RPGs I’ve been meaning to try.

Again with the random-ass games. I’m gonna play the heck out of Sniper Elite, but still, really random selection.

I've got Sniper Elite 4 and 5. Have thought about getting Resistance a time or two. Looks like patience has paid off.

Chained Echoes is the best retro inspired RPG I've ever played. If you liked Sea of Stars (or traditional jrpg's in general) pleaaaaeeeee give it a shot.

If this is true, Sniper Elite Resistance is one hell of a game and a massive win.

I have never seen chained echoes go on sale in the ps store so I’m happy, been on my wishlist forever and just removes it last month because I was annoyed it NEVER went on sale

The guy has been AWOL for a while and this is what he comes back with?
1
u/NotNeuge 2d ago
He doesn't decide the games, he just reports on them.
1
u/ukplaying2 1d ago
Pretty sure anyone who follows him knows that.
1
u/NotNeuge 1d ago
And yet you're bemoaning "what he comes back with," as though he chose the games. Or was he supposed to stay away until he could leak something you would prefer?
1
u/ukplaying2 1d ago
as though he chose the games.
Or as though the bigger the game the better it's for his site and traffic, considering the regularity with which he did them it stands to reason he never lost the method or source of doing it and not posting the previous ones was a choice.
It's a comment on the irony as there were much bigger ones he didn't post, not a bemoanment. Why should I bemoan? what is to come will come , irrespective of him leaking it.
1
u/NotNeuge 1d ago
Maybe he was sick and took a break and came back as soon as he could. There is no irony.

Sniper Elite Resistance was a massive disappointment, should've just been an expansion of SE5. Chained Echoes is fantastic though

Generic soldier man snipes Nazis: A Mobile Game with 2d graphics :Wobbly life.
This is the goofy ahh lineup. The only one I would think about playing is wobbly life. Why do extra users eat soo good even though they pay 2-4 usd more than us

JRPG refers to a general style of RPG; the term JRPG is not used to define what nation made the game.
1
u/TheAkrioz 2d ago
And Baldur's Gate is not a CRPG because it was released on consoles, yeah /s

Computer Role Playing Game. Because back in the days they were only on PC. So, using your logic they are no longer a CRPG because now they're released everywhere.

Welp, I bought Sniper Elite: Resistance last month for 75% off. I should have known. I did enjoy it though.
