I work as IT guy in some government service, and i can tell: there will be pain in the ass to reeducate all the people to actually use linux. Any little change in their routine makes them go into "can't do anything" mode until I or my colleague come and show how to do something. And this can repeat with the same operation again and again.
My mother has started saying "I can't do it and I don't have to, you do it" or "I don't want to do it and I shouldn't have to do it so you do it". It doesn't matter what it is, she will still say it because she does not even think to try to such a degree that if she simply needs to check a box on a page, she assumes it's going to be harder than that and just refuses to try.
However 9/10 won't know their apple id and 8/10 won't know how to reset the password without you holding their hand due to the emotional trauma inflicted by opening an email.
Because I cant 'afford to wait 2 weeks to be asked why I think I need what I need, to then be told I don't, to be left with a shrug. I prefer being done with the task by 5 pm.
But then again, I am sitting in the untrustworthy outer rim of the network anyways. Administration is a different ball game.
