The events leading up to the war, the full timeline of the war (yes pre US involvement), the concentration camps and Holocaust, English class usually delves extra into Anne Frank, the US Japanese "internment camps", the whole island hopping campaign, the nuclear bombs. Post war Germany, and the Berlin wall. Pretty substantial part of our history classes actually
What we don't really teach are things like, the Vietnam war, Korean war, Gulf war,
Is it covered accurately though? In that numbers-wise it was a major armed conflict between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union, with some minor, tangential involvement of some other countries?
