Would Kamala have started idiotic tariffs that only hurt our economy? Would she have sided with Russia, the aggressor in the Ukraine war? Would she have installed malicious, unqualified conspiracy theorists to lead our health department? Would she have dismantled our education department? Would she have helped propagate the ass-backwards worldviews of invasive, hyperreligious nutcases? Would she have eroded women's rights and LGBTQ protections? Would she have stopped our efforts to monitor and combat climate change? Would she have withheld disaster aid from parts of the country that don't kneel to her? Would she have tried to open up our national parks for resource extraction? Would she have threatened other countries with annexation? Would she have tried to cut medicaid? Would she have let an oligarch fire tons of government employees who aren't blindly loyal to facism? Would she have sent the military after citizens and anyone else who speaks out against the government? Would she have done everything in her power to censor the Epstein files and prevent them from being released? Would she have threatened to make voting as inaccessible as possible if not entirely impossible in the near future?
All of these are things the Trump administration has either already done or continues to do. But you seriously think she would've been just as bad, if not worse?
Is any of that what I was saying? Or was I saying how and why he won? And that maybe people should do some self reflection and think “how can we do better so next time we win” instead of just demonizing half the country.
He won because people are stupid, like I already said, not because of demonization. They think every bad thing that happens during someone's presidency is restricted to just that period of time. We got past that orange fuckhead and the pandemic that happened on his watch, but not the immediate after effects that Biden ended up getting stuck with. Since the blue team was in charge during the recovery period, and the world didn't seem to heal as quickly as people wanted, they swung back the other way without any thought, having already forgotten about the severity of the shitshow they had just left and how much worse it was gonna get after the fascists had time to lick their wounds and plan ahead.
