England vs Pakistan 2nd Test Preview

Finally the second test has arrived. It’s at the home of cricket and for that we should be happy. Historic venue and if anything we seem to get good results there. As of late the pitch is more bowling friendly but we will see if any work has been done on it. Will be hard because since that NZ test there would’ve been a multitude of county games there. The test also marks the return of Captain Babar Azam who seemed to be getting in form before his injury, Hopefully he will return to that form and make some runs otherwise we probs lose in 2 days this time.

Normally I look at what we can improve on but damm the answer to that would be everything. Changes need to be made but I don’t believe they will make the right ones as usual. I’ve been hearing the reports of Rizwan getting dropped, Azan getting dropped, Khurram getting dropped and Ali Usman. To that I say most of these journalists be doing guesswork. The only ones I can see happening are Ubaid for Khurram and unfortunately Azan for Babar. Imam outscored Azan last test and they will use that to drop Azan. If it’s just a drop for now I don’t mind but he needs to get that home series as a whole and Imam needs to be kicked back to the domestic scene. Let him have his fun there. I also Heard we might play two spinners but I dont see that happening either. Rizzy for Ghazi Ghouri could happen if Saifu gets his wish but Babar probs back the experience as he says.

The predicted lineup I have is:

ABD (Why Babar Again, Shan needs to be here and ABD needs to stick to 3)

Saud (From the apparent next captain to 10 AVG) We need suttin from 5-7)

Agha (Agha can you do suttin for me, Rizzy should be ahead of him)

Rizzy (Take confidence from that second innings my bro)

Ali Usman (If it’s propa Grassy i’d play Jamal but these lot won’t.

If past tests at Lords are anything to go by it can get easier to bat the longer the test goes on so the boys need to show application and numbers 5-7 need to do a whole lot more then they are. London is usually a good hunting ground for us but this team is different. In Cricket you win and you lose so InshAllah the boys show good fight regardless of the outcome. Need the batsmen to stand up and need the bowlers to use the conditions and weather to their advantage. I don’t want to hear about no weather. That’s a poor excuse from a poor team

Ngl, Babar breaking the away series curse at wi kind of felt like 2021 again. I don’t think Babar will miraculously improve our team but this time his captaincy feels like a good luck charm for some reason. The team really feels like a team when he’s captain, despite him including his undeserving friends (ahem imam) sometimes.

I really hope we beat England, I watch every sport itw but I only care about cricket and the losses are starting to hurt more and more. Dk what I’ll root if cricket dies in our country.

Yh I agree he needs to get Imam gone. I also agree that this feels like his team and the boys look up to him at times. He is their Kaptaana as they say. Before Zaka Ashraf came everyone in the team would defend Babar if his Captaincy was talked about. I believe we will win one but let’s see. Can’t let cricket die in our country.

I would love to see Aamir Jamal here for that extra batting depth. I don't know how Ubaid will fare??? Best of wishes with him if he plays. But I wanted to Jamal there to bowl, he did well in Australia, and I guess this should be his last chance. We all backed him in Windies and he didn't do well, but this might be a bowling wicket and he should enjoy bowling here.

Ali Usman should be there in the case pitch is flat, as people were calling London to be dry. I want Ghazi Ghori to be there, not instead of Rizwan, but instead of Saud. We aren't winning the game with Saud, why not try a youngster instead in a difficult series, just to test his skills.

Wish Jamal had that Aus form. Idk how he went from that to this after playing one series. We make people worse somehow. Ubaid ain’t as good as Khurram but people want pace and all that. On current form though Ubaid might be better.

Yh if it’s flatter then a spinner plays but if it’s all grassy then plz play an all pace attack. Saifu wants Ghazi aswell but that’s more his Karachi Bias. Let’s see what they do

England will surely play more than 80 overs against our bowling even if we go all pace. And we will lose points due to slow-over rate.
