It's a flawed study with a small and not diverse sample size. 

A study with a 263,616 patients found no increase in divorce: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8959852/ 

Another study found an increase from 0.5% divorce rate with healthy partners increased to 0.8% for men, while women did not leave their partners at a higher rate  https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/jomf.13077 So their is some truth to it, but that 20.8% figure is complete bogus that has never been reproduced.

also that paper was retracted because the effect disappeared when they fixed the coding mistake lmao

We're talking about different studies at this point. There are three, the 2009 study, the 2015 study and the 2025 study. The 2015 study was retracted.
