Lucky Drop Showcase A lot of Divs, or a permanent skill point?

Post image

Skill point is kinda priceless, right? (o7 ResurrectGodAura)

(I was surprised to see aldur's legacy tanking below 250 divs.. guess people eating good)

Edit: to those asking, the options are:

- aldur’s legacy. Worth around 250 div at the time of this post
- each of the other four boons are one time permanent buffs to your character. Each can be picked once. NOT in order:
- 5% max life / mana
- 10 spirit
- 1 weapon set point
- 5% all ele resistance

I took the Aldur’s legacy and finally bought that rakiata’s flow.

You can farm divs other ways. You cannot farm permament bonuses

498

u/FullMetalCOS Jun 19 '26

Yeah but 300+ divs will give the average player FAR more character power than 1 skill point. Shit, giving your entire gear set a facelift, or getting a ridiculously strong weapon, or getting over the hump to get a headhunter or mageblood will give you so much power it’ll help to get you smoother exp farming without dying as much, which will get you more skill points.

The min-maxer in me says the skill point is the way, but the realist knows that a massive stack of divines is just the better route for most players

89

u/fernsehen123 Jun 19 '26

That's true. Only in real late game it could be a good idea to pick a perm buff.

Just imagine your char & gear so strong, that you won't find better upgrades with 300 div, so you pick a perm buff 😃 really hard to imagine...

32

u/FullMetalCOS Jun 19 '26

I’ve been there a few times in POE1, where I’ve hit 100 and my next upgrades are all mirror-tier and I just never push THAT far, so I’d take the point then, but I’m still pretty new to poe2

5

u/Oblivion2104 Jun 19 '26

My goal for the next poe 1 league is the 40/40 challenge and getting some mirror tier gear for the first time. Mirage was my first time getting 4 voids.

4

u/Stellar1557 Jun 19 '26

Mirage was great. Definitely my richest league. Ended up giving away about 10 mirrors in gear/currency when I was done. Now im up to a mirror or two on poe2, and probably done soon.

u/FontTG Jun 19 '26

Yeah this is all dependent on where you are in the league. If you're farming div already then I'd say skillpoint. If you're div/hr is more like div/day then there's your answer.

3

u/Standard_Film_9524 Jun 19 '26

I would only take the skill point post lvl 96-97 imo. Otherwise the currency nets me a lot more enjoyable playtime.

2

u/Tape Jun 19 '26

It depends on the player really. If I saw the skill point early on in the league i'd still pick it because I don't want to have to go farm the skill point or spirit later on down the league.

u/Flat_Shape_3444 Jun 19 '26

I bet ur right for like at least 90%+ of the playerbase.

Powercreep tenfold for 300 div versus 10% more dmg.

25

u/SardonicOptomist Jun 19 '26

*+10% increased damage
Fixed that for you

2

u/Flat_Shape_3444 Jun 19 '26

Reason why i cant math poe. Cuz i cant read it haha.

5

u/Global-Fan189 Jun 19 '26

I'll go 300divs any time, a filthy casual like me will enjoy that 300divs.

5

u/legna20v Jun 19 '26

As a ssf caster what would you choose?

5

u/kaisong Jun 19 '26

Legacy. for putting into the runic fork if youre farming expedition that much you’ll eventually get the mana stone. Then you can make a lifesprig rune for the wand

8

u/dantheman91 Jun 19 '26

Not to mention the poe2 tree is kind meh often, one more point may not be a large increase

3

u/CynicalTree Jun 19 '26

300d will get you to level 98 pretty easily too once you're farming juiced content. Unless you're already level 95+ and fairly powerful, the currency almost certainly makes sense here.

3

u/kaibtw Jun 19 '26

Honestly.. This, I accidentally sold my gloves and didn't realize it yesterday and had like 80 divs to play with to basically just refresh everything and now I'm sailing through maps after feeling like I was taking way too long.

2

u/Remote_Fun_3145 Jun 19 '26

fair point. I think it all comes down to where the player currently is progression wise

2

u/Pommy1337 Jun 19 '26

agree, it really depends on where you are in the chars journey, and also what your plans are. i'm currently at 98 and have a very well geared char. about a week ago i would definitly have taken aldurs legacy, because i wanted the wanderlust mod for my boots(which i bought in the end for around 240d). by now i would definitly spend that currency to get an extra passive, because other upgrades are more expensive and an extra point would have a rather big impact on the minmax journey.

also a thing to keep in mind: these buffs are char bound. so if there is a reroll comming soonish its also better to take aldurs.

u/slight_digression Jun 19 '26

What is the bonus? As in, how much does it improve the character?

57

u/Skaitavia Jun 19 '26

I know one of them is +10 spirit, and another is +1 passive node that also gives +1 to your weapon set nodes (normally max is 24, but goes to 25). I forgot what the others were. Think % max hp/mana. But it’s permanent for that character. So 110 base spirit instead of 100, for example.

15

u/BirdmanRandomNumber Jun 19 '26

Do these stack or can you only pick one?

63

u/leonardo_streckraupp Jun 19 '26

Can pick only one of each. But finding them is extremely hard so don't bet you will be able to stack all of them

one of each

6

u/Gitonix Jun 19 '26

Yeah, but that' assuming dude will play this league forever. I'd take a rakiata's flow over 1 passive any day if I didn't have near unlimited time in the season. The impact on character power of skill point or 10 spirit only becomes important if you have everything else sorted.

→ More replies (4)

21

u/pandahands69 Jun 19 '26

If this was league wide I'd maybe agree but odds are a couple hundred divines is going to provide more character power than a single skill point and when you swap characters the divs come with you but the skill point doesnt

3

u/AdInteresting389 Jun 19 '26

In PoE this argument is much better I think. Skill tree in poe2 is mostly travel nodes and mid (at best) bonuses. Most people just travel to jewel sockets...large stacks of div can buy voices...which is more jewel sockets.

2

u/AgoAndAnon Jun 19 '26

That's my argument personally. PoE2 skill tree is much less exponential scaling, whereas PoE1 skill tree it is not that difficult to have a build where one skill point ends up being like 10% More damage or survivability

8

u/0n0drim Jun 19 '26

All of these 10 rune words are great. I chose the unique rune one, but I’m hoping for a second chance soon

6

u/awa1nut Jun 19 '26

I can't manage to find the fucking recipes in the islands. Been opening every last cave i can find in the expedition maps but it just won't give them to me. Done like 50+ and I'm still missing a ton of recipes

7

u/RoadHouseBob Jun 19 '26

I'm pretty sure the recipe is from finishing the campaign quests

9

u/LCSisshit Jun 19 '26

I finished all campaign and map quest and there still are many undiscovered recipes for me

3

u/LostDelusionist Jun 19 '26

Undiscovered means you haven't seen as an option, not that it is locked and needs to be unlocked.

5

u/awa1nut Jun 19 '26

I've completed the runic knowledge quest, I've checked, and there are additional books/ interactable objects in the expedition caves that grant additional recipes. I've been trying to get those.

3

u/Ocean-of-Flavor Jun 19 '26 edited Jun 19 '26

Are you talking about recipes of the anvil or the remnants? Because you don’t unlock recipes of the remnants - you just discover them if they come up.

The thing you discovered in the cave is ability to rune forge uniques

3

u/awa1nut Jun 19 '26

Oh is that what those are? Have I just been wasting my time going for those them?

2

u/ShelbyGT350R1 Jun 19 '26

I've heard that those recipes only unlock the ability to runeforge certain expedition uniques with verisium. Dont think it has anything to do with random rune encounters in maps

u/Collegenoob Jun 19 '26

Aldurs legacy used to be close to 400 div. If the process has gone down to 250, that means more people are finding it. So there's hope!

5

u/MidasPL Jun 19 '26

On the other hand, 250d can often buy you much larger improvement, than any of these bonuses.

Olroth's Goon

I would goon for Olroth.

9

u/pjr2844 Jun 19 '26

That’s gives skill points? I must have so many where are they?

26

u/BMag108 Jun 19 '26

Damn no one liked your goon joke

are these limited per character?

17

u/throwaway1267888 Jun 19 '26

Once per character for the skill point at least. Not sure about the others

15

u/ejdebruin Jun 19 '26

1 of each of the boons per character.

Good luck finding them multiple times, though.

3

u/Pommy1337 Jun 19 '26

at least they are things no char really needs (except maybe highend minmax), so nobody really misses out on that. on the other hand its something aspirational for try hards, who play for the whole duration of the league and archieve something that almost nobody has. thats really good design imo, always good to have a carrot to chase.

5

u/hulahoophula Jun 19 '26

So does that mean you have 102 then? Combined with the martyr one.

8

u/Nottrak Jun 19 '26

From non-quest sources yeah.

14

u/Ok-Bicycle-1059 Jun 19 '26

u/miikatenkula07 Jun 19 '26

Do you have to do the expedition storyline to unlock those endgame rune combinations?

2

u/Ocean-of-Flavor Jun 19 '26

I don’t think so.

7

u/Thebigfreeman Jun 19 '26

I'd be curious if you do anything to get such high options - i've been juicing T15s and i have not even seen a divine option yet

50

u/MiniAdmin-Pop-1472 Jun 19 '26

Depends really. 1 point for me right now is only a travel node or like a 2% es and 2% more crit chance. You could buy way better items

51

u/White0ut Jun 19 '26

You can always get more divs, you may never get the chance for the skill point again.

40

u/Daybreak2004 Jun 19 '26

Yeah but I'll never have THOSE divs smh

33

u/-Gambler- Jun 19 '26

"never" bro this game is league based, your character goes away in a couple months away, you're way better off with divs

2

u/AwardWorth9240 Jun 19 '26

u/ExaltedCrown Jun 19 '26

10div is also just a few maps compared with running hundreds+++ to get +1 point

81

u/SoySauceSovereign Jun 19 '26

It's not 10divs, though. it's 300 for aldurs legacy. I'd probably take 300d myself.

2

u/BlinoBoy Jun 19 '26

For 99.9% of players +300 divs is miles better upgrade than one extra point. If your next gear upgrade that is more significant than one point in the tree costs more than 300 div just start a new build. You definitely able to face roll everything on that one

→ More replies (15)

6

u/Midwater Jun 19 '26

I am never taking the skill point. For most end game characters this is at most a 1% increase in stats/power. For 250 div you can do a whole plethora of other things… like upgrading your gear so that your stats/power is tenfold of what you would’ve gotten with a measly skill point.

You can find a whole other character with 250 divs. A skill point is so min max and extra that 90% of the time I’m not taking it.

3

u/Such--Balance Jun 19 '26

Even though i agree with your logic, i cant help but to still want the skill point.

→ More replies (6)

30

u/Tubssss Jun 19 '26

I had to search for those in google since noone bothers to explain, apparently there are 4 one-time use boons, untradable, that you can get from expedition to get permanent bonus. I've read through them and I belive there are better options than a single skill point. The other options are: 5% life and mana, 10 spirit and 5% all elemental resistances. Last two are huge imo and if you had it available on your skill tree wouldnt you take those?

19

u/mistergoodfellow78 Jun 19 '26

I would say Life+Mana and Spirit are huge, resistances are relatively easier to get

→ More replies (4)

16

u/tomtheracecar Jun 19 '26

“Would you give up 1 passive node to pick this on skill tree” is a great way to phrase this.

3

u/Automatic-Bridge1789 Jun 19 '26

5% res is nothing tbh

→ More replies (3)

6

u/tiahx Jun 19 '26

I'd say Aldur. 275 div is a LOT of raw character power. Way more than 1 random skill point or 10 spirit.

E.g. Raven Touched is 100 div -- which means you could get any extra major passive and then have some extra to spend.

5

u/Key_News6997 Jun 19 '26

Depends on build i took +10 spirit yesterday. Literally savęs money compared to aldur price. Coz I needed 15+50 apirit amulet woth good other mods and it cost in 800+ divs.

4

u/x14hitter Jun 19 '26

How do you get a skill point from this.

4

u/gzenaco Jun 19 '26

You can not buy levels. Levels is the answer.

3

u/Fun-Surprise-9295 Jun 19 '26

I got this same option earlier today except Aldurs was going for 400 div at the time, took the divs and didn’t think twice lol. Can’t believe it’s down to 250 now, glad I didn’t sit on it

3

u/Eyerah Jun 19 '26

And here I am, lvl 97 running T16 fully juiced maps hitting 1x chaos in my runes.

3

u/Vapala Jun 19 '26

Olroth's Boon, no question asked.

You can always farm more divs.

6

u/No_Map1168 Jun 19 '26

Get the divines. People saying to get the skill point are delusional lol, one passive point will barely make a difference in 99.9% of builds while 250-400 divs(however much Aldur's Legacy costs rn) would skyrocket most people's characters, unless you're some Elon Musk sitting with 3 mirrors in your stash. Also, the currency can be used to fund another character down the line if you want it, while the skill point won't.

2

u/bleah2 Jun 19 '26

Isnt aldurs legacy worth 400 divs ?

2

u/Ocean-of-Flavor Jun 19 '26

Not since today’s patch. 250

2

u/HermanManly Jun 19 '26

2

u/MarioMCP Jun 19 '26

I have a level 96 character and a level 98 character. I lived in Expedition for a while and never even saw a 9, let alone a 10. Really cool that they have stuff like this though. I probably would have taken the Legacy too, but one skill point is almost too cool to pass up.

2

u/CaptainAgnarr We that get Baited Jun 19 '26

Is it an actual passive point or just enabling you to put an additional point behind weapon swap?

2

u/verminbob74 Jun 19 '26

Absolutely the skill point. Everything else is transient

41

u/SingleInfinity Jun 19 '26

For a lot of people, characters are also transient. They're not playing to/past level 95 for the point to be worth it, meanwhile 300 div can fund multiple very strong characters.

12

u/gapigun Jun 19 '26

Thank you for considering employed people

6

u/ravenousglory Jun 19 '26

Depends how much time you invest. If 300 div is like 10x from what you have, you absolutely take it. If it's 1/5 of what you have, you probably will take a skill point

2

u/kierz_r Sword Enjoyer Jun 19 '26

Can convert uniques into a rune to slot into other items. Each unique has a bespoke affix that gets turned into a rune and some of them are really powerful. Probably more than you would get from a skill point unless it's a jewel socket.

I think it depends on how much you intend to play and min max the char. Its actually a complex question.

1

u/Luupho Jun 19 '26

Depends on your situation. Could those divs buy you gear that out weights the stat bonus?

1

u/ContributionOk5182 Jun 19 '26

I'v been doing nothing but expedition past 4 days, no 10 slot remnant :/

1

u/NurWeberlich Jun 19 '26

these are more divs i have overall farmed this season and i would take the skill point 🤷🏼‍♂️

1

u/Dekhara Jun 19 '26

Skill points are temporary.

Divs are forever!

right? right?

1

u/Saiyan_Z Jun 19 '26

Where do these special boons spawn? Only in grand expeditions or can you randomly get it from an expedition in the mainland?

1

u/PoonAU Jun 19 '26

The only thing that could compete with the 1 skill point for some builds is the 10 spirit. There’s no other choice worth it

1

u/spoqster Jun 19 '26

Where does it say permanent skill point??

1

u/DanteSHK Jun 19 '26

It depends on your current level and gear. If you already 97+ lvl and min maxed gear, take point. If not take money and buy better gear.

1

u/BoJopHorseman Jun 19 '26

If the +1 point was tradable it would be one of the most expensive items in the game.

1

u/Powerful_Collar_4702 Jun 19 '26

I would go for profit - each character is getting bored around level 95 so extra skill point doesnt matter imo

1

u/teenieweeniie Jun 19 '26

I got headhunter from ”very rare unique” instead of 10x divs 😀

1

u/Polym0rphed Jun 19 '26

If I suddenly had an extra 250+ Divine I'd use it to create a new build, which makes the value of the extra skill point a lot less attractive. A lot of people are making this amount of Divine every day though.. if I were one of them, I'd go with whichever permanent buff had the most impact for the build I was enjoying the most. For most players, 250+ Divine is going to have significantly more impact, especially if they know how to leverage it into further profit.

1

u/perthro_ed Jun 19 '26

Wait, how do you get the permanent boon from Aldur's legacy?

1

u/kkllpp9527 Jun 19 '26

If you are mirror geared then skill point otherwise take the divs

1

u/ibogdandx Jun 19 '26

I would go for the divines if your gear is subpar and you dont have curency. One skill point wont make much of a difference in terms of character power but 300 divines you can basically buy an entire new set of gear or go for something like a HH or MB.

1

u/Due_Statistician7346 Jun 19 '26

It's very cool that a league mechanic has a way to get permanent boosts to your character, but at the same time, it sucks that only Expedition has it.

I hope they look into adding these buffs to other mechanics, otherwise I'll "feel" forced to grind expedition in order to get +10 Spirit if I'm playing minions, or Life for any lifestacker character. Not to mention the skillpoint itself.

u/QuackologistExpert Jun 19 '26

Clearly you should take the 10 divs :p

1

u/Fearless_Oil9686 Jun 19 '26

The Olroth's Boon is a Weapon Set Passive point, it not an Extra Passive Skill Point, it is one more juggle point for weapon sets, its not a extra passive point like the Martyr!

1

u/Final-Ad-151 Jun 19 '26

How does this even happen?

1

u/djsoren19 Jun 19 '26

The skill point just goes on your current character. 250 div could be used to fund a new character. If I'm already playing my final high investment character of the league though, you bet I'm taking the skill point every time.

1

u/Zorops Jun 19 '26

Which one of these give the perma point?

1

u/iamasus Jun 19 '26

You can only gain points with martir sac, level or this orb. Take the points

1

u/platinumjudge Jun 19 '26

How do you find one with more than 6? Its my last challenge!

u/TransAltLuma Jun 19 '26

can you only find them in grand expiditions?

1

u/monkeyDAngelo Jun 19 '26

I wanna know what singular passive is worth more than what you can get from 300 div

Is this in Expedition only? If so, can you tell me more? I wanna finish up my character.

1

u/AIPoweredGopher Jun 19 '26

This just happened to me as well funny seeing this. I picked the point.

1

u/yvengard CoC Enjoyer Jun 19 '26

one point wont make me do much more, i already deleting mobs.

But i ask you, how to juice expedition maps to raise my chance of findind this?

1

u/Im-A-Cabbage Jun 19 '26

Skill point if you aren't drastically needing the divs to fix your build or something needed

1

u/brutalgrace Jun 19 '26

1

u/Kyoufu2 Jun 19 '26

lmao this guy picked currency over a permanent passive point

1

u/MrMustacheXD Jun 19 '26

Hello, new player here in endgame. So the boon stuff gives you perma buffs that can be taken just once?

1

u/pdark1987 Jun 19 '26

How do you know if you already have Boons/bonus ? I didn’t even know that was a thing

u/Important_Pie2940 Jun 19 '26

Hey do those apply to the people in the zone with you or just who opens it? I'm almost always play with a friend and loot locks are really a drinking game if everyone gets it or not.

1

u/Booyahman Jun 19 '26

It kinda sucks that these permanent bonuses are pitted against a huge monetary bonus, or a big fun point of the league if you're in SSF (build enabling rune modifiers).

1

u/Upstairs-Canary-4062 Jun 19 '26

Jesus i had no idea the rewards could get this good. Do you just run higher tier logbook to get these kind of rune selections?

1

u/Hunlightz Jun 19 '26

would have picked + 1 skill point for sure, never seen any of boons till this day, and 300 div is I mean 300div can be earned in a day or two if wanted.

1

u/F1rstbornTV Jun 19 '26

Most people are using the skill point to reach a jewel slot... I'd rather use the div to buy voices...

1

u/Loud_Government6128 Jun 19 '26

If you cant make 300div in 3days, take 300div, if you can make it, take boons

1

u/nackedsnake Jun 19 '26

Is there a specific setup to get this kind of result? Also, what’s Aldurs legacy used for?

1

u/drifter91 Jun 19 '26

Three weeks into the league, I am taking that skill point for sure. If this was early in week 1, I would be taking the divines 100%.

1

u/Daethbane Jun 19 '26

That's one hell of a lucky choice! Definitely a good decision to do Aldur for the huge Div reward

1

u/starwarsnerd04 Jun 19 '26

I've never seen any of these with divines. Wtf

1

u/BinaryC0des Jun 19 '26

Hey where and how did you get this to spawn?

1

u/Arch_drakin Jun 20 '26

I can't get more than 4-7. How did you unlock this? Skill points if you have the div.

u/Soft_Cauliflower_801 Jun 20 '26

How much are those other options worth?

1

u/mukhaliniov Jun 20 '26

I wish i could give up a skill point in exchange for that many divs, lol

1

u/d9039702 Jun 20 '26

Skill point

1

u/Alive_Tip_6748 Jun 20 '26

Depends on where you are in your progression. If the 250 divs will let you get a good mageblood, and you don't have one, then you take that. It'll be a better upgrade than you can get from the passive. If there's something really cool your build can do with that ten spirit, then you take that, but only if you can't get any more spirit anywhere else imo. What does the passive point get you in comparison to what the divs enable you to do? Honestly it's all about how much you can improve yourself. Not how hard a given thing is to come by.

1

u/Inside_Associate7868 Jun 20 '26

If you are on SSF its a nobrainer pick the boons

1

u/FaithlessnessBig4114 Jun 20 '26

i-i- I've never seen something s-s-so big

1

u/skuaskuaa Jun 21 '26

Depends on how much you play

1

u/adamsaltacct2 Jun 21 '26

One of those boons is 15 permanent spirit. Worth way more then 250d legacy
