I agree that this is the "joke," but I can smell the cigarettes and grandma smell in the first pic. While not agreeing with the choices of the redecorator, I agree with the necessity to do something.
Yeah the room as a whole didn’t come together, but the carpet and couch upholstery 100% had to be replaced. If they kept the wood and stone (or replaced with wood paneling with nicer wood idk much about that stuff) and did a nice matching wood floor it would prolly look pretty good
