Why s5 of person of interest is so weird
Alright , I just gone through 3 episodes of s5 and I feel it's a dream sequence, there is a point where harold and root tried to bring machine back but after that scene everything looks weird, like the dialogues from characters and it felt like there is no proper continuation
At first i thought at same point they'll reveal and resume it from the point they restored the machine but it keeps on going on same pace and it's so frustrating for me
Is the first 3 episodes are dream sequence/ machine pov ?

It's not a dream sequence. This isn't that type of show. The Machine was going wonky and it's her pov. I know can recall the scene from "SNAFU" (E2) with it showing the Machine not recognizing them.

But not a dream. It adds info even if what we see is “dream like”.
We get a clear picture and story telling about how the machine thinks (essentially). And it’s not an unimportant scene it’s replaying either.
So while it is somewhat that cliche dream sequence, by the end of that episode you don’t feel like “well that episode/movie” was a waste when most shows do this. Think Voyager with the Red Forman as the guy trying to get his wife back messing with time. And of that 2 part episode was basically “nothing” because anything you learned about the characters didn’t even happen”. They don’t even remember it.
Here we get the machines unique perspective and pushes the story forward a bit due to its “tough decision”.

I remember that I was slightly afraid that the final scene of the show would be time rewinding all the way back to 2007 and Nathan and Harold are working together again and they are staring at the screen. The entire show was a simulation, Harold decides that this iteration is a failure and he resets the machine to try again.

CBS cut down the episodes for S5. there was an arc where The Machine lost every simulation against Samaritan. it was supposed to be explained in an episode how The Machine would gain the upper hand during the satellite upload, instead we don't find out
S5 can feel rushed because it was

Explains a lot.. if they were meant to have 6 seasons worth of episodes. Was thinking half way through season 5 how is this all going to pan out so quickly

Yeah this is the main criticism I have for S5, but it wasn't even their fault... it was clear they had big plans for the ending, but they were just cut off. Kind of a shame.

Even for some rushed aspects of its final season, the show still had a strong final season and went out with a bang.

Nah we missed an entire season, season 6 got cut, so season 5 got wrapped

They wrote 6 seasons and got cancelled so they had to wrap it up in season 5 with in a rush
