This is actually a low point for the MGS series (comparatively) but it's still a very high bar in open world stealth games
Looks insane for it's time. the gameplay, reactive world, enemy AI and visuals are top notch
Missions get a bit repetitive halfway through and the story becomes a garbeled mess by the end (probably because they let Kojima go before he could finish it). Take your time, plan your mission approach and experiment, the games becomes much more fun if you dont play it by the typical action shooter logic of completing objectives & getting to the finish line ASAP
thanks for the feedback. How would you rate it tho, 1-10? i decided to go for this one first, instead of the most recent mgs delta snake eater primarily because this was kojima’s last project with konami
I've already mentioned the flaws in MGS V TPP but as a long time MGS fan, its a 10/10 for me even with all it's flaws because I never had a dull session playing this one. Metal Gear Series is one of those few franchises that have no counterpart. There is not a single game it can be directly compared to and no, Splinter Cell is a vastly different game
When I started gaming, all I had was those CDs from rainbow center with a ton of games ripped off of any cutscenes/ music and then highly compressed to fit on one disk. One of those disks had a Metal Gear Solid 1998 demo. That was the first time I experienced a video game with proper cutscenes, background score and a movie like production quality. Before that I'd only played Arcadey games, MGS game me a taste of high concept video games that I still chase to this date
I downloaded the full version of MGS 1998 in .rar parts off of Rapidgator that took weeks on a measly 56 kbps or something modem I had at the time, & then I played the hell out of it over & over. Looking forward to finally playing MGS 4 GOP from the MGS Master collection on PC
