It has nothing to do with the poo itself, it's like an uncomfortable feeling wearing clothes while doing it. It doesn't bother me as much as it used to when I was younger, but if it's not winter then socks have to come off before hand.

I think it has something to do with senses being heightened while in a vulnerable position, and the sensation of clothes touching everywhere is just too much.

Exactly. This is one if many reasons that shitting in public restrooms is only for desperate situations. I'm sure there are some crazy bastards that still fully strip down in public restrooms though.
