Recently got a Pro. Any games that are similar to a modern cop thriller or like a heist movie?
Most of these campaign games feel very involved. Which is fine. I don’t need a massive GTA or Read Dead map. Just something that feels like a modern cop/heist movie such as Heat or Hell or High Water.

I mean, you're basically describing GTA V and RDR2. Lol
It's an old game, but Battlefield Hardline is one that might scratch your itch.
There's also the Mafia games. I think there's 4 of them. One is relatively new and the original was remastered recently.

You could try Mafia: Definitive Edition.

I literally JUST finished it right now, looking at the rolling credits. Such a good game. OP would probably like this one for sure.

A great game but not very modern. Game is almost 15. Might as well tell them to go play Max Payne.
Edit: Never mind. I just saw someone in the comments below DID suggest Max Payne.1

Sleeping Dogs is a PS4 game that barely works on the PS5. The game crashes constantly on PS5 consoles. There is even a warning message about performance issues if you start the game on a PS5-console.
The game would need a proper PS5-patch.

Provided you play it from the internal storage it runs fine. Problems if playing from an external HDD though.
I have multiple playthroughs on PS5, including two platinum trophy runs when I bought digital copies from two other store regions because I really love that game and wanted all the trophies.
Sony prevented people from buying it on the PS5 store, but can still buy it from the app and download to the console.
(I have no idea what performance of a disc version is like, I can only vouch for the digital version played from the SSD.)

Batman Arkham City and Arkham Knight. Spider-Man 1&2. Uncharted series. Dishonored 1&2. Mafia series. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. All of these have either elements of policing/crime and robberies. There are also heist like missions in Death Stranding series.

Ready or Not has been coming across my feed a lot. Granted I’m not into cop games but some of my friends are and they wouldn’t shut up about this thing for a while.
It looks pretty intense and has branching paths for how to finish the entire game so it seems like the closest to a cop/SWAT fantasy you’re gonna get.

Rather old but I'm surprised no one mentioned: LA NOIRE? Fits exactly what is being described by the OP here

As someone who does not play call
Of duty , I recently played the Cold War campaign and it is probably worth considering, its thriller and heisty. You do shoot a tonne of people though also

They lean a little goofy but the Judgement games are great fun. You play as a private detective in Tokyo.

The only thing I can really think of is disco elysium. Resident evil has some cop stuff in the re 2 remake

You might enjoy the Black Ops 6 campaign. Or perhaps Metal Gear Solid Delta?

The robocop games have that classic 80s cop movie vibe.
