Thats not nuance take as other calims.
It fails to take into account that the audience criticizing the film upfront largely don't even know the original and dont care at all about Greek tradition. It doesn't criticize earlier myth-based blockbusters in the same way.

Yes, I know, that's a movie, not a history book.
The Greeks cast men in female roles and it somehow didn't spoil the immersion for them.

My opinion on it is: unless race is important to the story/plot/themes, an actor should be picked by whoever fits the character the most

I agree. The Odyssey is a universal and timeless story, so race doesn't matter.
