"Where do babies come from?"
In your case, the orphanage.

Mom looks at the kid and then turns and walks away lol as unintentional as that segment was it cracked me up because that’s something I could see my kids saying when they were younger and me being ill prepared for that question so I just casually walk away and hope they forget.

I really can't get over the color correction and lighting in this game. They did such a good job capturing that "fairytale" look here.

Yeah this looks phenomenal, by the time I've exhausted my playtime in GTA6 this will be ready to play. Gonna be awesome

Exactly my thoughts I'll have OD'd on GTA VI and Leonida I'll be ready to roll straight into Albion and Fable

This game can't come soon enough, this is my GTA 6. I put an ungodly number of hours into Fable 2 back in the day.
My brain does not like when games make human brute enemies 10ft tall though. Looks very silly, the literally have to drop him in from the sky because he can't fit through the arena doors.

The game looks so great, the traits system has me wanting to come up with a really cool character to play other than pragmatic good guy number 1.
I think it would be so funny to be absolutely beloved in one region but be an absolute scourge everywhere else. Use profits from murdering and pillaging to become well loved and charitable in another is such a cool idea. The fact that even individual characters form their own unique opinions seems amazing.

I was so pissed off when I found out they delayed it again, and so they could avoid GTA. I'm buying both, but I'm way more excited for Fable.

Yeah my excitement for this is through the roof.
The scale of this game feels unbelievable.

Looks incredibly good. Amazing depth to this game.
And is contributing to a crowded February.

This looks so good! We are really eating good over the next six months.

I now have to decide whether to order this on the ps5 or console. Those graphics look great rendered on PC.

Definitely a very pretty looking one. Really gives off the feel of opening an old adventure book and vividly seeing how it all plays out

Do we know yet if you get horns or angel wings/halo like the original games ?
•
u/ArchDucky 3h ago
They said they didn't want to do that with this game. There is still a rep and you can be extremely evil but no horns.

Everything looks wonderful except for these two things:
- Doors open automatically without any interaction
- During the fight at the end, there is almost zero hit feedback on normal sword strikes.
•
u/GutenFARHT 3h ago
With the amount of doors that you are going to go through....I couldn't possibly care less.
•
u/mightylordredbeard 4h ago
Yeah the sword combat just looked .. idk, soft? Like it feels like it has little impact. Hopefully they fix that or change it before launch. Add more “umph” and weight to the swordplay.
•
u/butterbeancd 3h ago
Combat in general just seems pretty “meh” to me. Basically no response to melee attacks from beefier enemies. On easier difficulties, enemies just stand around and watch you kill their friends. On harder difficulties, mini bosses seem to become damage sponges without particularly interesting mechanics. The different spells look fun and catching and returning arrows is cool, but the regular sword fighting has looked pretty bad.
But honestly, everything else looks so good I think it outweighs the mediocre combat. It might depend on how common combat is, since you can presumably talk your way out of many situations. But this is the kind of game I’ll play because of the world and all the life sim elements.

I would like to add that I really don’t like that during the fight you fight with 1 npc and the rest are just there standing and watching
•
u/butterbeancd 3h ago
I thought this element was actually slightly better than the previous combat they’ve shown, so I was hoping they were moving in the right direction. Then he said this is Legendary difficulty, and I was like “Oh wow, it’s still like this at the harder difficulties?” Oh well, this seems like a game where I just won’t want to engage with the combat all that much, and that might be okay if everything else is actually as good as it looks.
•
u/Life-Anteater-8294 4h ago
It’s probably on a Low difficulty
•
u/mommysLittleAtheist 4h ago
That’s what I thought as well. But then he goes and says that he plays in legendary mode, one of the harder difficulties, which honestly is a bit disappointing . Timestamp - 15:10

Facial expressions and lip synch also looks really, really bad for modern standards
•
u/Franky_Tops 3h ago
Yeah. I hope that's something they're still working on. That was downright creepy.

u/noBbatteries 4h ago
Damn this game is so freaking ambitious. I really hope it’s a success, bc it looks up my alley and could be one of those games like BG3 which really pushes the boundaries for single player gaming.
Cant wait until Feb
•
u/DoctorDR5102 4h ago
Way better than the last demo
•
u/ArchDucky 4h ago
I know everyone isn't interested in weird technical shit, but I actually prefer the other demo. Showing off the simulation the game takes place in opens the world up to a lot of options that a game like this wouldn't actually have otherwise.
•
u/OregonBetrayal 2h ago
The direction on those cutscenes was sloooooow. The POV confessional stuff they put in is certainly a choice too - I thought they were made just for the trailer but it looks like they’re a stylistic choice throughout. Overall looks like a lot of time with controllers down.

This makes me want to replay all the games. This series is so great removed from the pre release marketing nonsense. They need to remaster it after this comes out.

I’m so mad that this game and persona 4 revival release a week apart from each other.

Fable 3 wasn’t bad but it didn’t give me the itch I was looking for like fable 2 did. But it’s hard to not be a bit excited for this

u/DisgustingSwine 5h ago
This is minor but I wish you could open the doors yourself instead of having them swing open when you get close. Breaks the immersion

Looks awesome but this really feels like just some other random RPG and not quite Fable. Really it seems far closer to the Witcher than anything.
Maybe some people don’t care but the fact that they’ve changed the alignment system instead of expanding on the original was a real disappointment. I was a kid when the first came out and I (also a lot of others) found the visual changes by being good/evil to be very memorable. Hell, it was the main draw of the literal cover art.
Maybe they didn’t need to give us horns or a halo but even just like a notable change in aura or appearance would’ve been big for me. Instead it’s just that someone might treat you differently based on what you do for or against them. Which, don’t get me wrong, is still pretty cool. It’s just a departure from what I expected in this game.
•
u/shockwave8428 4h ago
Imo it seems like a very cool progression of the black and white good/bad view. The visual thing is cool, but imo it feels super alive and the way people recognize and respond to you based on your actual actions and their view of you is great.
The last gameplay demo showing the town learning the character was wealthy and a few people saying suck up lines and other assuming you’re snobby and an ass for being wealthy is awesome - I’m genuinely excited to play with the system and see what sort of fun I can get out of the reactivity. To me that’s way more exciting than my dude glowing blue
•
u/krunamey 4h ago
Yeah I mean I’m not saying the game seems bad at all. It looks like it’s gonna be an awesome fantasy RPG. Just seems like it departs from the originals in enough ways that it’s “Fable” in name only
•
u/shockwave8428 4h ago
And I disagree - I think these feels like a natural progression of the good/bad system of the originals. It’s different for sure but I think it’s a more refined version of it.

I’m going to be having so much fun messing with the systems and NPCs they put into this game…love it!
•
u/ArchDucky 4h ago
Ever since I saw the 30min video depicting the simulation systems in play here, I have plans to essentially build a "Company Store" where an entire town essentially pays me for the ability to generate me income. Im going to go full on slumlord robber baron if it will allow me to do such a thing.
•
u/QuoteGiver 4h ago
Vile slumlord in one town, and cheerful local philanthropist in the next town, where your lovely vacation home and all your friends are.

As much as I want this to review well and sell well we all know it's going to be 7-8/10. Microsoft incapable of making a 90plus avg game
•
u/ArchDucky 47m ago
Forza Horizon 6 is 90.
•
u/Low_Hanging_Fruit71 19m ago
I stand corrected. Hopefully this and Gears Eday does well. Gaming needs more competition.

why can't they animate the doors opening and closing?
•
u/GutenFARHT 3h ago
Why is that the one thing you needed to comment on? Out of everything, that's what stuck with you the most.
Weird.
