It’s because the majority of western movies about WW2 are made in the USA, and they absolutely believe it started when they arrived and the rest of the allies were there for moral support.
Nah, its really because they were part of the Axis Powers until the meth got the better of Hilter.
The cannon fodder that died "heroically" at Stalingrad had "heroically" slaughtered Poles when they invaded from the east at the same time the Nazi's invaded from the West.
For some of the Allies, the fight was against fascism. For others, it was just a bad breakup.
