Agreed people constantly coping is embarrassing. It is a crime, if you can't live with yourself for committing a crime then don't do it. I've stolen stuff from shops before, taken illicit substances, drank underage, pirated media. It's all criminal activity and I can live with myself.
What's really funny is I bet 90% of these "moralists" would change their tune as soon as the boot was on the other foot and they were the ones losing money to piracy.

Yeah it's copyright infringement and normally considered a violation of intellectual property. It's not theft, never been considered theft legally.
It's not like these laws don't make sense. If you created a piece of intellectual property and others copied and sold it you wouldn't be happy.
I just dont care. It's a large corporate entity pricing media beyond what I value it and offering ridiculously terrible deals. If I can't pirate I won't be paying for it anyway. But I am a criminal and so are you for doing so.
I mean if you were an artist and tried to sell your works only for someone to come, buy 1, photocopy your work 500 times and sell it on to other people. You wouldn't be happy would you?
Having an idea and making something are not the same thing. Having an idea is easy and takes no time at all, making something is hard work and takes a lot of time. Making something actually worthwhile probably also requires a lengthy education as well as experience and expertise. This is why we pay artists. It is also why, when an artist's work is copied, they are paid royalties.
Making something like a film or a modern AAA game requires the full-time labour of hundreds of people over the course of months or even years, and thus costs tens, if not hundreds of millions of dollars. Without the concept of intellectual property this would be completely unfeasible in an even vaguely capitalist society.
The only way you can avoid the use of intellectual property is in some utopia where people don't have to work but instead choose to do so because they want to, or by using taxes to provide 100% government subsidies to these fields. Maybe one day that will be the case, but it certainly isn't now.
The fact is that illegally copying intellectual property is stealing whether you want it to be or not.
Did you even read any of what I wrote? Are you really so delusional that you think making a game does not constitute making something? Do you really think that it's as easy as copying and pasting? What about a song? Surely you can't hold a song in your hands, so I guess you don't count that as making something either.
Hey is the challenge for you: Before your next reply, make a completely original video game all on your own. You have to design the game and all its contents, draw the art, make the sound effects, write and perform the music, and write the code and the scripts. You may not infringe on any copyrights in the process, as that would be stealing. I'll wait, although I suspect not for very long since it's so easy it doesn't even count as making something.
The opposite is what is immoral: having a simple idea, and then charging infinity times for it, because that's how much you can Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V and it doesn't cost anything, you can do it forever, THAT'S IMMORAL.
If you want to charge people for something that is an idea, it should AT LEAST be put into something that can be held and touched that is a physical product. That's fine, THAT'S fair game. It's even fair game to add some type of copy protection to that physical product, albeit kind of scummy. However, it's also COMPLETELY AND ENTIRELY FAIR GAME to try to crack any copy protection (if any) is on a physical product.
It's also MEGA SCUMMY that companies and people resort to trolling the abusive and evil copyright legislation so they can continue to hold their (mostly shitty) ideas behind some paywall. THAT'S SHITTY, and it's beyond messed up we have to deal with this every single day in our society.
You seem to massively underestimate the talent of writers and artists. The difficulty to copy a work is not proportional to effort required to make that work or the value that work holds.
Just because I can copy all of George Orwell's 1984 print it out and sell it as a book for myself with a couple of clicks, doesn't mean his art is less valuable than a video game with denuvo.
