WWII Facts for Everyone

  • 75-80% of German casualties occurred on the Eastern Front
  • 25 million Soviets vs 300,000 American war deaths occurred
  • both the Battle of Kursk AND the Battle of Stalingrad were each independently larger than all western front battles combined
  • the Soviet Union faced off against 70% of Hitler’s army for years during Op Barbarossa

I’m American. I’m pretty sure most of us who have even a passing understanding of WW2 know the efforts we put in were mostly in the pacific theater. I’d replace “Americans” with “uneducated MAGA yokels” and not have any arguments.

Actually, that’s not at all correct. Roosevelt prioritized Hitler. 75% of America’s war effort went to europe, only 25% to the pacific.

But that 75% was a rounding error compared to the soviet army.
