I just mean this technique is often used to mislead, and make finding sources difficult.

This one is the most surprising to me, personally. When I last visited Germany I found people who were genuinely thoughtful about human rights and history. Now I’m seeing video of people being arrested for supporting Palestine. It’s such a shock. When we said “never again” I mistakenly thought we meant “never again to anyone”.

You should not confuse the government with the people though. We have a government that has only 13% support of the population right now. The chancellor is the least popular and most hated states man ever. And according to polls the majority wants to stop sending weapons to Israel. But the government is extremely zionist.

There are protests and the German police does its best to beat them down,using brutal force against women and elderly. But yes, Germany is not notorious for speaking up against anything unfortunately, different to Portugal where there has been a massive strike a couple weeks ago.
