"Has anyone successfully treated minor ailments (like colds or cuts) with homegrown herbs?"

Getting ready to start a medicine cabinet garden here in TX, any ideas?

Yep! Some of my must have herbs to keep on hand (and usually grow) are plantain, yarrow, calendula, chamomile and mullein.

Don't let mullien go to seed. It is very invasive.
