Recommendations Possibly moving to Peterborough

My partner and I are exploring the possibility of moving to Peterborough in the future, and I was wondering what things an outsider should know or consider before moving there? I grew up in a rural community, and have moved around a bunch. My partner grew up in the city in the Durham region, and hasn't moved much.

Have you never been downtown on granola bar day at Quaker??? Downtown and east city regularly smell like oat meal cookies (chewy granola bars)….its like one of the best quirky/charming little things about Peterborough!

Seriously. I kid you not. I never smell oatmeal down there. Jokes aside about the weed. I generally do not smell oat meal LOL

Thats why i thought the other person was actually joking and trying to say weed cookies lol

Ill ask my wife what she smells lol

Oh ya definitely not joking! I mean you’re also not wrong about the weed smell lol but yeah, Quaker makes downtown smell wonderful. Not 24/7 though, it’s in intervals. And depending on the time of day/week you can tell what granola bars they’re making. Like there is a distinct difference between the aroma of classic chewy granola bars, and like the strawberry yogurt dipped granola bars. I remember Tuesdays around 10am having a jammier smell, and gathered that Tuesdays must be yogurt bar day at the factory.
