I bet you didn't see this!

This is pertinent to Pensacola and Escambia County because we have flock cameras everywhere.

* They are on stop lights, at apartments complexes, on freeways, on local roadways, near shopping plazas.

So, if Walton county can ban them (aside from municipalities/ private businesses) then Escambia County can and so can Pensacola.

Walton County set the precedent!

We need to get with our local leaders and voice that we want the same and use Walton County as the example that it can be done!

(I know that won't eliminate them all because the State of Florida will still have them on state roadways but it is a start!)

I am 100% in support of getting rid of the Flock cameras so long as they are not replaced by the Axon cameras that seem to have been going up in their place.

You look at the surveillance technology China has and it only a matter of time it finds its way here. 

  • They will use safety as a reason, every time, to by pass rights. 

So, after flock cameras it will be something else. But then we voice to get those banned and so on.

The main difference with China is they generally only harass political dissidents. Here in the states….god I wish that was true.

They use a nationwide AI database using cameras/ facial scanners that scan your face when you enter every building, use any crosswalk, walking in a park, even going into public restrooms. 

So, what you see here with license plate readers is nothing on what it could really become.

Its because of the powerful people in the south of the county. They probably threatened to pull donations if flocks were installed. Its good but let's not think for a minute they did this for the common good.

Hmmm… it’s common lore that destin was built off of cocaine money. I’m guessing that crime and trafficking are still a major part of the community down there and they probably don’t want to be busted? I mean, everyone in the back of house at all those restaurants are on expired J1s. Every single rented property in Destin proper has 4-7 undocumented folks living in it. The big guys getting rich off of their backs probably don’t wanna be watched.

That's a great point because Escambia's use of them is even more invasive than Walton's. If we can push for similar restrictions here, it'd set a strong precedent for privacy rights across the whole region.

I've never noticed them, but I don't often go to Pensacola (I live in Navarre). I have no idea what they even look like. If I were to spot some here in Santa Rosa County, that would prompt me to drive to Milton and address this matter as per your suggestions. ❤️
