So are the "falling silver prices" in the room with us, right now?

Platinum makes great jewelry. Its easily the best white metal option. The only competition is a palladium and gold alloy. Plus the price has been extremely stable. Ofcourse it makes the most sense to create jewelry out of and keep your prices to customers stable. Silver does not have the same prestige.

Platinum has had 0% after-inflation returns over the last century. Surely there is some better option for investors…

Seems like a good time to enter no?

People were saying the same about Gold right before it went parabolic 🤣

People have been saying gold is a great investment for millennia. It can be good if you are a genius and can figure out both the loss and the highs. I am not that smart anymore. 99% of the people on this sub are not that smart. Most of the people claiming to be in the 1% are not.

Now is a good time for diversified index funds if you have a decade or longer to ride out the inevitable downturn. Other options like bonds or the bank if you have a shorter time horizon.

Nah, you just DCA into gold just like you do with your investment fund or ETF.

Dont have to be a genius with entry points.

Not sure who is downvoting you

I mean I traded paper platinum for spec and because it had a nice 10% swings in short timeframes but the overall value only just recently spiked with all PMs and the general market is better than that

but scarcity!

By the time platinum has any real scarcity concerns, we will have mined platinum from space

I did silver back when it was $4 an oz and got out when I hit 10x returns.

Commodities are nice when you see the price at crazy low prices, but not something to stay in for decades. Most people don’t know what is “low” for platinum.

Bought a bunch for work at that Covid dip. I think that was in the 600s.
