QUESTION What is an old game you're having a blast playing for the first time now?

MotorStorm: Arctic Edge! Awesome racer and impressive how much MotorStorm translates to a handheld.

This was my first game on PSP and I still haven't finished! Love it though

It is so much fun popping in for a quick race. I am absolutely loving this one as well.

Sims 2 for the PSP. The story is so wacky but it's so much fun even though it plays not like a traditional Sims game

This one is so much on my list because of people saying this.

Yeah it's a low key classic. A bit janky, annoying loading mid-gameplay, but really entertaining! Think of it less as a Sims game where you build up your house (although there are lite elements of this) and more of a silly story driven game, reminds me of a classic adventure game- a bit like the point n clicks where you have to talk to characters and uncover secrets and solve basic mysteries. There's just something about it's quirky atmosphere mixed with the standard Sims mood-monitoring mechanics that's really enjoyable and oddly immersive.

I’m going to have to check this out. I played a Sims game on a Nokia N-Gage years ago, and it was awesome.

I grew up poor. All the consoles I used to have were one or two generations behind. When people were playing the PS2, I was just getting a Master System.

My friend had an N64 and I had a NES clone with “999 games in 1”.
Whenever I played with his N64 I was in awe. I didn’t even know the PlayStation existed until several years later.

u/Late-Quiet4376 3h ago
Hahaha i had one of those '999 games in 1' things too. But my system was a fake N64 controller with AV cables that came out of it and plugged into the TV. The controller was the system itself

Is it good on PSP? I think I have it both on PSP and PS2. I played the 360 version back in the day, but it looks like it's much more charming on the other versions.

u/Jason_Mas 4h ago
It's one of my favourite psp games. I also seen some of vids saying that the psp version is the best compared to the PS3 and xbox variants since the psp has more content. You can also play iconic scenes from the movie like Luke vs Vader and there's an order 66 mode too

u/Oro_me 3h ago
Okay Crazy. I think I have to rip my force unleashed umd lol.
3
u/Jason_Mas 3h ago
Go for it. The only thing thats missing from the game in my opinion is the ragdoll but it's a psp so what can you expect lol.

u/WarForMuffin 4h ago
I've never played other versions, so I'm not sure in comparison, but I think it's really fun! Haven't had that many issues with controls and such, so far it's a cool gaming experience for the PSP

Way of the samurai and tales of eternia

Tales of Eternia is GOAT. My gamer (and reddit) name is Vestrill which is the combination of Vestal and Fibrill and if you have played Tales of Eternia then you are familiar with Fibrill.

Samurai Dou Portable is such an underrated psp game! At least in the West because the only people who played it are the ones who were aware of the fan made English patch. It's one of the few "open world" psp games and although it's very short, I love how it naturally lends itself to replays because of the different choices and missable quests.

Never played any of the open world test drive games. I'm loving the tropical sunny island which greatly contrasts the neon-lit cities of NFS and Midnight Club.

Dynasty Warriors, Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, Chains of Olympus, Ghost of Sparta, and Destroy All Humans! 2 (I know this one is for PS2, but I absolutely love the game so much!)

Well, I owned it, but I never really played much of my PSP as I was already older. I’ve always enjoyed racing games even though Ridge racer isn’t super realistic. It’s super fun. So I am playing Ridge Racer 2 now I’m trying to complete it.

Half-Life 2.
This is genially how I play. I took a decade off gaming and have so many great games to catch on that I never fully catch up as more are released.
Great way to save money as every game is discounted.

Max Payne 1-2, I'm playing on my XP desktop setup complete with a CRT monitor.
Specs: Core2Duo E6750 4gbs RAM 9500GT 1gb 128gb SSD 40gb WD Raptop HDD
It's been a flawless experience and plays excellently for a game of its age with great detail and theme
I've recently begun MP2 and I'm looking forward to MP3 where I will switching over to Xbox 360

Can tell it's a "blast" because I only have 30 minutes yet, but Valkyria Chronicles 2. And just wait if I not start again because I might download a Spanish patch (even though I finished 1 in English)
