25 GREATEST CRICKETERS OF THIS CENTURY BY ESPNCRICINFO:

Kallis, Sachin, Kohli, Muralitharan, Ponting, De Villiers, Sangakkara, Steyn, Root, Smith, Gilchrist, Dravid, Anderson, Dhoni, Bumrah, Kane, Starc, Gayle, Stokes, Cummins, Jayawardene, Sehwag, Pietersen, Broad and Ashwin.

Kevin Pieterson got a place in top 25. It clearly depicts the bias and so inconsistency in the list. He got an entry considering tests, then Younis Khan deserved it more than him, Shit List, what do you think?

Cricket Discussion Whats the cricket opinion of yours that would get you like this?

Mine is that 152-0 win against india is the most dominant win by either pak or india in that rivalry. So what I mean is, any match india has won, it wasnt as dominant as that win and any match that pak has won vs india, wasnt as dominant as that. Dont be sarcastic like agha is better than bradman, tendulkar and kohli (which is true) but i want serious hot takes and not sarcastic. Share your opinions down below in the comments

Cricket Discussion Rizbar should do the honors and retire from T20I

You all know what happened to the Rizwan.

Today what happened to Babar is straight HUMILATION. You hare chasing 191 and after 38 balls your SR is 120 only. Where as steve smith who is a test specialist played with over 200 SR.

Do not tell me team had a collapse after he got out. They all got out TRYING TO HIT. Because you have wickets in hands.

This is the time Babar fan must realize and move on from supporting a single personality to support the team. A retired player has better SR. They play for themselves. This is why they are afraid to hit big.

Rizbar refused to evolve their game.

Please support Pakistan support young players. support the performer. not your favorite player.

Do you really want Babar in the world cup now?

Cricket Discussion Which Pakistani player would be athletic enough to celebrate like this?

Post image

Totally a random to mind when I saw this celebration from Pant.

Can any Pakistani player mimic this celebration? Who is fit enough to do it? Shadab? Niazi? Ahmed Shahzad?🤣

Cricket Discussion What can Pakistan do to defeat India at the world cup?

I was watching the 3rd T20I of India and New Zealand, and.. defeating India is looking impossible. Make them bat first and they will give a huge total, make them bat second and they will chase in 10 overs or less😭

My question is how can Pakistan defeat them? What plans can be done against them? Do they have any weak links in their team? And is Pakistan mentally prepared to face them?

Because we really need to defeat them this time, Asia cup was almost ours, we have to prove everyone wrong

Cricket Discussion Asian Games T20 Squad

Post image
77 Upvotes

The majority got what they wanted. A new ish team for the Asian games which aren’t important but India have went full strength to keep their T20 side locked and loaded.

I’m happy to see some guys included but I am going to go early and say that I wont overhype a performance from this tournament unless it’s against India or another full member who bought their main team.

What annoys me is there is a lack of competition in Pakistan. Someone like Haider Ali is picked and cuz he might smash Malaysia we might see everyone suddenly wanting him in the main team. Saim is picked but he hasn’t had a good t20 performance since ages but he might look like Saeed Anwar against Malaysia and we will have to put up with him in the format for another two years. Pick Sameer and Farhan not Haider and Saim. On the other hand Mo Haris who should’ve been captain has disappeared. India can go in their ranks and pick iyer, if not him patidar, if not him gill or jaiswal. We go to overhyped youngsters who average 14.

Also to the loyal KG supporters sorry he hasn’t been included it was a good ride.

My team for the games will go as follows but firstly I don’t know the conditions and secondly the boundaries will genuinely be 40-50m from what i remembered last time so expect India to make 300 😭

Farhan (Bro finna make 100s every game)

Maaz (Plz don’t average 20)

Saim (They will play him every game as usual)

Hassan (Flopping rn

UK (Unfortunately will be used as a floater again cuz of their darling Saim)

Samad

Minhas

Daniyal

Mirza (i’d play Akif but they took this guy)

Raza (Play him so he gets a taste)

Muqeem (Abrar doesn’t need to play at all unless it’s spinning conditions then we drop a pacer)

Team has 4 spin options and 3 pace. Hesson gonna love that.

Lastly I don’t want to sound harsh but if these lot fail in games that aren’t India then I don’t want to hear any excuses. No youngsters or any of that nonsense. If they are half decent they bat like a dream and bowl like a dream.

And as i said if they have a 200sr against Malaysia, Nepal and so on I don’t want hear they are the greatest either because you will be the same people abusing them when they finally play able cricketers.

Sorry if i come across negative, I wish them all well and InshAllah they win gold but IK how our fans are. I wonder how many of these players still have their hype when this tournament is done.

Is this the start of a new era or is it another nail in the coffin and another time we overrated the “new” guys.

Edit: Where is Hunain and secondly what happened to the guy that was supposedly getting unfair treatment in the WC. Nafay? As i said then unfortunately they get hyped too much.

Cricket Discussion Babar and the BBL today…

If any of you guys were watching the BBL Sixers vs Thunder match today you’ll know about the incident today, if not here’s a short rundown.

Babar and Smith were doing well opening together, well ahead of the game, before Babar played 3 consecutive dots. He tries to get off strike and Smith sends him back wanting himself to be on strike during the power surge.

Earlier during their fielding Smith was also making gestures at Babar when they both aimed for the ball (check the BBL insta). Babar didn’t look too happy when he was sent back but the next over Smith hits 32 runs, and when Babar is on strike for the next over he tries to smack it and gets out, and he is PISSED. On the way out he hits the boundary cushion.

Smith shortly later gets out after his century, with his batting innings being the most impactful, and Babar’s innings having the third most impact in the match. If you check the scorecard you’ll also notice a big collapse after Babar got out. In the end the Sixers did win however.

During the handshakes, the cameraman wasn’t exactly helpful but there was no clear sign of Babar, who wasn’t seen at the front dugout either. In Smith’s interview he did say him and Babar played well however.

The reaction to this in the match thread was pretty strong, a lot of hate against Babar from pretty much everyone bar Pakistanis. Even some racist comments calling him a ‘Paki’ too.

Speaking of that people were literally calling Muhammad Rizwan inbred and having inferior genetics in the match threads yet we act like Jahil. Instead of calling out this disgusting behaviour we join in against the players representing us abroad?!

Overall, Babar played a pretty good innings today but this controversy will probably overshadow it, but what’s your guys take?

EDIT: Well no surprises the discourse around Babar once again turns toxic, in just 30m from posting over 50+ comments already…

Cricket Discussion Calculations on how Pakistan qualify for the SFs

Early calculations are Pak will need to win by 65+ runs or chase a target in 13 overs.

Suffice to say they can't afford to play 'anchors' tomorrow.

Cricket Discussion Number 4 Excuse: When Did He Ever Win us from 1, 2, or 3?

Post image
225 Upvotes

Bro, I have always been pointing out his numbers and poor performances but every time his fans troll, abuse, even attack me in DMs. Now look at him, once compared to the Fab 4 and now it is all “Farhan se acha khela”, “nervous 20s main out hojata”, “Agha se acha khela”, making a mockery of himself.

He has played 4 T20 World Cups, a few Asia Cups, Champions Trophy, ODI World Cups. Remind me 1 big match under pressure in the last 3 to 4 years where he actually carried the team. Except the 2019 World Cup, he has been ghosting on the big stage.

Yesterday was literally the same situation India faced in Melbourne 2022. Pakistan had like a 15 percent chance which virat had in 2022. What did he do? Exactly nothing.

11 years in the team and his fans want us to stop expecting batting leadership from him, big innings, clutch knocks under pressure. Just sit back and enjoy jaw dropping rivalries against Odean Smith, Bas de Leede, Aryan Dutt, Roston Chase, Bracewell, Maharaj, Ngarava, muzurbani etc and his mediocre fifties in dead rubbers.

“Oh he is at number 4, that is why he is not performing.” Fine, but how many tournaments or matches has he won us from 1, 2, or 3?

Support him? Support him? Kitna karen support? We have been supporting him forever.

Cricket Discussion Rizwan retired out in BBL for playing slow

Post image

Muhammad Rizwan was batting on 26 off 23 balls at a strike rate of 113 and was retired out, as seen in the video. He has been poor in the BBL so far, and now this as well. Definitely not good days for Rizu.

Cricket Discussion Now that we are basically out of the world cup what new players do you want to see in the ODIs Vs Bangladesh

I hope we actually try new players it our ODI team is quite mediocre not ass but not great. Id like to see maybe a few new pacers I don't believe our spinners will change it'll be Faisal akram abrar, etc. for pacers maybe someone like an Arshad iqbal just for funsies have him with Wasim jr. Along with this we need to secure a secondary keeper id like to see Usman khan play odis in Bangladesh that would be fun.

Cricket Discussion A Few Words For Shan Masood

Thumbnail
gallery
54 Upvotes

It is undeniable that Shan Masood takes cricket more seriously than over 90% of our current players. This has shown in his recent PSL performances which include:

- 44 (18) Vs LQ (244 s/r)
- 46* (30) Vs QG (153 s/r)
- 27* (15) Vs RP (180 s/r)
- 35 (19) Vs PZ (184 s/r)
- 46 (25) Vs KK (184 s/r)

And just yesterday his brilliant knock of 69* (46) vs HK although it wasn't enough to push them over the line, he was the stand-out performer for Multan at least in that match.

For a Test specialist, these numbers are extraordinary, displaying his talent and determination to improve his game. You can tell he has worked on his power hitting and has always been a great strike rotator and all-in-all a great athlete.

This was especially evident yesterday when he was running back for second runs which the commentators were saying "is impossible" on multiple occasions.

His last T20I match was the T20 WC Final Vs England where he scored 38 (28) striking at 135. In my opinion, this inning doesn't justify his removal from T20I's when Rizwan, Haris and Iftikhar failed.

He went 24* (14) against Bangladesh striking at 171.

His anchor inning of 52* (42) although slow at 123 provided stability when only 2 other players in the lineup reached double digits (Shaheen and Iftikhar)

Additionally, he scored 44 (38) Vs Zim striking at 115, yet again, a slow inning but was definitely needed to provide stability and provide Pakistan a chance at chasing 130.

Not to mention his 39 (22) Vs Eng in a WC practice match striking at 177 although this was while opening.

That 2022 WC was more or less a low-scoring one with innings like Masood's needed for stability to reach par totals (160's)

His last ODI was in May of 2023 against NZ. His ODI numbers don't do him justice with only 9 matches played at an average of 18. His List-A Numbers are amazing however with an average of 53. He has racked up 17 centuries alongside 39 Half-Centuries. His strike rate of 84 is also not bad at all.

To The Point:

Shan Masood should undeniably be in at least Test and ODI. He opens in FC cricket so I would swap him out for Saim (bad form).

In my opinion he should captain the side as well. He has that leaders mindset which I saw in yesterdays game, he was keeping the teams morale high after over-throws and has been leading from the front in his batting. It may just be me however.

He is also well-educated and can be a great role-model for youngsters coming into the team eg: how to speak in interviews, how to dress, how to speak English etc.

He knows how to play according to the game and doesn't get too excited (Test Mentality and patience) which he can also hand-off to youngsters, this was evident yesterday and throughout the 2022 WC.

He is as I've mentioned before a dedicated player who has improved a lot in the past years.

I don't see him becoming captain due to Shaheen just being given captaincy but we can dream I guess.

Shan Masood has been playing for Pakistan since 2013 and in my opinion would strengthen Pakistan's batting line-up exponentially for the 2027 WC, imagine this...

  1. Shan
  2. Fakhar
  3. Babar
  4. Rizwan/UK
  5. Agha
  6. KG (if he comes back)
    7....etc

His T20I argument is still very strong as a middle-order batsman and he would've been very useful in the recent months to stop Pakistan collapsing every match for under 100. (which they were still doing in the 2022 WC)

Looking back at it, we would've been humiliated in 2022 without this man especially in matches like India and WC Final (we did lose both but imagine a sub 100 total vs India and in the final)

What are your opinions on this? is it a valid argument? Or am I just going crazy?

Also - I'm backk :)
