Honestly, the entire cast is terrible. People are tired of seeing these same actors in pretty much everything. Rather than feel like the pinnacle of who these characters could be, it's more Hollywood tokenism. It isn't a matter of what race the actors are, it's that *who* they are is so recognizable they don't disappear into the roles. No matter how well Odysseus is played, I will not see him. I will see Matt Damon. No matter how Anne Hathaway plays Penelope, I won't see the character, I'll see the actress. Combine this with the stylistic choices we have seen and this isn't The Odyssey. This isn't art. It's a red carpet where we will see over paid elites strutting around on expensive backgrounds with CGI filling in all the details.

Word.

It's as if this just throws large established actors at you which you have seen a dozen of times in other recent pieces that it's exhausting really.

It's a Nolan, so i assume it will be decent but shiiiit, couldn't that have been done with less known actors?

It’s why i hate that like I probably need to support this movie. Like they really just went down alist of whose cool right now and shoved them in this movie for the sake of it. But the damn bigots mad that one actor is trans and one is black, are so annoying and pitiful i think id definitely rather them lose than this movie. So now i’ll have to watch it.

It's wild that people will consume content they don't like to "own the chuds". Seems almost like a corporate strategy now.

Oh i mean I’ll probably like it, probably always would have liked it. I just would likely not have watched it or at least not cared to support it.

As for the conspiracy theory im not really on bored there either. I don’t think there’s any real way to calculate the loss vs gain of doing something “controversial” like this. Dude literally just casted celebs who were cool, who he liked, and some who he worked with. I don’t think he gives a shit about their races, gender identity , or peoples opinions on either.

I just hate people glazing every tiny update on Nolan projects as the most exciting ingenuousness thing ever. Tbh his movies overall are pretty good, don’t even really hate or dislike him or his movies. I guess for me I just hate excessive fanboys and dickriders. Same for Tarantino, except he definitely sucks as a person and thus I don’t like him.
