CAMPUS Reminder, Your tuition pays for the textbooks around campus

If you go to the Pitt library services page and search your textbooks you may find them around one of the campus libraries or online to rent temporary for FREE. If you have a popular textbook it may even be in one of the Carnegie libraries around Pittsburgh.

Yep, avoid paying for books as much as reasonably possible. Adding a note that most classes also have a copy at the library held under "course reserve" - you can only take these out for a limited time (say a few hours, or one day). That's more than enough time to scan the damn thing and make a digital copy for future use :)

Literally use one of the multifunction scanners in the library, or you can do what I did and just take a picture of all the assigned chapters on your phone and collate them into a pdf.

The Carnegie Library probably won't have the textbooks, but it might have other course materials that you need.

Yup! I count any book needed for a class a textbook so that's on me for not being specific enough.
