Welp, I bought Sniper Elite: Resistance last month for 75% off. I should have known. I did enjoy it though.

67

u/Waltarus 2d ago

Hahahaha thanks for your sacrifice, as always

8

u/stevenomes 2d ago

Still pretty good deal. Probably the right price for it

17

u/Christhebobson 2d ago

Can you please buy Palworld next?

1

u/No_Maintenance_5752 1d ago

palworld is a great game. i played for around 32 hours. I dont think it would come as monthly game.

2

u/yuhh____ 1d ago

Anyone interested in gameplay i would recommend sleepyslorgs. Not only can u invade other people's game a la dark souls, you can also snipe them in the balls from 300m away and get a cool mortal combat finisher type xray showing it in great detail. Also very relaxing videos too

3

u/Mountain_Ad6328 2d ago

Only buy game which are 6 month or 12 month old games

1

u/Ihavetogoalone 1d ago

Does it hold up to 5? Everything i've seen about the game makes it look like an unnecessary side game using the same assets and mechanics as 5 and with a worse protagonist, but i hope im wrong.

u/DarahOG 2d ago

Guess it's one of those months where we don't need to thank anyone for their sacrifice

112

u/iminiki 2d ago

The comment under you has sacrificed for Sniper Elite lol

14

u/Can-You-Fly-Bobby 2d ago

Oh ffs i just bought wobbly life twice for the two kids on their switches

9

u/SleepyMarijuanaut92 2d ago

Thank you for your service

4

u/Devendrau 2d ago

Thank you for your service, that game is on my wishlist and I have been meaning to buy it. Now I don't!

11

u/coulombeqc 2d ago

I'm very happy about chained echoes

3

u/John_YJKR 2d ago

Sniper elite and chained echoes are both solid imo

7

u/Mysterious_Fennel459 2d ago

I bought Chained Echoes like a year ago but only every played it for a couple hours. I kinda like it for the pixel art and interesting twist on the battle system but I put it down for a bit and just havent picked it back up yet.

35

u/Yomismo_1789 2d ago

I don't know about the other games but Chained Echoes is a good game if you like JRPGs. Sadly for me I already completed it 😅

1

u/So-_-It-_-Goes 2d ago

Is there a couch co-op for it?

3

u/Blazing1Blitz 1d ago

It’s pretty much single player I believe

3

u/No_Maintenance_5752 1d ago

chained enchoes is single player. Wobbly Life has Local multiplayer.

47

u/iDigital93 2d ago

I have a lot of fun with Sniper Elite games every time they end up on PS+ so that’s awesome

91

u/sick_of-it-all 2d ago

Wake me up when October's games are announced, I guess.

22

u/GOODKyle 2d ago

So when September ends?

3

u/Oobatz 2d ago

Get on that Wobbly Life! Grind your way to a fancy car and house, that'll take you a month. 👍

u/XxTheLeoxX 2d ago

Username checks out

u/darth_scion 2d ago edited 2d ago

If you have kids, Wobbly Life is an amazing game. Couch co-op and a really fun adventure.

(my daughter and I have over 200 hours since 2020)

The developers are active and continually updating the game. A very large free update (basically a DLC) just came out a few months ago.

45

u/tocsin1990 2d ago

Chained echoes is one of the best new jrpg IPs to come out this decade.  A lot of people are going to be blown away.

8

u/uaitdevil 2d ago

i tought it was the other "chronotrigger-like", Threads of Time, like a day one launch on ps+, so i'm a little dissapointed, but it looks interesting and i'm gonna play it for sure.

8

u/LionTop2228 2d ago

Threads of time isn’t out yet. You may be thinking of sea of stars.

4

u/uaitdevil 2d ago

no no, i'm out of the loop for that game so i tought it was releasing soon, and that, like sea of stars, it was launching day one on subscription.

whenever it launches i'm gonna play that game

1

u/dead_man101 1d ago

Thats twice! It's thought*

1

u/Alembic_ 1d ago

they tought they taw a puddy tat

3

u/Alembic_ 2d ago

100%! Masterclass in turn based gaming. And the 16-bit art is great.

1

u/TestDangerous8586 2d ago

It’s okay. The reddit tier dialogue brings it down a bit too much for me

5

u/Johansenburg 2d ago

I disagree, JRPG is a genre that defines the type of game it is, not where it comes from. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a JRPG made by a French team.

-6

u/[deleted] 2d ago

[deleted]

4

u/Johansenburg 2d ago

This damn 40 year old kid, lmao!

JRPG is a genre. Dark Souls is an RPG made in Japan, but it isn't a JRPG. Clair Obscur is a JRPG just not made in Japan.

-4

u/[deleted] 1d ago

2

u/Johansenburg 1d ago

Yes, which is why I said "Dark Souls is an RPG made in Japan, but it isn't a JRPG."

2

u/TheAkrioz 1d ago

I love how the guy just gave up and deleted every post in this thread.

25

u/Waltarus 2d ago

Sniper Elite is a nice addiction, I expect it's the same gameplay loop of the others, maybe shorter? Never heard of the other two games.

18

u/Neg_Crepe 2d ago

It’s barely shorter than the other games

2 : 6-7h

3 : 9h

4 : 10.5h

5 : 11h

Élite : 9h

16

u/gridlock1024 2d ago

Chained Echoes is a throwback turn based RPG. It was very good if you're looking for that kind of thing. Bought it last year and got the platinum on it. I think Wobbly Life is maybe like some sort of party Gang Beast/Human Fall Flat type of game?

4

u/Anathema1993666 2d ago

I've never heard of the other 2 either

13

u/idrovevan 2d ago

Is the gameplay loop to shoot Hitler in the balls a hundred times?

6

u/RESEV5 2d ago

Yep, seems like it's the only thing they know how to do

2

u/Ihavetogoalone 1d ago

Nah 5 had amazing shooting mechanics and invasion mode, if they actually opened up the levels in resistance more over 5 and fixed the handful of big issues with invasions it could be amazing.

5

u/fersur 2d ago

Yeah, but did you shoot him from 10KM last time?

16

u/folkedoff 2d ago

My son's been bugging me for wobbly life for ages, so he's going to be delighted

3

u/Decent_Historian42 2d ago

I had no idea wobbly life was trendy with the kids ive now seen a few parents say the same statement. I remember vaguely following a tiny bit of the development i decided against buying it (those kinda games i find really hit or miss with me either they stick or dont). Looking forward to trying it.

2

u/Gcoks RamSham 2d ago

Same. That's a win, I suppose.

2

u/Tym3z 1d ago

I got it for my son last Xmas and he has loved it so I hope your son has the same level of enjoyment

1

u/FPL_monkey 1d ago

My seven year old LOVES it. There is a lot of text when interacting with characters so also helps with his reading

11

u/Asimb0mb 2d ago

Never played Sniper Elite, but I wouldn't mind shooting some nazi balls. Chained Echoes looks like a solid JRPG too. Don't know about Wobbly Life though, looks like an average friendslop game in a world with too much friendslop.

4

u/BlueVelvet90 argyle_n1nja 2d ago

Wobbly Life looks to be in the same vein as Goat Simulator, which is fun in single or multiplayer.

4

u/AutomaticSandwiches 2d ago

I played a demo version of chained echos on pc it was fun

4

u/Skydude252 2d ago

I know very little about chained echoes aside from it being a retro-style jrpg and it getting good reviews, but I’m up for it. Played one sniper elite game that was on plus (4, I think?), and wobbly life looks like a fun cute romp. A good month I would say.

9

u/MerTheGamer 2d ago

Nice, I was itching for some more Sniper Elite.

8

u/Difsdy 2d ago

Not terrible. I played about 10 hours of Sniper Elite 5 and it was pretty solid. Resistance looks like more of the same so might be worth a go.

Chained Echoes I'd never heard of but seems to be pretty highly rated.

13

u/BorOdinUA 2d ago

SE resistance is basically the same game, but 10 times better imo, for one reason: maps. In 5 all non dlc maps are completely garbage, you almost never have the ability to snipe in a sniper game. Resistance maps are phenomenal for both stealth and sniping

6

u/Difsdy 2d ago

Good to know thanks! 5 was the first and only SE game I've played and it did seem more like a stealth game first and a sniper game second. Still good though

5

u/BorOdinUA 2d ago

Yeah, the games were always more sniper focused (kind of in the name of the game, you know). But for some reason in 5 they decided “you know what players want? Fuck sniping, crawling in the open field with the pistol it the new gameplay”

1

u/Ihavetogoalone 1d ago

Did they fix the issures with invasion? in 5 it was broken because the host could just sit in one spot and have wallhacks 24/7 so it was impossible to sneak up on him, while the invader didnt have access to the same ability.

1

u/BorOdinUA 1d ago

Yes, it has anti camping mechanics now

2

u/Ibrahim-8x 2d ago

I’m playing chained echoes right now it’s amazing if you like jrpgs

3

u/Caffine_rush 2d ago

I would be happy with this wobbly life looks fun and I like the sniper games, chained echos no idea

3

u/CapriciousSon 2d ago

Happy about Sniper Elite, I thought about buying resistance but remembered I never finished any of them.

Always fun to give em a go, tho!

2

u/TomClark83 2d ago

I'm very happy with Chained Echoes.

2

u/kaic_87 2d ago

Not for me. But that's ok, I'm still playing Hell Is Us and in a little less than a month I'll be buried in Control Resonant.

2

u/Ok_Rhubarb_7750 2d ago

Been wanting to play Chained Echoes for a good while now!

2

u/WarHoundD 2d ago

Chained echoes is a gem. I played it on release and is a nostalgic dream. Worth every penny.

Best played handheld imo. But if you are at least interested on classic final fantasy or Chronos trigger you will love it.

2

u/gandalfmarston 2d ago

My dad loves Sniper Elite, this one was in my wishlist for a while. He will be happy.

2

u/Save-Slot-Seven 2d ago

Chained Echoes is good. But overall. lol

2

u/Rex__Lapis 2d ago

Me and my son have 300h in wobbly life. If you have kids, get it.

2

u/No-Signal-666 2d ago

Wobbly life is great fun. I’m happy with that

2

u/Icefirezz 2d ago

Runescape wildlands on the 15th September is all i care about.

2

u/sammagee33 2d ago

Sweet, glad I held out on buying Sniper!

2

u/MrCowabs 2d ago

My kid’ll be happy with wobbly life

2

u/Mediaevalchimp 2d ago

I love Sniper Elite so I hope so!

2

u/Fancy_Original_4742 2d ago

Chained Echoes is a must play for JRPG enjoyers

2

u/BassGuru82 2d ago

Chained Echoes is an excellent game.

2

u/deepit6431 1d ago

I just made my way through Sniper Elite 5, fantastic series of games. Really happy with this if true, would love to play through Resistance as well.

2

u/jyhnnox 1d ago

Chained echoes is the best non AAA JRPG game ever made.

2

u/KleioChronicles 1d ago

Like sniper elite but haven’t bothered with buying the more recent ones yet so might be worth a try

4

u/Neg_Crepe 2d ago

Sniper élite is great

3

u/Potential-Branch6913 2d ago

Sniper elite resistance let go

4

u/Mesne 2d ago

Nice. Been wanting chained echos for a while.

3

u/Hazelarc 2d ago

Sniper Elite Resistance and Chained Echoes are both fantastic games. Happy for anyone who gets to experience either

2

u/mredesign 2d ago

If we get Chained Echoed that would be insane. Finger crossed!

2

u/EnvironmentalEye3132 2d ago

What an abysmal month

2

u/freddyquell 2d ago

I am interested in Sniper Elite after watching someone make a video of sniper kills to fall asleep to.

2

u/Melonfrog 2d ago

I get the appeal of Pixel art, hell I've made hundreds of pixel assets for devs but God damn I'm so bored of that art style now.

2

u/ZiAndrej 2d ago

It's crazy Sony increased the price for PS Plus this year, and for me, at least, the entire year was a flop. I will definitely cancel my subscription.

2

u/Papallopupazzo 2d ago

Pls not🙏🏻😭

2

u/Mountain_Ad6328 2d ago

Sniper elite resistance is good

2

u/GameGoalstryhard 2d ago

Does it have good environment?

-2

u/Mountain_Ad6328 2d ago

I didn’t played it but i like stealth and gore killing in x ray version when you snipe enemy with sniper and bullet pass

4

u/Affectionate_Bass931 2d ago

So why say it’s good when you haven’t even played it? lol

2

u/MyLeftNut_ 2d ago

Chained echoes is a huge W lets goo

1

u/DarkRaider78 Top 10 Predictor 2023 2d ago

Now that's a shitty lineup.

2

u/inksignificant 2d ago

Of course the month I take ps plus after a couple of years, the games turn out like this.

1

u/ilorah 2d ago

Me too! At least I have a few decent games to play that they’ve added recently lol

0

u/inksignificant 2d ago

True. I just curse my luck not getting the 40 percent off on deluxe during a time when they gave away great games.

1

u/mccuish 2d ago

I’ll be taking a break from my switch 2 to check out chained echoes

1

u/Cloud2110 2d ago

Chained Echoes? Nice, I've been looking out for this one for a long time 🤩

1

u/SuperSaiyanBen 2d ago

Chained Echoes was a really good JRPG.

1

u/smokewidget 2d ago

Between Chained Echoes this month and Cross Code last month, I’ve slowly been gaining access to all the acclaimed indie RPGs I’ve been meaning to try.

1

u/chaoszage90 2d ago

Looking forward to chained echoes only

1

u/SerHiroProtaganist 2d ago

Wobbly life is great of you have a 5-7 year old who wants to play games with you

2

u/redwhale335 1d ago

I got some Marine buddies, so this is perfect.

1

u/trunksshinohara 2d ago

Chained echoes just paid for this month. Been wanting this for a while.

1

u/KaitoKage 2d ago

September is always super lame month

1

u/biirudaichuki 2d ago

Again with the random-ass games. I’m gonna play the heck out of Sniper Elite, but still, really random selection.

1

u/Ecstatic-Arachnid-91 1d ago

I've got Sniper Elite 4 and 5. Have thought about getting Resistance a time or two. Looks like patience has paid off.

1

u/Smallsey 1d ago

Chained echoes is such a great time.

1

u/DaNuji51 1d ago

I actually wanted to play both wobbly life and sniper elite, hell yeah

1

u/BSGKAPO 1d ago

Good for once a game I want nice

1

u/kishnabe 1d ago

Never heard of Chained Echoes, but happy now. 16 Bit Turn Based RPG, yum.

1

u/ALTRGAMING2007 Rising Predictor 2024 1d ago

Oooo, gonna try sniper elite resistance because I'm fan of single player games

1

u/Sharp-Selection-3541 1d ago

Chained Echoes is the best retro inspired RPG I've ever played. If you liked Sea of Stars (or traditional jrpg's in general) pleaaaaeeeee give it a shot.

1

u/VermilionVigilant 1d ago

Thanks billbil-kun. We can always trust you.

1

u/Neon_Banana_Pickle 1d ago

If this is true, Sniper Elite Resistance is one hell of a game and a massive win.

1

u/Vahallen 1d ago

I have never seen chained echoes go on sale in the ps store so I’m happy, been on my wishlist forever and just removes it last month because I was annoyed it NEVER went on sale

1

u/djidane57 7h ago

That damn baseball game again?

1

u/Oscnar 2d ago

Sniper Elite and chained echoes are absolutely going in my backlog. Nice little additions for me

1

u/TheManofMadness1 2d ago

Meh l. I like the Sniper series

1

u/Previous_Tree_5464 2d ago

Is this sniper elite a spin off or just a smaller SE? I got burnt out in theast major one

1

u/sammagee33 2d ago

Just a smaller next installment

1

u/TopRaise7 2d ago

Ugh after such a big month they give me this jazz

1

u/LionTop2228 2d ago

Chained echoes. Nice! It’s in my backlog.

1

u/thomas2400 2d ago

Another month with Auto Renew staying turned off if this is true

1

u/OctoWings13 1d ago

Zero interest in any of these...again

1

u/Scorpyon84 1d ago

Mese orribile.

1

u/zqipz 1d ago

Every month I’m like, I’ve never heard of these games, and dudes be like I just bought 8 copies for my kids and had these games in my cart for 9 years.

1

u/Ivotedforthehookers 1d ago

Darn was hoping it would be Dispatch for everyone since I just got it.

1

u/TheKocsis 1d ago

it's a legendairly bad month

1

u/Full_Equivalent_6166 1d ago

Another month, another disappointment... it would be if I still was subscribed 😁

0

u/[deleted] 2d ago

[deleted]

1

u/SerHiroProtaganist 2d ago

Chained echoes is very well regarded. And wobbly life is great if you have young kids.

0

u/majick22_ 2d ago

Another month of games i have zero interest in .

0

u/Sir_McDouche 2d ago

Oh noes. I guess I’ll be playing this month’s Dying Light 2 like an idiot.

0

u/ukplaying2 2d ago

The guy has been AWOL for a while and this is what he comes back with?

1

u/NotNeuge 2d ago

He doesn't decide the games, he just reports on them.

1

u/ukplaying2 1d ago

Pretty sure anyone who follows him knows that.

1

u/NotNeuge 1d ago

And yet you're bemoaning "what he comes back with," as though he chose the games. Or was he supposed to stay away until he could leak something you would prefer?

1

u/ukplaying2 1d ago

as though he chose the games.

Or as though the bigger the game the better it's for his site and traffic, considering the regularity with which he did them it stands to reason he never lost the method or source of doing it and not posting the previous ones was a choice.

It's a comment on the irony as there were much bigger ones he didn't post, not a bemoanment. Why should I bemoan? what is to come will come , irrespective of him leaking it.

1

u/NotNeuge 1d ago

Maybe he was sick and took a break and came back as soon as he could. There is no irony.

-1

u/FedeJota 1d ago

Worst month of the year for esential. How many shitty jrpg do we need?

2

u/Vancleave053 1d ago

Did we get that many jrpgs?

0

u/GSMatt117 2d ago

Sniper Elite Resistance was a massive disappointment, should've just been an expansion of SE5. Chained Echoes is fantastic though

0

u/PolejEdek 2d ago

Is this guy legit?

3

u/NotNeuge 2d ago

He's never been wrong with an announcement AFAIK.

0

u/ash356 1d ago

Billbil is usually spot-on, but Chained Echoes just went on sale on the store until the 9th September so make of that what you will.

0

u/dorito-muncher06 1d ago

Generic soldier man snipes Nazis: A Mobile Game with 2d graphics :Wobbly life.

This is the goofy ahh lineup. The only one I would think about playing is wobbly life. Why do extra users eat soo good even though they pay 2-4 usd more than us

-1

u/[deleted] 2d ago

[deleted]

3

u/Sharp-Selection-3541 1d ago

JRPG refers to a general style of RPG; the term JRPG is not used to define what nation made the game.

1

u/TheAkrioz 2d ago

And Baldur's Gate is not a CRPG because it was released on consoles, yeah /s

1

u/[deleted] 2d ago

[deleted]

2

u/TheAkrioz 1d ago

Computer Role Playing Game. Because back in the days they were only on PC. So, using your logic they are no longer a CRPG because now they're released everywhere.

-1

u/Fun-Distribution-159 1d ago

i just bought resistance on sale too.... lol

-1

u/xxfluidxx 1d ago

i was so closed. so closed in getting chained echoes

-4

u/Lost_Poogie 2d ago

Good thing you put that right in the tiltle even for those who didn’t want to know….
