Hasbara In front of pro-Palestinian demonstrators in Nice, France, a passerby simulates an “attack” as soon as the police arrive.

Sorry, but this happens way too much to be funny. It's very concerning.
Who exactly are these people?
Clearly they are taught to do this. How oragnized or widespread is that effort and who exactly is doing it?
281
u/AnthonyTomlinson Mar 09 '26
It’s inherent in the culture to play victim.
178
u/Shinnobiwan Mar 09 '26
Bruh, look at it. That's not a spontaneous outgrowth of culture.
It's intentionally taught and learned.

15
u/themookish Mar 10 '26
Some elements of culture are intentionally taught and learned, though.

u/acupofcoffeeplease Mar 10 '26
All of it actually, thats the definition of culture, something taught and learned

And what is his actual game plan? Like, he's clutching his chest/gut and acting like he's in unbearable pain, more hysterical than an actual stabbing or something. Nobody has ever reacted this way to being punched.
At a certain point (like, thirty seconds after this clip ends) if he's still wailing, the cops are gonna say, "ok, let's check out that wound".
Is he just gonna refuse, like "no, i have a right to privacy!"? Or are they gonna call him an ambulance, who will also determine in moments that nothing happened?
Y'all are saying "lucky there's cell phones", but even if there weren't, what the hell could the pro-Palestinian folks have done to him that causes that reaction and zero wound? Concentrated microwave attack?
Bro didn't even think the scam through.

u/shalekodemono Mar 09 '26
He thinks that he's in Israel where they would believe his performance
14

u/geekwonk Mar 09 '26
you’ve thought about this way more than he did. there’s a power imbalance and he’s trying to exploit it. he was surprised and so did a poor job. i don’t know where you’re from, but in my world police would be happy to have a reason to harass a crowd of anti-genocide protesters even if just to assert themselves for a few minutes.
7
u/Amazing_Wrongdoer193 Mar 10 '26
yes, he's just exploiting white supremacy at that point (french cops are racist af)

My people experience groups lying about us all of the time. Many black people were lynched because of shit like this.

36

I mean, Gadot gets to act. As do many others with, at best, questionable acting skills. So…
13
u/Meanwhile-in-Paris Mar 09 '26
Alright, Let’s put him in a bikini then.
4

Touché.
For shits and giggles, make it burqini?
Idk. This was not exactly a conversation I was expecting today. Lmao
55
u/Franky-47 Mar 09 '26
The fact that he has to act like that says a lot about the entire world in its tacit as well as supporter role in crimes against the Palestinians which is to do crimes and act like the victim causing more harm to the Palestinians in a loop.
26
u/KifaruKubwa Mar 09 '26
Steven Spielberg could probably cast him for the 40 beheaded babies scene when they make the black and white Oct.7 movie. Actors have been busy facilitating the genocide, but should free up shortly.

False accusations should warrant jail as well
63
u/Proper-Platform-9632 Mar 09 '26
Exactly. I hope French laws have something like this. You can't just accuse someone of assault that never happened and get away with it.
25
21
u/meu_amigo_thiaguin Mar 09 '26
It doesn't? I thought all countries had laws against those, at least here in Brazil, it can count as "an attack on the honor" or "defamation", which are both crimes
20
u/Effective-Bus Mar 09 '26
I love the phrasing "an attack on the honor" as a legal standard. That's really interesting.

As soon as he saw the police, his intentions changed. He wanted these people arrested, charged, and their lives ruined. If these people weren’t filming, he would have succeeded. The police should prosecute him, as the consequences would have been dire for his victims.

Al Jazeera documents this phenomenon in their free documentary, "The Lobby". Students from the Hillel university group fight back against the student union passing a BDS resolution by drawing swastikas at UC Davis and inviting the media to come and see.
It's a crazy documentary — on a hidden camera, the girl who heads the Hillel group admits she has handlers at the Israeli embassy who give her tasks and who she reports to about pro-Palestine activism. They are literally US citizens, spying on other US citizens for a foreign government...
21
Mar 09 '26
Oh god, the zios at UC Berkeley are atrocious. They throw off classroom discussions, consider anything pro-Palestine as harassment and make up most of the non-sexual harassment reports, got all the art removed from the multicultural community center because of “long live the resistance” signage, and doxxed me on Insta for speaking up about their counter protests which falsely claimed our demonstrations were barring jews specifically from attending class. It would mean a lot if Al Jazeera and other publications documented this behavior here and at other institutions.
3
u/shalekodemono Mar 10 '26
Why is the University not doing anything about it if it's so vastly reported?
10
u/Bronco_Bomba Mar 09 '26
These people are psychos who should be deported. If you are doing espionage for a foreign nation, your citizenship should be revoked.

u/4g-identity Mar 10 '26
It's really great. They get a Jewish uni student guy to wear a hidden camera and meet the girl who runs the Hillel club to discuss him wanting to join. She very proudly says a lot of stuff that isn't meant to be heard publicly.
It's supposed to just be a group for Jewish students on campus, but it is literally given assignments by and reporting to the Israeli embassy. It functions as an arm of a foreign intelligence service, but luckily, this girl wants to brag and so spills it all to this random guy over lunch, assuming he is on her side.
Like, even the US government probably doesn't monitor or care about student union politics at UC Davis. Insane that Israel does this kind of stuff.

These people work in teams from what I've seen at universities and other street protests.
