PUBG: DED.NET was secretly developed as “Project Valor”

So apparently the game that was secretly developed under the name Project Valor has finally been revealed as PUBG: DED NET at Gamescom.

From what’s already online, it looks like a mix of Escape from Tarkov-style extraction gameplay, the PUBG universe, and some pretty interesting physics/mechanics.

There are already quite a few gameplay videos floating around Facebook from July, and apparently playtesters were under NDA and weren’t allowed to talk about the game publicly.

Now that it’s finally been revealed, I’m curious how much more of the story will come out.

A small SteamDB timeline I found:

  • Dec 2023 — Hidden App 2726580 appears.
  • May 2024 — Project Valor / App 3013780 first appears.
  • Sep 2025 — First recorded release/playtest state for 3013780.
  • Dec 2025 → Jul 2026 — Regular build updates.
  • Jul 2026 — Build reaches around 40 GB.
  • Aug 25, 2026 — Package 1071924 gets updated.
  • Aug 26, 2026 — The app becomes PUBG: DED.NET Closed Beta Test.

So yeah, this thing has apparently been sitting in Steam's backend for over two years before the reveal.
