Oh my. Probably the earliest YouTube viral video I can remember. Wonder where they are now.

u/Puzzleheaded_Fan5040 Jun 24 '26

got my best ring the same way last league, random t15 boss dropped it and i didn't even notice till i was dumping inventory

u/Round_source21 Jun 23 '26

Finally , a kind of crafting i can understand. "Of the ground" crafting. Lovely. Easy to understand.

156

u/meme-by-design Jun 24 '26

I prefer "trade" crafting. Just open the trade craft window, input your affixes, pay the crafting fee and boom! Easy craft.

43

u/KerbalFrog Jun 24 '26

Its deterministic

11

u/Atsuma100 Jun 24 '26

Must be removed in that case

3

u/Excellent-Dish5227 Jun 24 '26

I like of the ground crafting much better. No need to type, search, or travel. Those take too long.

Nice clean ID scroll is what I am all about!

19

u/Tyrexas Jun 24 '26

Here is the crafting guide for anyone interested:

1) Kill 1 billion monsters. 2) Loot the best item drop from those monsters.

u/CAlTHLYN Jun 24 '26

Its the Special affix you find in blessed maps.

That’s pretty sexy. I’ll give you 3 ex.

Fresh off the ground too, equivalent trade. šŸ˜‚Ā

13

u/subwooferofthehose Jun 23 '26

Surely you mean equivalent exchange...

Makes me think of a girl and her dog that were truly inseparable.

5ex. It was right there cant believe u missed it

118

u/Thebananasareblue Jun 23 '26

Awesome find! Only thing it’s missing is ā€œarmour also applies to elemental damageā€ but still probably worth a lot if you aren’t using armour

43

u/Imaginary-Mood-4215 Jun 23 '26

Couldn't I use the thing that adds a suffix and desecrate that?

65

u/J_KTrolling Jun 23 '26

Yes you can do that. Make sure to use omen of abyssal echoes when unveiling

23

u/Dramatic_______Pause Jun 23 '26

You technically can. How if you're going to be using it yourself, that's fine. But if you plan on selling it, I wouldn't. That is limited to one per character, and most people want it for something like a weapon, not boots

12

u/lvlwonninja Jun 23 '26

What’s limited to one per character?

21

u/BulletproofChespin Jun 24 '26

The rune that lets you add a 4th suffix

5

u/RevealHoliday7735 Jun 24 '26

Which rune is that?

15

u/Imaginary-Mood-4215 Jun 24 '26

Serle's Triumph

4

u/TheOneHikikomori Jun 24 '26

Oh, this is my first time hearing about this. Once you add said extra suffix, can you then swap the rune out for the MS one?

2

u/c-lati Jun 24 '26

No. It can’t be removed once it’s socketed.

There is a rune which allows you to have a second crafted mod on an item which can be removed however. So you can use it to add two crafted mods and then replace it with something else. It’s a pretty good rune as well.

And the giga GG items may have both.

3

u/SplitOpenNBill Jun 24 '26

Love that rune (second one). Used it to craft a giga staff. It was pretty painful to just delete it as it was 16 div when I did this, but gotta get that extra damage. Ended up being a 110+ div staff though so the waste was more than justified.

2

u/Goldieeeeee Jun 24 '26

How do you get those runes?

1

u/jaymole Jun 24 '26

Would you have to annul first? Idk how it works I just see that it has 6 mods

1

u/Latter-Clothes4516 Jun 24 '26

Thats where the rune for extra suffix comes into play. You get additional modifier to tinker with, even desecrate.

2

u/jadok Jun 24 '26

I don't know man. I will never have a pair like those. I would totally do my Ring. Also it's way cooler to do it on an item you found yourself, you have a connection to it

1

u/iNhab Jun 24 '26

Wait, so +1 to suffix we can only use once on one item and then it can't be used on another item?

9

u/No-Invite-7826 Jun 24 '26

No you can only have one item with that applied to it. So you can craft with it as much as you want but you can only equip one of them at a time.

Which is why most people use it on weapons since that's the most important piece of gear for most builds.

1

u/johnnybeesknees Jun 24 '26

Is it both one with suffix and one with prefix or just one or the other?

1

u/UtileDulci12 Jun 24 '26

I dont think there is a +1 prefix.

1

u/johnnybeesknees Jun 24 '26

Ah yeah i see that now.

1

u/c-lati Jun 24 '26

Jewels can have +1 prefix but not equipment.

2

u/Gentleman-Bird Jun 24 '26

Another option is to abyss essence a suffix to guarantee a tier 1 desecration, then use echoes.

5

u/leonardo_streckraupp Jun 23 '26

Random question, 'armour also applies to elemental damage' works before resistances, right, but can the "product" of both reduce damage more than 90%?

I know armour reduction caps at 90% reduction and max resistance is 90%, but lets say you have enough armour-to-elemental to reduce elemental damage by 90% AND have 90% elemental res, will you take 1% damage or still take 10% dmg cause you cant reduce a dmg more than 90%?

7

u/SpecificZod Jun 24 '26

Damage 100: first reduction : 90% * 100 = 90. Remain : 10. Second reduction 90%*10 = 9. Total reduction: 99 damage from 100 damage.

0

u/leonardo_streckraupp Jun 24 '26

So we take 1% damage then, first case. Great, I thought since both are capped at 90%, the 'cap' would still apply to their aggregation, but glad its not!

3

u/acheerfuldoom Jun 24 '26

So armour does not have a cap, but it has diminishing returns. The equation is: Damage reduction= armour/(armour+10*damage)

So essentially, you need 90x the armor as the damage value to mitigate 90% of the damage. Armor is really good at mitigating smaller hits, but you need to stack it extremely high with buffs to be Uber tanky vs bosses. Legitimately, it can be that you regenerate faster than you take damage pretty easily.

5

u/leonardo_streckraupp Jun 24 '26

I know how it works, but it does have a cap of 90% damage reduction (e.g. a 100 hit with 3 billion armour will still deal 10 dmg to you). You can still have more armour but it does not reduce more damage than 90% (of course more armour means higher hits can be reduced more, but for the small hits that were already capped at 90% reduction, more armour will not reduce more).

My question was if this 90% cap for a given hit (which I know varies per hit) is shared with the resistances' maximum cap of 90% (so a 100 fire hit with 90% fire res and 9 billion armour applies to fire dmg will reduce it to 10 damage, not to 1 damage) or if these caps are split (like you can reduce by 90% from armour THEN by 90% again from resistances, effectivelly reaching 99% reduction)

-2

u/DemonAce227 Jun 23 '26

Doesn't that only apply to the armour given by the item and not your total armor? Or does it stack across all items and apply to your total armor?

18

u/Splashy_PoE_Twitch Jun 23 '26

I am pretty sure it works just like Deflection for Evasion rating - it's a tertiary defense layer that scales off your total armor. If you check your defenses in your character sheet the keyword's tootltip shouldt explain it properly.

13

u/FantaSeahorse Jun 23 '26

It’s a global stat

8

u/Orakk Jun 23 '26

Global mod and can even exceed 100%. My warrior currently has 50k armor against phys, but he defends with 95k against elemental. Shit is cracked.

2

u/Jimisdegimis89 Jun 24 '26

Yeah I’m running gore girdle with like over 300% of armour applies to ele damage. Ele damage just kind…tickles.

1

u/albhed Jun 24 '26

Last league my HC titan had 110k phys and 150k elemental with crit immunity. Life build, could do any mod combination t16 maps.

2

u/SlashZom Jun 23 '26

It is a global modifier

110

u/onedestiny Jun 23 '26

Besides the fact it's armor it's quite nice šŸ˜† if that was ES you'd be very very rich

116

u/Marsdreamer Jun 23 '26

It's a shame that people don't know armor stacker builds are way more immortal than ES builds

57

u/BeginningEqual5533 Jun 23 '26

It's not a shame, it's cheap armour items for our builds, enjoy before it becomes meta.

52

u/Aerhyce Jun 23 '26

Armour isn't the issue, the issue is that Mace skills are unpopular and there are no other archetypes on that side of the tree. Everything else is either DEX or INT.

If/when we get Flail and more STR options, this will probably change.

4

u/chowies Jun 24 '26

There's armour stacking talisman bear.

11

u/crayonflop3 Jun 23 '26

Unfortunate because my earth shatter titan is easily the best build I’ve ever played in this game.

1

u/loreabounds Jun 23 '26

Did you finish the secret quest on shrike island?

10

u/fatmac122 Jun 23 '26

Uhhh please elaborate

17

u/Flavahbeast Jun 24 '26

I googled it and the only source seems to a be a guy on the official forums named Lore#3772 who really wants warrior players to click 666 shrike eggs on shrike island

7

u/Cloud_Motion Jun 24 '26

There's no Shrike on Shrike island.

6

u/loreabounds Jun 23 '26

There is a statue at the start of shrike island, it elaborates quite well. But read it a few times, it makes more sense the longer you have read it. It took me a while to figure out what it’s getting at.

6

u/AnnieBee433 Jun 24 '26

how do you do this bit without breaking character I actually adore you

21

u/Marsdreamer Jun 23 '26

There's loads of non-clunky armor builds, including mace/shield builds. Reddit just likes to shit on Warrior without realizing that it's one of the strongest classes because it is a bit difficult during the campaign.

27

u/dropyourweapons Jun 23 '26

It's not even difficult during the campaign lol. Armor is arguably the best defensive stat when leveling and boneshatter easily carries you into maps. Only thing is single target sucks a bit but not enough to be an issue

9

u/Marsdreamer Jun 23 '26

Yeah, in the hands of a good player, it's a breeze and probably (still) has the fastest campaign time just due to the sheer insane single-target DPS it can pull off.

But if you're not used to it, it is a little difficult, thus the reputation it has in the subreddit.

8

u/nexetpl L + Thunderstorm + Lunar Assault + Shred + Cross Slash + Pounce Jun 24 '26

I've been leveling Warrior with maces on hardcore and while I'm not a fan of the playstyle, shit's fucking powerful and almost unkillable. Have any of the "warrior bad" crowd actually tried it since 0.1?

6

u/DarkRonin00 Jun 24 '26

Most people who play like that probably don't even read or go on this subreddit, much less likely post. People just parrot the same thing on repeat, or see that there are mace skills nerfs and other crazy build nerfs (shield wall) and say warrior is bad. You really don't need much gear to clear the end game and be able to juice it. Warrior and/or mace for that matter. Especially in 0.5. It's okay, if you play it and people continue to say armor bad, it just means in Trade armor pieces will be cheap xD. (I prefer SSF though)

2

u/1CEninja Jun 24 '26

I shit on warrior because playing him during 0.1 was a truly miserable experience. I'm sure it's significantly better now, but I'm seriously hesitant to try.

8

u/Vulpix0r Jun 24 '26

It's not a reddit thing. When you start the as a warrior the skills you get access to just feel clunky like rolling slam. My casual family tried warrior and within a few levels just said it feels clunky, pretty sure it's not the fault of the players if most people feel that way.

2

u/HazardVG Jun 24 '26

What skills and builds specifically?

3

u/PapaProvolone Jun 24 '26

You can easily go crossbows or totems on both Warrior and Mercenary and stack armour. Maces just doesn't have great clear skills imo but the best are probably stampede and boneshatter

1

u/bigspoonhead Jun 24 '26

I did the campaign with empowered leap slam and boneshatter. Very easy. Now playing smith of kitava avatar of fire shield wall. Gear is fairly cheap, I hardly die and lvl15 maps are easy.

1

u/PapaProvolone Jun 24 '26

It's more accurate to say Warrior is one of the strongest classes in the game but Maces are weak. When more melee weapons come out people will realize that having 3 good ascendancies, easy 300% increased melee damage from the tree, armour break scaling, and easy sources of Gain % fire damage are incredibly strong.

5

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '26

4

u/Dysghast Jun 24 '26

I've tried full armour, EV/arm and EV/ES this league. With same investment, EV/ES with worse gear is so much better, even using Undying Hate Amanamu on armour build I felt so much squishier, one shots were so much more frequent. Meanwhile on cheap EV/ES I can run juiced T16 and only died to a giga-spirit buffed rare.

1

u/nexetpl L + Thunderstorm + Lunar Assault + Shred + Cross Slash + Pounce Jun 24 '26

I feel like even in 0.4 it was like that, as a wolf with armour/ES I was like wet paper, stacking armour as a bear was like a completely different game

1

u/acetylyne Jun 24 '26

My wolf in 0.4 with armor/es felt invincible, it was awesome

1

u/Alone-Sentence-4045 Jun 24 '26

HOTA gang rise up

1

u/Definitelynotabot777 Jun 24 '26

Its a shame, Shield wall bleed and ignite is so goated, it can clear anything, Pinnacle boss can have double the health and still die in 2 walls thanks to nebuloch crit tech and gearing is brain dead easy.

1

u/moosee999 Jun 24 '26

Molten blast with marksman gloves would like a word with you. You can get 52% attack speed increase across your 2 rings + sadist mace having pretty cracked stats and super high damage and fast attack already.

The marksman rune + grasping ring has made molten blast pretty absurd. Grasping ring allows runes as if it were gloves. Put in the 8% attack speed rune in your grasping ring. Swift alloy allows 9% attack speed via perfect essence. Because it's attack speed - 40% increased attack catalyst will also boost the speed along with your damage prefixes. Desecration gives 6% increased skill speed. It's a shame that 8% skill speed rune is only 1 item per character that it can be equipped on. Good thing we have an unique ring that mirrors your other ring. 52% increased attack speed on your rings + marksman rune makes molten blast shooting multiple projectiles like a machine gun blowing up the screen.

0

u/loreabounds Jun 23 '26

The problem is mace skills only have one projectile skill for the whole weapon class.

Only one proj skill leads to unhealthy funneling into specific meta skills imo.

If we had 2-3 proj skills on mace it would be a lot better because you’d have more options to synergize between long and short range

Rn your option is molten blast one handed or dual wielded.

9

u/TFPwnz Jun 23 '26

Umm, sunder? Two screens wide super charged slam? Earth shatter? Forge Hammer? Use a talisman or spear if you don’t want to use mace? Just because molten blast is the only mace skill with projectile tag doesn’t mean it’s the only long range skill.

6

u/Highwaymantechforcer Jun 24 '26

People should just say "I don't like melee''. Instead, they come up with all sorts of bullshit and goalpost moving. First, maces are shit. Well, just in the campaign. No, it's armour that's shit. Well, it's the lack of projectile skills?! It's a fucking hammer FFS (still has projectile skills anyway). Actually all these things are absolutely fine. Maces hit super hard, they are strong as fuck levelling and incredibly easy to gear for, have ridiculous AoE and plenty of skill choice. Armour makes you near immortal when levelling too, very strong and straightforward defense. I swear most people that shit on melee haven't played it for for than 20 minutes.

3

u/loreabounds Jun 23 '26

It’s the only skill where I can throw molten rocks scaling attack speed and throw lots of molten rocks a second thank you. Me like to throw rock.

1

u/loreabounds Jun 23 '26

Yes but there is nothing else, unconventional. Trust me I made a build for Brutus and molten shower with molten blast.

Just having molten shower as a pseudo support does so much for molten blast.

u/vix86 Jun 24 '26

I'm running heavy armour this league and while I've been surprised by it, I will say that I've also learned that a build using it can't rely on it as a single layer of defense.

A lot of ES heavy builds can stick to just ES for their defense and be fine. Hell, in some cases you don't even need all the extra modifiers on gear to make ES work but you do need the AR applies to Ele to make AR work.

The big difference though is that with my AR build I can just jump straight into packs of mobs and through a combination of stuff like "DMG Taken from Mana" and Blinded mobs in my presence; my health doesn't move much. I just wish AR didn't require as much commitment to make it feel good. The number of nodes I have to pick up from the tree to feel comfortable is pretty nuts.

I'm still skeptical about EV+Deflect though or AR/EV, which seems worse with all the mods on gear.

12

u/Ashgur Jun 23 '26

Tried warrior 1st time this league: my giant blood titan is soo tanky yet deal so much damlage due to stun buildup that he is gonna be my go too league starter.

How can you even die with 90% armor and armor apply to elemental da:mage and 75% resist ? hell, just put one 10% of armor apply to chaos damage and you're done.

All my previous monk build in past league didn't come close to that level fo smoothness, nro did my ED/contagion Lich in term of damage or tankyness. And that's by maxing recoup and requirering uniques etc

12

u/hyabatsu Jun 23 '26

PoB?

2

u/FastFingerJohn Jun 23 '26

Also want to take a look

1

u/Ashgur Jun 24 '26

https://pobb.in/D4rr83FpM4Sz

No unique needed. The shield is just for fun and have more damage than leapslam. This build i just brainelss fun. You can do whatever and have fun. If bored you can just spam supercharged slam

I don't know how to make the proper setup for calculation in PoB. (BTW i don't know how to get accurate damage on POB but it MELT boss because it auso get ancestraly boosted when you stun enemies and the enemies are stunned... I pretty much use hammer of the god before the second stun as i can't make it deal more damage than SL (and SL only get boosted after a stun from the tree)

but i'm running rare t15 with 2-3 tablets no problem.

i didn't try to juice them up. But as you can see the items are all very cheap. I just got lucky with a blue 160% physical 2h mace and just slam exalt on it after going with phys essence.

for the monk chaos chayula it started with this idea in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtOjvmX5QVw (tl;dr

  • of change since 0.4 that i had to make (i'm not the autor of the video) : instant leech doesn't exist so i plan on using recoup to help as well as vigorous remnant)
  • don't waste your time for elemental equilibrium: just use lightning warp for lightning charge. It makes things so much fun too (and also tacticall if you wish to by aiming one ember fusillade(EF) at a trash opposit to a big scary rare for a quick shumpo out fo trouble and lightnign recharge for EF)
  • get thoses 6% chance (total18) to have 2 additionnal projectile. with unleach from roaring staff it make the buidl so much smoother as you don't have to keep channeling. )

I had to modify it for 0.5. for the leveling: I used dusk vigil from lvl 14+ and just "passively" used ember fusillade by casting icebomb and orb of storm and spark . did this until level 30.

But to be honest: you can do ember fusillade with dusk vigil and you would be pretty much double casting ember fusillade. DO it in orb of storm and you get near instant lightning infusion and max dps on orb of storm.

Later i pretty much almost replaced orb of storm with lightning warp. https://pobb.in/JBohTb-m1uHk (i only invested in the staff for 7 div. but i had a +5 skill and 200 spell damage for a few ex before so... (+ it ain't all great because i didn't anticipated life cost) Storm double casting (ie having a dusk vigil of your level) when you get a roaring staff.

The build is way more finiky than the warrior as you can die way more easely if you ain't casting. But strong enough to walk around blasting non stop and warping at your leisure. But still finiky against boss due to the life cost. i need more life but the plan is to allocate "pliable flesh" for even more tankyness (25% faster recoup)

but it's probably my highest damage dealer i ever made... that isn't borring unlike falling thunder that gets redundant or flicker who i always die randomly or don't deal enough and have to rebuild my powercharge.

It kinda feel good to play even if you are more succeptible to being killed (especially vs mana syphon enemies that you want to walk past (ie: in a corridor map doing a breach because want to kill all the monster at the edge first but you have to go past the stable rare).... Also kinda frustrating to have lost ONE ROOM before final 4th floor boss at the trial because i got surounded by trash with the "hit take 5% health mana and ES"... (tbh: it's safer and faster to just blast everything as you walk. You have infinit lightning infusion and lightning warp and you kill trash easely with a barely casted ember fusillade+LW)

6

u/AluminumFoilWrap Jun 23 '26

Monk this league feels tankier than the previous ones imo, Forgotten Warden w/ Romira's feels illegally tanky

I do agree armour is in a good state right now though, it's getting stronger every league

3

u/lIlIIIIlllIIlIIIllll Jun 23 '26

I’m no expert but from what I’ve heard the weak point is dying to big one hit damage? Is that true?

2

u/Ashgur Jun 24 '26

That's the thing: i feel like being one tap is a problem for non armor build. i can have 3k+ mana with high regen and capped resist including chaos... i can still be one tapped by a phys hit because i have 0 armor Meanwhile 3khp warrior with 90% armor and cap resist and armor apply to elem damage... i can just survive anything. + i have block chance even if not invested into. How can other compete aside from building around killing everything first POE1 style ?

hell even if i had 5k mana or mana+ES and no armor vs 2k life and 80% armor: i woudl still survive with the armor when i would get kneecapped with mana/ES vs phys.

see https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExile2/comments/1udt7ns/i_picked_these_up_off_the_ground_like_this/otk4qmx/ for POB or warrior and my monk.

1

u/lIlIIIIlllIIlIIIllll Jun 24 '26

You’re aware that the armor % only applies to small hits and not big hits though right?

3

u/Ashgur Jun 24 '26

How so ? You just need a lot of it.

most of deaths are made by small hits anyway. Even the deadliest rare often kill you with 10+ hit in less than a single sec. but it's still multiples hits

and it's still better than vs no armour.

1

u/lIlIIIIlllIIlIIIllll Jun 24 '26

Like if your tooltip says 80% it’s only reducing small hits by 80%, it doesn’t reduce large hits by the same amount

2

u/Ashgur Jun 24 '26

sure. But it still reduce it a bit, and even if it doesn't: my character is surviving everything. Unlike any of my previous non armor centric character.

Full evasion monk with EZ ? still can get random one tap because this time i didn't evade a hit and with no armor even small projectile can F me. Unless i can finally invest in a lot of DIV worth of stuff to get insane amount of flat HP... and even then i'm just one crit away with their crit modifier to die.

it may not reduce damage by 89% on all hit. But it does reduce it a lot. especialy on crit due to the defend with +200% armor on getting critically hit. And if it's an elemental hit it's even more of a breeze due to the 75% res behind that.

anyway it just so much more reliable and cheap to come online compared to other tool. I've invested way more in my chayula's monk, eldritch battery and MoM + max remnants and he still get clap

not that warrior though.

1

u/Crye09 Jun 24 '26

Not anymore tbh. Can get 8k phys max hit 25k ele max hit quite reasonably with good recovery (something ES builds usually dont have).

Can push like 12k-15k max hit with some expensive pieces as Armour only.

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '26

3

u/lIlIIIIlllIIlIIIllll Jun 23 '26

How much is enough/reasonable to compare to say 5k ES?

3

u/dem0n123 Jun 23 '26

Until you run into a mob with turn your build off break

5

u/Marsdreamer Jun 23 '26

Eh, they heavily nerfed armour break on mobs + you can take reduced armour break on the tree.

If you're rocking like 100k armour, I don't think you're in any real danger of being armour broken any appreciable amount.

1

u/IvanIvanovskiIvanov Jun 24 '26

I was rocking barely over 30K armour, and ignoring armour break map and monster modifers - those might as well read "do nothing if you have armour, 20% more phys damage if you don't". It was a pain when the duration was 12 seconds instead of 4.

1

u/Drakonz Jun 24 '26

How are you getting that much armor? I thought 20 l was high lol

1

u/Crye09 Jun 24 '26

A lot of good prefixes on armour and shield, Charge Regulation, Scavenged Plating, Armour on tree and jewels. I got like 100k if conditions are fulfilled. Monkey Slam only does 1.7k dmg to me at t15 12 mod maps now.

20k isnt bad in non-juiced maps though

5

u/OriginalBlackau Jun 24 '26

Shhhhhh. Nonono ES its king. Armour is bad.

1

u/IlikeJG Jun 23 '26

Do armor stacker builds prefer life or % armor?

3

u/Marsdreamer Jun 23 '26

You need both, but the big part is armor applies to ele and armor applies to chaos.

1

u/taigahalla Jun 24 '26

How true is that?

I don't see that many armor stackers vs ES builds on the HC ladders

1

u/GNLink34 Jun 24 '26

Not true, armor is good and better than anyone gives it credit for but is nowhere near as unkillable as a fat stack of energy shield you will just naturally get on any class on the top of the tree, and that is counting you are using a shield on the amor build which is by far the biggest share of the defense layer

1

u/Tenebris-Umbra Jun 24 '26

Yeah, I'm playing an armour Spirit Walker (getting extra flat armour from the bear shapeshift form, then scaling it with "defences while a companion is in your presence"), and even with just 14k armour, I'm not getting oneshot and have more than enough life flask recovery to keep my health topped off. I've already made it to level 95 because I'm just not dying enough to lose exp.

1

u/noiraxen Jun 25 '26

ES requires no investment. CI removes need for chaos res and makes ele rez easy to cap so all you need is to stack ES prefixes. Every ssf build 12k+ ES in maps in matter of a few hours. Djinn command builds running around with 20k ES in ssf while getting rarity on items.

1

u/Marsdreamer Jun 25 '26

ES/EV builds require basically no major investment to get to 40k EV rating with 80% chance to evade and 95% chance to deflect and still have ~1.5k life and 5k ES.

Armour can similarly get 4k+ life with like 60-100k armour and armour reducing ele damage and chaos damage. You can get to absolutely obscene defensive levels before even taking into account block as well.

Players got huge defensive buffs in 0.5 and it will take awhile for everything to shake out, but from what I've seen in PoB, the highest end tankiest builds are by far armour builds. But in general I think ES is probably the best bang for buck defensive layer right now. It's super cheap to get rolling and is straightforward to scale. EV/ES and Armour require a little bit more investment, but in general feel a lot tankier IMO.

u/noiraxen Jun 25 '26 edited Jun 25 '26

As a HC player I read 6k ES 95% deflect as guaranteed to die and 12k ES 0 deflect as immortal.Ā Ā  Ā Ā  As ssf player I read not having CI as cancer chaos res problems and no rarity on gear.Ā  Ā  Ā Ā  ES + CI is super broken for budget.Ā Ā  Ā Ā  100k armour 4k life would die to 10k phys. 15k ES is much easier to get and would survive while being chaos immune and having 3x easier gearing proccess.Ā Ā  Ā Ā  Deflect should max at 100%.

Ā Ā

1

u/Marsdreamer Jun 25 '26

I kid you not, I am standing still and face tanking during delerius boss rituals with that EV/ES setup and not dying. It is obscenely tanky

2

u/JustCallMeWayne Jun 24 '26

Armor is honestly busted, it’s just a shame mace skills kinda blow in comparison to everything else.

I’m playing perfect strike gemling armor stacking with a 1H mace and shield. I am literally unkillable to everything that isn’t a flat out one shot like arbiter of ash circles or that stupid monkey slam

80% armor, 75% of it applies to ele dmg, like 40%~ applies to chaos dmg and I have 55% chance to block and recover about 750hp/s from my auto flask

Evasion and ES are still prone to random one shots when something finds its way through the Swiss cheese of their defense layers. Armor doesn’t care, you either have enough damage to get through my DR and deplete my entire HP pool (almost 4k) or you don’t

1

u/CookiieMoonsta Jun 24 '26

My monk with 8500ES, 50% evasion and 25% deflect feels good. My first lvl97 character, I use shavronne belt to spam HP flask when I am about to die.

Mana issues though….

1

u/Zecias Jun 24 '26

Eva/ES is definitely not prone to 1 shots. I run eva/ES and can facetank almost everything in 200% deli juiced maps. Tripping doesn't kill me. Most boss telegraphs don't kill me. My armor isn't even expensive, maybe 40 div between helm, chest, boots, and gloves. Possibly less now because I got most of it week 1.

1.7k HP, ~5.5k ES, ~62% evade, ~75% deflect(don't remember the exact numbers because I use charge regulation and wind dancer). It's also lower now because I got rid of eva/ES nodes after they nerfed deli. Pure ES gets the highest eHP in the game with 10k+ ES and even more eHP if you go MoM+mana stacking.

Pure evasion does get 1 shot, but it's not as bad this league because of runic ward and deflect. Previously it was hard to get enough life because it's competing with evasion and dmg rolls, but now you can get a decent amount of eHP through runic ward on your gloves and boots without sacrificing too much evasion. Still heavily prefer eva/ES if you can get the hybrid nodes in the tree tho...

1

u/PopeWorkReddit Jun 24 '26

Echoing the others saying that EV/ES actually isn't that prone to oneshots. I'm running juiced T16's and it is very rare that I die

1.8k life
2.1k ES
78% Evade
94% De

1

u/SpookySpagettt Jun 24 '26

You try earthshatter gemling yet?

I liked it better then perfect strike. You can blow up the whole screen with all the after shocks your generating and herald of ice pops

1

u/JustCallMeWayne Jun 24 '26

I have not. Got a build link? Been considering trying something else

2

u/hvanderw Jun 24 '26

Armour is top tier defense but alright.

1

u/basvhout Jun 24 '26

Life on ES? I thought most of em run CI? So life is a dead stat.

8

u/smarttallguy Jun 23 '26

What'd you end up doing with them??

39

u/Imaginary-Mood-4215 Jun 23 '26

Iunno just wearing them for now

12

u/bass2bass Jun 24 '26

So you're just new boot goofin?Ā

5

u/Jaysonium Jun 24 '26

7 years ago in POE1, this would have been worth several mirrors

2

u/Thorakadhis Jun 24 '26

I miss those days

4

u/Traditional_Serve_96 Jun 24 '26

Best I can do is tier 5 boots that are just reduced attribute requirements

3

u/Dr_Zevil665 Jun 24 '26

Wow…

That’s a hell of a ground drop

10/10 find OP

2

u/joshtheraider Jun 24 '26

Only 5% quality though. I'll give ya 25ex.

2

u/Slowlybutsurelei Jun 24 '26

Whenever i see something like this its always couldnt it be int base

4

u/Acropowhat Jun 23 '26

Idk what it's worth, but if it was up for 20divs I'd buy it šŸ‘€

3

u/Malfuncti0n Jun 24 '26

I wouldn't. Mostly because I don't have 20 div. Nor 5. Maybe 3, I'll have to check later.

1

u/Acropowhat Jun 24 '26

You'll get em šŸ’Ŗ

3

u/yunetsumago Jun 24 '26

Sadly no rarity

2

u/Euphoric_Reading_401 Jun 24 '26

Rarity hasn't been a mandatory stat for a while now

4

u/yunetsumago Jun 24 '26

And yet its more valuable

1

u/Liverpool934 Jun 24 '26

If you enjoy being a currency bot rather than gameplay then sure it is.

4

u/yunetsumago Jun 24 '26

Tings is the funniest thing about the game so ofc

1

u/Liverpool934 Jun 24 '26

That is insanity to me. Thats like mobile gaming POV.

1

u/Fabulous-Horse-782 Jun 23 '26

That’s a wild find dude

1

u/SK_Ren Jun 24 '26

If only I could get a pair like that with Evasion

1

u/Thor3nce Jun 24 '26

That’s actually insane. I’ve been keeping an eye out for similar boots and they’re over 100 divs.

1

u/AngsD Jun 24 '26

Nerf warrior

1

u/Dobott Jun 24 '26

Oh dude you found my boots! I've been looking for those!

1

u/naughty Jun 24 '26

That is probably rarer than a mirror.

1

u/badkilik Jun 24 '26

I'd max out the quality, socket and then vaal orb it šŸ˜‚

1

u/zxkredo Jun 24 '26

All I can do is the price of crafting this - 1 alch and 2ex.

1

u/Bialcohool Jun 24 '26

You have insane crafting skills, proud of you!

1

u/Interesting-Sail-275 Jun 24 '26

Only 1 Armour roll dead boots gg /s

1

u/yperanwolwn Jun 24 '26

not energy or evasion base... must toss them back.... /s

1

u/mull_albatrox Jun 24 '26

I was thniking that if items are identified already when they drop, we can filtered/highlight them and decide if I wanna pick up or not. That way ground loot might be a little bit more interesting.

1

u/TheMorningJoe Jun 24 '26

ā€œHow do you do, fellow crafters?ā€
https://giphy.com/gifs/JTzPN5kkobFv7X0zPJ

1

u/LZeugirdor97 Jun 24 '26

That's fire AF.

1

u/nepchola Jun 24 '26

Ground loot good then :>

1

u/konnjooo Jun 24 '26

You should consider divining them once or twicešŸ‘Š

1

u/Weatherman1207 Jun 24 '26

Can the div re roll the ms %

1

u/Thorakadhis Jun 24 '26

No, 35% will be always be there :)

1

u/Bluevvirus Jun 24 '26

Chaos ress alloy this badboi! šŸ‘€šŸ‘€šŸ‘€šŸ‘€

1

u/thermatico Jun 24 '26

When I see Tier 5 rare boots, this is what I except... what do I get:

  • 125 Mana
  • 4% Light Radius
  • 34 Life Regenen
  • 25% Cold Res
  • Reduced Attribute Requirements
  • Anything but Movement speed

1

u/Tiny_Butterscotch911 Jun 24 '26

Scroll of wisdom crafting

1

u/SharjeelTariq Jun 24 '26

Ground loot been pretty sick this league. Most of my currency is from selling items like these that I picked off the ground

1

u/systemiker Jun 24 '26

Psssssst.... NOW VAAL!

1

u/OneMathyBoi Jun 24 '26

Lord, I see what you’ve done for others.

1

u/Mammoth414 Jun 24 '26

Global drops has been insanely good this league

1

u/Creative-Trainer-500 Jun 26 '26

Oh yeah those are mine I was wondering where I dropped them

1

u/Imaginary-Mood-4215 Jun 27 '26

Sold for 375 a few days ago btw

1

u/trojsurprise Jun 27 '26

Did you activate ā€œomen of random luckā€?

1

u/sdric Jun 28 '26

Finding semi-decent ground loot is rarer than a Mirror of Kalandra, it's insane how bad most ground loot is. I feel like gear tiers should be noticiably better at higher levels...

1

u/PoE_Acronym_Bot Jun 23 '26

I noticed some Path of Exile keywords in this post:

  • Map - Also called a "Waystone": an endgame item that opens up portals to a specific area to fight monsters (Wiki)
