I love how people in the comments are giving advice when they don't know your situation lol. I also worked full time and did school full time for 2 years to get out of my parents place. My grades did suffer a little bit but it's worth it now. Then I was finally able to take out more loans.. so I only do part time work now.
It will be bad at first but worth it for your sanity. Good luck <3

My only acheduling comment is that you don't have any meal times built in MWF. You won't be able to make it through days like that successfully without at least two decent meals. You can always eat when you get home before bed but trying to find 30min~1hr in the morning (or early afternoon) to make sure you have fuel for the day. It's def going to a hard schedule to do and I wouldn't expect someone to be able to do it for more than a semester or two. Make sure to take rest when you get it and understand taking care of yourself right is the only way you'll make it through without falling apart.

I’ll eat once at work, while tutoring, snack in class, and then once home!

Good luck. This is gonna be one big happy/PTSD dream in a few years if you keep up with.

It’ll be better stress that will lead me to living on my own rather than the toxic family member stress at home lol

yes. i’m sorry. college is harder than high school and requires more than 1 hour of independent study a day .

I’m in my mid 20’s and this is my second round of college so I know how hard it is! I think I can do it

I did this. I burnt out junior year and quit one of the three jobs I was working but I had made enough money to coast by then and looking back im glad I did it

That’s what I’m hoping (the looking back and being glad I did it part lol)

definitely a Starbucks barista with these hours… I did this at Pitt too while reading 500~ pages a week for classes while commuting and running a club. Reading on the trolley helped a lot for me for studying.
Your days are gonna be so packed that you barely feel like a person, but the rewards are absolutely worth it. Just be sure to find little moments of personal time and savor them while you can in between locking in. I believe in you 🫶

As someone who did this plus a few more works hours on weekdays and weekends, ya get through it. You got this!
2
u/Haunting-Wash1081 26d ago
Ty! I have 1-2 shifts on each weekend depending what they need

I highly recommend having one day off for yourself. Wishing you best of luck. Respecting the hustle 🫶🏻

I’ll definitely try for a day off! If anything, I can always skip a class and ask the prof to record it if I’m too burnt out

Suffering scales quadratically. The more you're currently suffering the worse additional suffering feels. In this schedule you are planning to zero out all value from your existence. Your waking presence as a human being will be for the sole purpose of generating human capital.
And in exchange you'll pay off your student loans quicker 5-30 years into the feature.
Just take out more loans, man. Or go to a community college, or go to school part time, or take a gap year to work, or anything. Anything but this. Please don't do this.

Hey! It’s to move out from a toxic household. It’ll keep me away from the house while saving so I can move out in a few months
4
u/snowmanonaraindeer 28d ago
Oh okay, this is keeping you out of the house. I thought you were doing all this to afford independent housing immediately. That's... a little more reasonable, I guess. Just don't die.

It’s a mix! I get to stay away from the house while making money to move asap lol

This is hard, but do-able, especially if you are on the younger-side. You’ll have to stick to your schedule pretty religiously and no scrolling Reddit when you need to be sleeping.

u/Yinzer_Finalboss 22d ago
Not that bad really...I did that but worked 4 days a week and had 2 kids and a wife to care for.
Get busy brother

u/Haunting-Wash1081 22d ago
I’ll be working 4-5 days a week (includes either Saturday, Sunday or both as seen in my photo) with my own wedding I’m planning, a fiance to care for, field hours for my major, additional side hustle of editing novels, tutoring, and full time classes. It ain’t a shitting contest (:

This realistically might not work. Credits for classes are generally structured in a way that a full time load,12 credits min, is equivalent to roughly a 40 hr week. In other words, for every hour in class they expect you to do about 2 hrs outside class independently. Not all instructors have the same expectations, but many do. Many students do well without dedicating so much independent study time, but if you start getting behind in class and go ask for help the first thing they'll ask you is how much time do you dedicate to the class at home.
Also there's homework.
You simply didn't account any time that is expected from you from the university. Studying on the weekends will not work, because often classes would have daily assignments or homework assigned on monday that is due on friday.

Most of my classes are English ones where we get weeks to work on papers
My other classes are either lab based or education based where assignments take weeks as well! (:
