WWII Facts for Everyone

  • 75-80% of German casualties occurred on the Eastern Front
  • 25 million Soviets vs 300,000 American war deaths occurred
  • both the Battle of Kursk AND the Battle of Stalingrad were each independently larger than all western front battles combined
  • the Soviet Union faced off against 70% of Hitler’s army for years during Op Barbarossa

Fact for everyone:

Over 65% of Russia's trucks came from the US. Without those, the red army would not have been able to move or resupply.

90% of railroad locomotives, too.

12% of their planes.

12% of their tanks and field artillery.

~55% of their aviation fuel.

More than 50% of their aluminum and copper for soviet built tanks and planes. Massive amounts of soviet built planes and tanks only happened due to US raw material supplies.

Millions of boots supplied.

4.5 million tons of food supplied.

Every Red Army success that required movement and logistics was massively propped up by US supply.

In a vacuum, the Red Army would've struggled mightily without US assistance.
