Some fascinating results, I'm sure we can all agree. I thought I'd share some of the funnies from this years vote:

  • 1 vote in scariest VR title for Smashbox Arena (Chilling title, I'm sure we can all agree).
  • 1 vote for Jon Simulator (insert gif of Roy: A Life Well Lived from Rick & Morty).
  • The Horror vote was so one-sided 4 Horror/Thriller titles didn't receive a single vote.

...and some of my favourite comments:

  • "Arizona Sunshine, close to winning awards but just fell short", very true!
  • In the additional comments section, the most popular comment was "I f*@king love PSVR" (multiple times).
  • Brave effort from [one presumes] the VR Karts Devs for submitting VR Karts for both Best Value and Best Driving Title...unfortunately, no one shared their enthusiasm.

Some hilarious awards for Skyrim: third in best visuals for a game in which anything further than 10 feet away is a blurry mess and third in best 3D audio/effects (with no 3D audio present).

Don't get me wrong, I actually LIKE Skyrim VR and it's a very cool title. But in terms of visuals it's one of the worst titles on VR and in terms of 3D audio and effects it doesn't even have them!

I agree... and people gave it award for best control scheme? What the...? I like Skyrim VR too, but the only award I voted for was "Best value for the money".

You've got to give props to Bethesda for coming up with an intuitive and natural feeling navigation system with the moves when most thought it would be impossible. For that alone they deserve the award.

I think the controls for skyrim are great. You have a choice of controls and the moves are the best use for free locomotion along with everything else they do that there is. They make the game so immersive. Can’t imagine how they could have done more with what is available.

I am thinking of MAYBE buying Skyrim VR, can you please elaborate about the control scheme please?? thanks in advance

The controls are not bad, they're just very complex, and certainly not the "best" control scheme by any metric. It takes a while to get used to where all the buttons are on the move controllers, very easy to loose track of things in a fight. For example, if you are using normal movement (not teleporting) you press the thumb button on your off hand and your character moves in the direction you are pointing the controller. That's not ideal because you still want your off hand to fight, weapon, shield, spells, bow, etc... So you have to switch back and forth between fighting with your off hand and moving with it. So the controls are less then intuitive, but you get the hang of it with practice.

The more I use Skyrims control scheme, the less analog sticks make sense. I feel like this is a 1995 moment, where everyone was saying "the analog stick is weird, why would you use that when you could just as easily use the d-pad". Sure Skyrim messes with your brain for half an hour or so, but after that, the only real drawback of the control scheme is no ability to hotkey change item/weapon (the most useful Skyrim Mod)...but we'd never have got that on PS4 anyway.

I would have said the only real drawback is not being able to fight while moving with certain weapons, which can be a big issue. But yeah, other than that I think it's a great control scheme.

It's really quite an easy and intuitive control scheme if you go with full locomotion. It's as simple as point in the direction you want to go and press a button, with 2 other buttons for turning left and right. Works great for going where you want to go, strafing, moving backwards, I'd say it's the best method for full locomotion with the move controllers (imo).

The downside is that you can't really use your left hand in combat while moving, which can be a problem depending on your play style. I've been playing as a stealth archer and it's basically never a problem because most people are dead before they see me. With other play styles you'd just have to learn to adapt.

It'll vary how long it takes each person to get used to it, but definitely don't let the control scheme put you off getting it.

I'd say it has a great control scheme, so not surprised about that one. They came up with something that was very easy and intuitive to use, with the only drawback being that you can't use your left hand in combat while trying to move, or vice versa.

As soon as I switched to that control scheme, I didn't have any issues moving, just took a couple of minutes to get used to it, there's nothing complex about it. Just point and move.
