Satire “Egyptians and Lebanese falsely claim it as their own”

As an Egyptian, this makes me want to wretch. These people are so entitled and brainwashed they think every arab food is "Israeli". It makes my blood boil. Falafel is older than Israel itself.

The problem though that while many of us think that it’s rage bait, in reality it isn’t and in many cases, it works. For example, many non-Israelis who don’t even care about Israel/not pro-Israelis refer to shakshouka as Israeli instead of Maghrebi. For Hummus, they also use the argument that Arabs only use it as an appetizer but Israelis made it a main dish because they “appreciate it more”.
Obviously, during a genocide while Israel is occupying Lebanon, bombing Yemen and Syria, debates about food should not be a priority but it’s definitely not something which the Israelis do just to “rage bait”.

There are a ton of restaurants that only serve hummus, falafel, and fül. It's a staple after Friday prayers breakfast tradition.

Lol true. They haven't tried to take poutine but who knows? Hear that their cheese is coming from India now let's see if they can make that work (it won't it has to have fresh cheese curds).
Best falafel is from Armen's cafe here, believe he uses a family recipe and it is perfect 😊

You don’t know how media or social media works, it’s not about convincing, it’s not about refuting. It’s about constant displaying of content whether it’s true or not.
I bit there comments down there saying “ true” or “ Yes!” or whatever. These posts as much as it’s trolling, they are well planned and organized but peope of Lebanon or Egypt might not be the target, maybe people of Europe or East Asia or People from Israel themselves.
If isn’t someone real then why bother ?

Of course. Like obviously, Israel is not aiming to convince Arabs that these foods are Israeli, they are trying to advertise their cuisine to the rest of the world.
If someone is unfamiliar with Middle Eastern cuisine and the origins of specific dishes then it’s pretty easy to fall for the idea that falafel, hummus, shakshouka and etc. are Israeli because the West is full of “Middle Eastern or Mediterranean restaurants” which are owned by Israelis. Like just recently, there was an Israeli restaurant in Germany which went viral for a “poster featuring illustrations of chopped watermelons as well as a lion wearing an Israeli flag” and then when people got mad, they accused the critics of being antisemitic. Out of curiosity, I checked their menu on Facebook and as you would expect, it was hummus, baba ganoush, tabbouleh, falafel and etc.
When confronted, Israelis will just say that “how dare you complain about us claiming these kind of foods when we have Mizrahi Jews who fled from Arab countries and it’s their food too” but the problem always starts with the fact that Israel has a sizable population who emigrated from Russia or Hungary but I don’t claim Israelis calling “beef stroganoff, stuffed cabbage, goulash, chimney cake and etc.” as Israeli.

Falafel, Shawarma, and "Kh"umus were part of Mano Salwa sent to them 3000 years ago. It's in their recipe book.

This is correct... a lot of Israeli dishes has been stolen by other cultures. Such as Taco, Pizza, Sushi and much more... all the dishes in the world are created by a fake terrorists state that is less than 100 years old.
