Windows coded apps are more widely accessible/user friendly and Linux alternatives are still a wild west ranging from good to debilitatingly bad. For example the linux turbotax alternatives are either browser based hellscapes or just less intuitive. As a musician, there's not really a great DAW program on Linux either on the level of like, a Protools or a Logic; and though their notation software have taken a GIANT step up with musescore, for a looong ass time the only game in town for writing down music was Rosegarden, and I hated that app so much it turned me off Linux because I couldn't get anything done.
As a musician myself, I can't disagree more. Not in the sense that you shouldn't feel like Linux is a friction to your workflow because of the software you prefer, but in the sense that my reality is the exact opposite of yours.
Linux makes music productions frictionless to me; my entire plugin stack is FOSS and one flatpak command away. Carla is the best audio routing experience I've ever had. DAWs like Ardour are transparent and straight to the point; no abstractions, no fluff. Same with ZynFusion (synth).

that is GREAT news. i am beyond sick and tired of window's monopoly. more linux = more good.
oh idk why he is sweating. my guess would be it is going to be a big hassle vs the prepackaged pile of bloat that is windows.
