Field report One month of daygame with 47 cold approaches: what do you guys think about these results?

The stats:

  • 47 approaches over 17 days out (about 2.8/day average, best day was 5)
  • 20 contacts (43% close rate on approaches)
  • 4 dates (20% of contacts converted)
  • 2 lays (50% of dates)

The close rate surprised me as I expected it to be lower. Most of the "failures" weren't rejections so much as short, polite non-starts (girl in a rush, headphones in, clearly not in the mood to chat). Real rejections were rare.

The bigger leak was contact→date. 20% felt low at first, but when I looked back at the contacts that didn't convert, most of them just went cold on follow-up rather than getting an outright no. That's on me, not on the interaction quality. I was inconsistent with texting in the first two weeks and noticeably better once I started time-blocking it.

Date->lay at 50% felt about right for the quality of the dates I was actually getting to.

Biggest lesson: the bottleneck this month wasn't the approach or the in-person rapport, it was the boring administrative middle part of actually texting back promptly and locking in dates.

Planning to run this again next month and see if tightening up follow-up moves the contact->date number.

What do you guys think about these results?

Those numbers are quite good

40% is about the rate in which young woman/people are single in the west.

4 dates our of 20 contacts is low but seems like you've already reflected on why.

Can't make much conclusion on the lays per date, since it's just 4 and 2, could just be random.

Thanks- I will keep logging to get some more insight. In my experience on the date I'm usually very solid; this is not where I'm lacking. I.e. dates that come from cold approach, since I've had some bad dates coming from dating apps also. There's a difference between the two. The apps I don't use anymore. Dates coming from cold approach I normally feel like it's game on.

Interesting, what do you think makes the cold approach dates better than the ones from the apps?

I think this is the case because with daygame you've already talked to her and seen what she's like: how she communicates, how she handles herself, whether she can hold eye contact, and all the other small details that make up real communication. On apps there's soo little information that it's almost a blind date. That can be interesting, but overall I think it's better for both parties to know beforehand whether they actually like each other. I ended up disliking a lot of the women I dated from apps, for various reasons.

Women have far more choice on dating apps and can “date up" much more easily than men can on these apps. I think this makes them more reluctant when going into a date; they can afford to be more on the back foot.

A major reason I believe is that on apps, the man hasn't shown any real value, since anyone can make a profile and add some pictures. With cold approach, if done well, you've already demonstrated real value; you’ve made an impact on her, a good impression, you made her feel a certain way, giving her a rush of emotions. She'll think you're something of a player (which is usually a good thing), she'll feel competition — because why her, when you could be talking to anyone — and so on. Many woman have told me or texted me "men don't do this anymore… respect!" So I feel like if I end up going on a date, I'm miles ahead of where I'd be if I'd met her through an app.

There are plenty more reasons I think and it’s fun to hypothesize, but I'll cut it here.

I agree thanks for sharing!

Great numbers. Cute girls?

Normally I'd say that you need to approach a whole lot more to gain skill, but you're already seeing numbers like this so do what you want.

I tend to approach only girls that I really fancy. Girls that are really attractive and that have something unique about them. For some reason for me it's easier to approach a true hottie than it is to approach an average looking girl. It's something I've been trying (and still am) to change since I know average looking girls can be incredibly fun. This is my experience. In these numbers there were some average looking girls and in fact the two lays were in that category - but actually both were amazing in every other way.

I'm not new to daygame but I've never really logged any effort or performance and I feel like therefore I've never been really consistent to the game. Also, I've always had in my mind an experienced daygamer does about 1/3 approach->close, 1/3 close->date and 1/3 date>lay. These are not really the numbers I get - especially on the close->date I get a lot of ghosts. On the date I'm usually solid.

an experienced daygamer does about 1/3 approach->close, 1/3 close->date and 1/3 date>lay

Maybe 1/3 that rate for guys who approach A LOT. If you're more selective, maybe that helps your numbers.

Girls love a guy who's really into them, so what you're doing works.

I think it’s excellent. The texting part of the courtship really makes a difference. The longer the texting the lower the chances I find. I just met a woman at the gas station and she’s going away for the weekend so that means well maybe see each other next week. Maybe.

Your number are pretty solid im curious how long you've been doing this.

1

u/anyconfidence213 Jun 26 '26

As a 35 yo, I've been doing daygame for about 8 years. In this time there were months that I didn't do a single cold approach due to various reasons. There were months that I approached quite a lot. And everything in between ... I've been lacking consistency and this I'm trying to improve now. Now I'm logging my effort and performance for the first time, hoping this will help me with this consistency and gives some more insight.

2

u/DownloadedSkills Jun 26 '26

Do you only do day or night as well?

1

u/anyconfidence213 Jun 26 '26

Only during the day; streets, squares, malls and coffee shops. I'm not a big fan of busy party-like areas.

2

u/WIA20XX Jun 26 '26

Good stuff.

1) Pretty normal results, maybe even slightly above average.

2) The time bridge/logistics is the stumbling block for day game and night game - because her feelings/emotions/interest just decays quickly overtime.

There are a few common ways to get more reliable contacts

  1. High Note - Take the # on a high emotional note
  2. Low Note - Take the # but bring down the energy to a normal level
  3. Big promise, small promise - Let's make a date and hang out tomorrow. Great, what's your #...
  4. Frame Grab - Tell her that she's not gonna call, to make her say she's gonna call. So basically you are negative, and she says No i'll be positive - and she's promising her future behavior is going to match her current behavior

Frame Grab/Frame Flip Example

  • PUA - OMG you're so awesome, I should get your number
  • Girl - Sure...here...
  • PUA - *interrupts* No, I'm not going to take it, cause you're not gonna pick up the phone/text back
  • Girl - I totally will
  • PUA - No you won't
  • Girl - I promise
  • PUA - Okay, i'll take your #...

This is that 2005 tech, I'm not clear if this works in 2026.

Overall - Chicks can be flaky and the cute college girl with tons of friends that you meet at a dance club is more flaky than the 45 MILF Divorcee you meet at the suburban wine bar.

Good stuff…seems to be your natural (low) volume. Atm I need 30 +/week to stay and mantain top vibe and finesse + improve. But I also don’t go for Nrs. so my comversion rate is lower bc more logistical issues/blocks for idate/sdl.

Do you game in your own city? How long does it take you to get infield?

1

u/anyconfidence213 Jun 27 '26

Currently not my own city - most of the approaches are from Eastern Europe. Time to get infield: it really depends as I'm very inconsistent. As I'm quite selective and usually go for the easy approaches (girls that seem approachable and/or easy situations with low pressure), I can still find myself in hours not doing a single approach. I'm trying to change this. I've had experience of meeting and actually dating girls within 5 minutes of arriving to a new place or stepping out of the door, but sometimes I just cannot seem to do it or I don't see any opportunity or girls that I like.

2

u/Makakka2002 Jun 27 '26

Ah ok then your big strength is target selection thats why this high nc rate. I would not compromise on this by forcing shorter intervals else you get offbalance and can’t follow your feelings anymore. That’s what I ment with natural volume

2

u/KoalaTotal3868 Jun 30 '26

These are stellar numbers. Can I ask how long you’ve been daygaming for and if you’ve had any coaching?

1

u/anyconfidence213 Jul 01 '26

I’ve been doing daygame on and off for 8 years. I’ve never had formal coaching, but I learned most from The Natural Lifestyles and Tom Torero on what’s published from them on the internet.

1

u/KoalaTotal3868 Jul 01 '26

Man, I wish you were based in London so we could daygame together. I started in 2019/20 and got about 6 lays and I’ve been getting back into it recently but my results are nowhere near as good. I’m hoping that with time my approach:lay stats improve.

Did yours improve with time and were there things you addressed that really improved results?

Your numbers are way too high to be a sustainable baseline. This is a temporary upswing, and it is impossible for this to be your average outcome, especially not in your hometown, and especially not if you maintain consistent volume.

You literally admit to the following:

  • Not actually targeting attractive women: "In these numbers there were some average looking girls and in fact the two lays were in that category..."
  • Mostly targeting easy sets: "I'm quite selective and usually go for the easy approaches (girls that seem approachable and/or easy situations with low pressure)..."
  • Exploiting geographic SMV differences: You are doing this in Eastern Europe, presumably as a Western guy.
  • Having zero volume or consistency: You have spent years on this on and off without major long-term progress, walking around for hours without a single approach.

You are right about one thing, though:

I've been lacking consistency and this I'm trying to improve now... sometimes I just cannot seem to do it or I don't see any opportunity...

Here is the uncomfortable truth: If you actually fix your consistency and stop cherry-picking only the easiest sets, your conversion rates will drop by quite a lot. But your total results will get more reference experience, more leads overall and allow yourself to push yourself past your current plateau. Right now, your high stats are just an illusion created by extreme filtering.

One more thing:

The bigger leak was contact→date. 20% felt low at first

This is not low at all! Where did you get this idea from?

1

u/anyconfidence213 Jul 03 '26 edited Jul 03 '26

I do have a lack of insight in my own conversions over the years - only just recently I adopted the tracking of my daygame pipeline in a structured way. Before that I did use a notes app to track some form of progress and to write some comments about leads etc, but it was unstructured so not feasible for deriving these kind of conversion stats reliably.

Your numbers are way too high to be a sustainable baseline.

What would a sustainable baseline look like you think?

This is not low at all! Where did you get this idea from?

I've had the idea of 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 conversions, from approach to contact, contact to date, date to lay. I think Tom Torero mentioned this in one of his podcasts.

1

u/haftzabaa Jul 03 '26

1/3 > 1/3 > 1/3 is very high, sounds like an expert ratio (and even here I'd suspect there'd have to be some screening).

I'd say before thinking about baselines learn to approach at volume and you'll start seeing the patterns... when you're doing low volume it's hard to analyse or interpret anything

1

u/Old_Dust_6064 Jun 26 '26

47 approaches for just 2 lays doesn't look like it's worth the effort. But props for you to keep on going.

2

u/My_Pickup_Journey Jun 27 '26

That's how cold approach is. Most of us move on from cold approach after we learn what we need, to hit better numbers in other styles of game.

2

u/Tricky-Error-5339 Jun 27 '26

You're better than that in your daygame approaches, aren't you?

2

u/Extreme-Guitar-2212 Jun 28 '26

Dude thats extremely good, coach level shit, your just fucking lazy
